I bought three radios for myself and my two sons. This radio has been used to check in at home in Texas. The radios have been to Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Montana, California, Florida and many places in between. They’ve been used while on hunting trips and vacations. It’s awesome that we can check in with each other when cell service isn’t available. At a time when customer service isn’t always what it should be. I’ve been impressed with the service we received from the team at rapid radios.

Understand what you are getting and the limitations. These work on cell networks however the SIM card works on multiple networks. Therefore if one is down it will find another. If everything is out then they will not work but 98% of the time, in most disasters there will be some cell service.
The customer service has been good - I run a 2nd group with folks from all over the country and they usually will add new folks within a day of me asking.
The new self-service portal is great. You can manage the names of your radios yourself now.
These are another options for your emergency communications plan, as they work on multiple networks, whereas your cell phone will only work on one.
From a business perspective if you want the ability to reach your folks without the expense, and distractions of all the other features of a cell phone, then these are a great option.
Understand that while there isn’t a monthly fee, there is an annual fee of $100/pair of radios. You can’t beat that price compared to a cell phone or other IoT device.

I finally found radios that work in the big woods. rapid radios didn't disappoint and worked clearly which is something that all my previous walkie talkie purchases failed to do.
They satisfied my issue without hesitation 100% shipped a replacement battery before I could ask what I could do with it.
Rapid radios are great, and they took care of an issue I had immediately. Just renewed my subscription for another year with Patrick . Highly recommend them.
I have purchased 5 of these radios so far they work great!! The last two I bought came programmed wrong but a quick call to customer service and the issue was resolved in literally 15 seconds great company great service fast shipping!!
Two of my four radios had issues with the call button and two had issues with batteries they did replace the batteries but they never got back with me replacing the two with a bad call buttons now the warranties up I'm stuck with them I'm not paying the $50 per line every year for something that works off a cell tower I'll just use my phone this company is a total scam their phones are made in China not here as advertised their customer service is very bad out the $450 never again
For the first time in our lifetimes, we were able to communicate in our woods and the house! Would highly recommend these radios for communication where cell phones don’t work!!
This company is truly amazing. I was deployed and didn’t receive my package. Without hesitation they made sure i had a replacement and had my back when not many companies cared. Their product is awesome too i will def be buying again!!!

I haven't had the opportunity to try the radios yet, but I wanted to leave a comment regarding Rapid Radios Customer Service.
I was having a problem activating my second radio. I sent an e-mail to customer service describing my problem. Immediately I received an e-mail back saying that someone would respond soon. Within 30 minutes I received a response. Ally L. was my service representative.
Ally did an outstanding job walking me through the activation process. Within a short time, I was able to get set up.
Then I made an error and "deleted" my radios. I wrote back to Ally, and she immediately responded and said that she would access my account and set everything back up.
I'm in my 70's and some things are more of a challenge to me. Ally said not to worry. Within an hour I was operational.
My wife and I can't wait to start using our radios. Ally L. made our day by listening to our problem, understanding and then giving instructions on how to resolve. Then ultimately correcting my mistakes and getting my account ready for use.

I purchased six radios and have been using them to learn all the basics. I have called Rapid Radios with questions and Patrick has answered my questions promptly. Also he was able to fix the issue I was having and took the time to explain what steps he took to resolve the issue (that I created).

Customer service does not answer calls or emails.
27 calls placed to their sales department. All calls are automatically hung up on after 15 minutes.
No emails responded to for 2 days now.
Worst issue... They screen their reviews on their website. All negative reviews are deleted by the admin to inflate their rating.
Preliminary update: I received a call today from a customer service representative this morning. Although there is still concern regarding them filtering out negative reviews from their own website, which is still seen as pretty shady, the rep worked to find a fair a reasonable solution.
I have upgraded this review to 3-Stars and may increase it to 4-Stars once the radios have been tested and the service evaluated. Please note that if you buy new radios, they will come with 1 year of prepaid National Coverage. However, if you want Global Coverage from day one, you will forfeit the first prepaid year and have to pay $100 for National and Global coverage during the first year. Normally, these are billed out during the second year at $50 for National Coverage and $50 more ($100 total) for Global Coverage. This policy is not disclosed anywhere on their website. It is only disclosed if you can get through to customer service and desire to upgrade to Global Coverage during the first year.
I will revisit this review in 30 days and let you all know how things unfold and give an honest and unbiased review of the actual product and the support team's follow-up.

It says no monthly fees ever !! Well after 1 year there is a yearly fee that they do don’t disclose false advertisement definitely a bait and switch call asked for manger never called back I left 2 messages .

We have had ZERO issues with our radios! We’ve tested them all across the country. For example, a call from Florida to Alaska was clear, concise, static free, and proved these are not toys. Our group chats are just as easy locally. I have had to call customer care once and was helped very quickly and we highly recommend Rapid Radios to everyone who needs to be connected.
