RC Cars - Stay away!!!
RC Cars Reference: RC1852605IW (Wisecars #90553252)
I booked and paid in full for the rental of a Fiat Tipo for one month, entering a contract with Wisecars (#90553252) and their Izmir agent RC Cars (Ref RC1852605IW) on 7/8/2024. The contract was breached by both companies and particularly RC by enforcing me to take a Fiat Fiorino - a van - instead, which I immediately rejected. I was given no other option: the van or the van only! They said they had no other cars left!!!
I was to use the car for comfort with family at a beach resort and to go to physiotherapy for a full month!!! Not to transport and deliver goods!!!
When I arrived in Izmir, there were no-one waiting to pick me up - something that was promised in the contract and was repeated to me when I rang them before I boarded the plane for the second leg of my travel, from Istanbul. So I had to call RC on arrival. They told me to proceed to the exit and wait outside the Terminal. I had assumed that I would be picked up from the arrival hall and taken to the RC Offices 4km away, for paperwork and to pick up the car as previously stated and is on the agreement. 15 min later a white van arrived. I was naturally thinking that this was to take me to the RC offices. Instead, I was told that this was my car and they had no others. When I refused, the office manager on the phone (Mr Serkan?) became rude raising his voice saying I had no choice and Tipo and Fiorino were same category of cars.
Searching for a car to rent in the UK prior to renting through Wisecars and RC, I had seen these vans advertised, as a commercial cars and lower/different category, so I knew I was lied to.
I rent cars every summer for at least a month, I know my rights, the categories of cars, the contracts and how the rent-a-car companies work. It wasn't hard to recognise the malpractice. I had been assured couple of hours ago that my booking was fine and my car was waiting for me. What a lie and a deception!
I had hernias at my lower back, heavy suitcases and was subjected to this abuse under the August heat of nearly 40 degrees having just travelled for hours. I felt terrible and rang Wisecars immediately. They wanted to investigate the issue, when I had sent them the photos of the van and explained all that had happened. I was left there £600 out of pocket. There had been no consideration wether I had money to rent something else to get me where I had to get to.
I had to go through security again to go inside the terminal to talk to the car rental companies present. It was high season and all small cars were all rented out. I was a captive customer wanting to rent at the 11th hour at a peak season! By pure chance I found a small car that was booked for someone and was not picked up. This was the cheapest car to rent at the airport at that time. I paid £1300 (with £700 excess for the same category that I had booked from RC and Wisecars) to get me out of there feeling terribly disappointed, disrespected and deceived..
The excess I had no choice but to pay is a significant amount for me and I can sew you for it with all the evidence that I have. I am aware that it is a breach of contract and a deception in legal terms. You put me in a very bad situation, ruined my holidays taking advantage of my middle age single traveler profile to push a commercial van for financial gains and tried to justify it.

Here is what the internet and all the car rental firms say: Question - Are Fiat Tipo and Fiat Fiorino same class of cars?
Answer - No, the Fiat Tipo and Fiat Fiorino are not in the same class of cars.
Fiat Tipo: The Fiat Tipo is a compact car (C-segment) that comes in various body styles, including a hatchback, sedan, and station wagon. Its designed for family use, offering a balance between comfort, practicality, and affordability.
Fiat Fiorino: The Fiat Fiorino, on the other hand, is a small commercial vehicle (van). Its designed primarily for transporting goods and is often used by businesses for deliveries. The Fiorino is part of Fiats lineup of light commercial vehicles, emphasizing utility and cargo capacity over passenger comfort.
So, while both vehicles are from Fiat, they serve different purposes and belong to different classes: the Tipo is a passenger car, and the Fiorino is a light commercial vehicle.

I have the contract and the pictures of the van and the car I booked. These information are sent both to Wisecars and RC. I insist that these companies pay back £700 they cost me by their unprofessionalism and malpractice!!
