We provide electronic for the RC community. Initially lighting and pyro control systems for night flying and now various sensors and accessories. Everything we make we built because we wanted it, others wanted it too, so we started the site and now sell globally. We manufacture everything ourselves, we do not resell any third party products. RCLightSystems is run by Tom and Charlie Wood, with guidance from their dad, Simon Wood. The majority of the work involves building and assembling the products coupled with a lot of testing. We typically take a year to launch a new product as we want to make sure we have used it ourselves first. Also every single item we ship is hand tested by us.

Awesome products with great customer support
Great product. I use the telemetry converter for my FRSKY radio and Castle ESCs. Its works so well.
I had some issues figuring it out and Simon emailed me back and helped me within 12 hours. Great service! I ordered a few extra converters for future projects

Delivery to Germany was super quick. Just a few days.
The telemetry converter works perfectly with avian ESC, frsky archer plus receiver and TX16s. I even have reverse thrust as well as lots of useful telemetry such as amps, mAh, V, RPM, esc temp etc. If you take the time to understand how it works it’s actually quite simple to set up.
Only small negative was the import taxes which RC LightSystems warned me about and, to be fair, they can’t do much about.

As to import taxes, sadly the UK chose to leave the EU, and now the EU makes it financially impossible for small business to collect sales tax on behalf of the customers country. ESC Telemetry Converter with Futaba in Viper 90
I purchased the ESC Telemetry Converter and it works perfectly. I used it in a eflite Viper 90 to enable reverse thrust and get telemetry with my Futaba setup. Works perfect and was fairly easy to setup. However getting the USB dogle is a must to ease setup.

Hi Stephen, thank you for the review. Yes the dongle does assist greatly in the configuration process. You can use ours or any other half duplex dongle (Jeti USB or Powerbox USB for example).

Thank you Peter. The USB dongle coupled with the bootloader software is the simplest way to configure. You can use the button, but it's a slower process. Also the dongle allows you to upgrade the firmware as we release support for more escs or features. Always free updates.

I purchased the telemetry converter and usb dongle
I purchased the telemetry converter and the USB dongle for a RC plane I'm setting up, as I use Jeti and the Avian controller does not provide my telemetry system.
First of all, I have to say that I'm VERY impressed by the overall quality of the system. It's small, connectors fit in perfectly in the printed box, and the configuration software is very easy to use.
Second, I'm also VERY impressed with Simon attention to detail. Not only he provided me with all the explanations I needed, but also provided some additional tips to use the Avian controller to the fullest. He also walked the extra mile to make sure I got my order exactly as we agreed.
Last, the converter is incredible, as it adds more parameters (as the much needed consumption) than the standard Avian controller (Spektrum, are you listening? Consumption is adamant, when flying electric).
I'm looking forward to do more business with this company.

Excellent customer service! This is a very niche business and typically the gadgets these folks make would normally come from china with no support. I wanted to try something that was not being done and they walked me through step by step. Then went even further and released a firmware upgrade to help. The telemetry converter and the update software work exactly as they are supposed to. Looking forward to future products!

Great products well thought out, well supported…
Great products with first class support. I've used the ETC telemetry units, with my Align and Hobbywing esc's paired with my Futaba radio. They worked great, something that the above mentioned OEM manufacturers seems to struggle with getting right. Also used the piro igniters, after having a remote RC switch fail and almost cause a disaster. The RC Light System piro igniter has an arming procedure and fails safe, unlike a lot of remote switches or igniters which are in my opinion potentially dangerous. Their products are very well thought out, well priced, well supported.
