Poor experience at RCN De Flaasbloem
We stayed for five nights at RCN de Flaasbloem on a motorhome pitch. Based on positive reviews and our initial tour of the facilities, we were optimistic about the park. However, our experience during the stay revealed several concerning issues:
🏖️ Beaches & Dog Fouling
We were surprised to find the beach and surrounding areas heavily littered with dog waste. There appeared to be no designated bins for disposal, and the lack of maintenance made it difficult for our five-year-old granddaughter to play safely. Whether this reflects different practices in the Netherlands or a lack of oversight, it was deeply disappointing.
🏊 Indoor Pool
Although the pool was monitored, there was no active supervision of behaviour. Teenagers were loudly bombing and shouting, creating a chaotic and unpleasant environment. Our granddaughter was unable to enjoy the pool, and the condition of the changing areas and floors was unhygienic enough to deter us from returning. The absence of staff intervention in such situations is unacceptable.
🚲 Bikes, Scooters & Karts After Dark
Each evening, as daylight faded, groups of teenagers rode bikes, scooters, and karts at high speeds without lights, showing little regard for other campers. The lack of regulation posed a genuine safety risk, and again, no staff seemed to be addressing this behaviour.
🎉 Late-Night Parties
On two separate nights, loud parties continued well past the stated quiet time of 11pm, disturbing not only our family but many neighbouring campers. Attempts to contact park staff via phone and WhatsApp were unsuccessful, and we were informed that no staff were available on Saturdays. The absence of any emergency or security contact is deeply concerning.
Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our experience at RCN de Flaasbloem. Compared to our previous stays at Marvilla Parks, where service and guest care were outstanding, RCN fell far short. The lack of oversight and accountability for disruptive behaviour made for a frustrating and unpleasant stay. Regrettably, we will not be returning to any RCN park in the future.
