Excellent service from Jackie in the Baby department Restored my faith a little in a company that has clearly lost its way in the last few years

Love love love RIH
I don't understand where these negative reviews are coming from. I'm on my fourth box now and I love RIH. Never had an issue. I will say to read the FAQs if you are thinking of taking out a subscription as you get your first box the month after you subscribe, which I think confuses a lot of people.
If you are considering subscribing, do it! You won't regret it.
Just received my second box now and…
Just received my second box now and love it as much as the first. Always arrive on time too and communication is great.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. Was bought a subscription for my birthday, such a fantastic idea and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. My first box arrived however my second one didn’t, when I queried this I was told a second box had been sent, when this didn’t arrive I contacted the website again and was told I was lying. A week later I was sent a photo of a box that had been returned to sender by Royal Mail. The address label had no house number on it but the owner of the company sent me an abusive message saying I had failed to collect this from Royal Mail and I had lied about the delivery not arriving. She insisted this was the address they had on file and that obviously I hadn’t set it up properly despite the first month arriving with a door number on the address label.
The emails from the company were rude and aggressive and refused to admit they’d made a mistake, the owners should be absolutely ashamed of themselves

A total scam
Last week, I bought a subscription for a Christmas present. It wasn't clear whether the card would be send to the recipient or to me and exactly what message would be included, so I messaged Reading in Heels. The answers I have received are astounding. From their responses, they clearly don't have my order, as they keep asking me what message I asked to go on the card. If they had my order, they could clearly see that. We have now exchanged 12 messages and I have asked three times for a telephone number, so we can have a quick conversation to clear up the confusion. Three times, they have refused to give me a number. It is a simply query and only needs a short chat to sort out, but Reading in Heels clearly is not interested in any sort of customer service. In fact, I think that it must be a scam. They have accepted my order and taken my money, but yet don't seem to have my order to hand and refuse to speak to me. I think I will need to buy my sister an alternative present, as I have no confidence that she will be receiving anything from Reading in Heels.
Update - interesting that I ask for a quick conversation and get my order cancelled! Reading in Heels clearly isn't bothered about business!
Apparently asking for a telephone number is abuse! I am just a person and just wanted to talk to someone about my order. All the best and Merry Christmas to you!

Great books I have only received two…
Great books I have only received two months plus a bonus Christmas box and loved the two books I bought I haven't had the chance to read my bonus book yet.
But the books have both been amazing and I have loved all gifts that came with the books.
They are really nice and helpful or at least they have always been with me and although I just buy on a monthly basis I know I will carry on buying from them for a long time. I always look forwards to getting their boxes each month
Avoid at all costs
Avoid!! Absolutely dreadful customer service. Incompetent, unprofessional and dishonest. Bought a 3 month subscription as a birthday present. I chased up when the 1st box did not arrive emailing numerous times. Luckily I paid through PayPal and RIH only started interacting when I raised a dispute via PayPal. Paypal investigated, ruled in my favour and refunded me. Had it not been for that I would have been out of pocket. I can forgive a box going missing, admin errors etc. What I cannot forgive is appalling customer service which smacks of absolute disdain for their customers. Such a shame.
Edit: RIH Why didn’t you respond to my emails and tell me this? I was met with a wall of silence. If you had responded and explained this maybe I wouldn’t have had to escalate.
Edit again: I did contact your customer services, many many times. More than 10 times. You didn’t reply.

Treat with Caution
Very Disappointed. It seems a company that spends a lot of time promoting themselves on social media but with zero customer care. I was given a 3 month subscription as a gift and received 2 but the last one never arrived. Upon contacting them, all they do is provide a tracking number which if they even too a minute of their social time to check, you would see no attempt at delivery has been made. Which I would understand as it’s ‘lost’ that’s when the fun starts with Reading with Heels as despite emailing daily they do not respond. I had considered buying a subscription as a Christmas gift but due to their lack of interest I will take my money else where. I would also appreciate advice on how you claim against this company as can not find any address or phone number.

Paid for 3 months received 2 - nobody is interested.
I purchased a package for my sister in law and she informed Reading in Heels that she received September and November delivery but not October. Their reply was extremely sarcastic basically saying that they could not help. I have since seen on Trust Pilot reviews that it appears this is a common complaint. They are now bouncing back her emails. I am extremely annoyed that I paid for 3 months and only 2 were received. I fail to see how a package cannot be traced - deliveries do go missing but normally a company is happy to assist. I was going to purchase this again but will certainly not now. Poor customer service.

Fantastic!
So I’ve waited 3 months to give this review so I could have a better idea about the subscription and service. Absolutely love it!!! It is a great way to find books I normally wouldn’t pick and the litle treats are always a great surprise.
If you thinking about trying it be aware that sometimes the book might not be to your personal taste - it is a risk you take with a subscription but the concept and execution are brilliant!
No regreats at all and will be using them as some Christmas/birthday presents!
Absolutely love Reading in Heels
Absolutely love Reading in Heels. Its the thinking woman's subscription box. Always have a stimulating read and beautiful treats to enjoy. It makes my month. The added bonus of the on line book club is brilliant too. Love, love, love it!
Really lovely I’ve just received my first box
Really lovely I’ve just received my first book nd can’t wait to start reading! Going to have to get a new bookshelf!
Only thing I would say is it’s not as clear as it could be on their website that you’ll be waiting until next month for their box once you sign up, so you are hanging on wondering where your money has gone, but once it arrives it’s worth it!
Really lovely
Really lovely! I’ve had three so far. Such thoughtful treats included too. I really enjoy discovering the new things that appear inside. It’s a present to myself every month :-*) I’ve told multiple people and they’ve signed up too. Commission? Haha ;-)
Absolutely amazing...
I just received my November box and I had to rush and post a review right away. I am sooo excited about everything in the box! It's a very thoughtful theme, the book looks fantastic, and all the little treats and presents look perfect. I have been a subscriber for about a year now and every box is as lovely as the last. I did wonder if over time the quality would go down, but no! If anything they are better than ever! If you love reading, finding time for yourself and supporting lovely small businesses with great products then I guarantee you will adore Reading in Heels. xx
A real shame
Very disappointed to be honest. Bought 3 month subscription as a gift for someone. First box arrived. Second box did not. They promised to send replacement. Never came. It has been a month. Seems this happens to a lot of customers, with replacement boxes mysteriously never arriving either. From reading other reviews they seem to use the same jokes/excuses about Royal mail making their own book club - as they did with me. Really thought this was a good idea, but not a well organised company. A great idea, so a real shame they don't deliver as promised.
UPDATE DEC 2018: 3rd (and last box) arrived, 2nd one never did. I did contact you MANY times about either sending an additional box or refunding me for that 2nd one and you just ignored my emails. So I am not entirely sure why you claim you will refund in your reply below.

I placed an order in July and as yet nothing has been recieved. I have sent numerous emails to which I receive no reply. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Well worth the money
Ordered my October box and was thrilled when it arrived in the post. The books are always quirky and well chosen - not blockbusters that you may have read already. I love the beauty and sweet treats that come with the box too.
Really poor - missing deliveries
Really poor - had a 3 month subscription from a friend. first 2 arrived fine. thought I would sign up for another 3 months as well. But not received the 3rd book onwards. Despite many emails and very jokey pleasant replies - eg. Royal Mail must be starting their own book club.. etc. still no books.
Seeing other recent reviews I wonder what is happening

3 month subscription purchased - postage issues
I purchased a 3 month subscription and the first box arrived (by the 10th of the month as promised), the second however has not arrived (currently two weeks late). I have made contact with customer services a couple of times and they have always responded promptly - I'm currently waiting for a replacement box. Having read the other reviews relating to postage I wonder whether it would be better to send boxes by first class or registered post?
Updated: replacement box still not received over a week later.
Unbelievably bad customer service
Unbelievably bad customer service. I was ordered a 4 month subscription as a present from my husband. First box arrived fine. A few weeks later the rest of the money was refunded and an email was sent simply saying the money was refunded but with no explanation as to why. No box arrived, of course. When we contacted them they said it was because they had charged us in sterling instead of Euro. Makes no sense. They claimed they had emailed us asking if we wanted to amend our order, but they hadn't. Have never come across something so strange from a company. Nice idea but don't waste your time!
