What waste of my time

What waste of my time. I sent Reclaim all the documentation required and a two page letter to help them find a claim I was making. They sent me a letter in return to say they held digital copies and returned the items I sent them. They also told me that they had sent copies to ******* a company I never mentioned and were making a claim. When I contacted them to try and straighten it out, they claimed they never wrote that letter and only had a copy of one item I sent them They also claimed that as I had not asked them to look into ***** they would not have done that! This by the way is a shortened version as they just would not answer my questions directly. Then they finally said that as I had sent a death certificate for my husband they could not make a claim on behalf of a joint mortgage when one of the parties is deceased. Why didn't they say that when they received all my paper work connecting to that fact? Why did they return the paperwork with a letter they claim they did not send with which the contents were not relevant to my case? I don't know anywhere that will not look into things when one of the partners with a joint account has died when all the relevant paperwork is produced on behalf of the deceased person. That may be their policy, but my complaint is the fact that they virtually suggested that I did not receive such a letter and necessitated a long 'chat' to get to the point that they do not make claims on behalf of deceased person with a joint account. They should make this clear that they have certain obstacles up front and they should have someone manning the 'chat' line that answers questions that are asked instead of going around the houses. What a waste of time!!!
