I booked this through Boots, which I'd always thought a respected and trustworthy UK brand. I was forced to pay for the tests up front before I could book a place and date, but I proceeded as I tr... See more

Order elsewhere
Same as everyone else... inconclusive when test is clearly negative... Then trying to reorder no voucher!
Terrible service my experience is…
Terrible service my experience is similar to previous post on here I took a test which was clear to me was a negative test took a picture which after several attempts I was finally able to upload only to be informed about an hour later that the result was inconclusive, no further explanation was offered I was informed I should take a further test and once I had booked it I would be given a voucher code, I did not receive the promised voucher and all of the appointments for in store tests near me were at the end of novemberso of no use at all I will not use this service again and would advise others to look elsewhere
Unable to upload
Unable to upload, as many others have commented. Boots need to be investigating. Very poor experience.
Totally unacceptable
It is just impossible To access to the portal to upload the picture of the result. completely useless.
A really bad experience
Just had a really bad experience with the Boots Day 2 home lateral flow test. I tested negative and took the photo of the result and my booking ref form as instructed and uploaded them to the Boots Recova-19 site. Later I received an email saying my result was inconclusive. I then followed the instructions to get a voucher code which would give me a re-test free of charge. After several attempts to get this non-existent voucher (I kept being taken straight to the payment page instead) I gave up completely. What a poorly constructed set of instructions this is. What a waste of my time too.
Invalid bar code...as per many others
Invalid bar code...as per many many others.
cannot activate, therefore won't be processed.
Boots used to be a trusted name
Cannot upload test
As per other reviews, no way to upload the test. QR code not picked up, took relevant photos on my phone and gave up. I wonder if the millionaire who made £21 a pot for these tests has the audacity to say he/she worked hard for their money.
Day 2 Lateral Flow Test - COULD NOT UPLOAD RESULTS
I ordered 3 lateral flow day 2 tests from BOOTS. On 31st October we did the tests as instructed and took the photos. When we came to upload the photos to the RECOVA portal we were asked for a bar code to identify the test. There was no bar code on the tests only QR codes. 4 adults and 1 teenager spent an hour trying to work out what we needed to do and we failed. We could not upload the test results as instructed by NHS Track and Trace. Precious family time and £63 completely wasted. Not to mention the worry and anxiety at not being able to fulfil a legal requirement that may incur a fine! And then to cap it all no-one from NHS track and trace checked up on our missing test results.
A COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
I have emailed Recova stating the above and they have replied - apparently I need to complain to BOOTS. They are "We are not permitted to deal with any Boots customers directly. If Boots feel there is an issue with the software they will contact us."
Hopeless and unaccountable - AVOID
3 tests ordered and paid for at £21 a pop, only 1 arrived. That was done but came back inconclusive on their website even though it was clearly negative. Customer service absent, palmed me off to Boots who were then also hopeless and ignored all the email chains and asked me to start again. Government backed daylight robbery - AVOID!!
“Inconclusive”
Like other reviews on here, I submitted a clear negative test result which has come back as inconclusive. There is no voucher code as promised to reorder a new test, and there is no helpline number. I haven’t been able to get through via general boots helpline number. My husband who also had a clear negative test result submitted at the same time has not had any formal result through via the system. Still waiting ….
I ordered a boots test kit and it…
I ordered a boots test kit and it arrived on day 2. Giving me little time to do the test.
I followed the instructions to do the test and the result appeared negative, however I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to "Register the test".
It seems that the test number for an antigen day 2 test from HUGHES appears as a QR code at the top of the actual physical result indicator.
You have to use a camera to scan that and cannot enter it manually.
It did work in the end with some trouble hence I can give it 3 stars. The experience could have been smoother.
Get one from Randox
I have just spent the last three hours trying to upload my Lateral flow test results and I still haven't managed it. I have used three different gadgets all to no avail. The thing just scan or recognize the bar card number. What a waste of time and money!
Awful
Thought I could trust Boots to work with a quality provider. Registered family of four tests online with photos - all showed negative. Test results came back - 3 came back negative and 1 positive. The 1 positive is clearly negative. The pink line thing is clearly showing negative test result. No idea how they've interpreted that as a positive. No customer service to recova and currently on hold to boots. So officially we have to miss work and therefore lose money while we wait for a pcr test to arrive. So poor.
Thought it was me getting confused on the website but can see from these reviews that loads of people found it rubbish too.
Very bad service
Very bad service. Instructions unclear.
If I could mark this service as 0 I would do.
Something is totally wrong somewhere at Boots processes.
Son's negative test registered as…
Son's negative test registered as inconclusive due to their rubbish site crashing when uploading his result, where on earth is the code for the free retest?? The result is clearly negative anyway!!
Same terrible experience as everyone else
Unfortunately our experience is the same sorry story as so many others on here. Though it also looks like Boots/Recover have sent us the wrong Day 2 testing kit.
The descriptions below refer to a Lateral Flow test - which has been the revised Govt requirement since 24th October. We returned from our travels on 3rd November and had ordered the testing kit on 1st Nov to get our Passenger Locator Form.
We have received a PCR test with no instructions and no way to upload or even register the test kit. All very stressful and anger-inducing !!
Interestingly, no-one even asked for our Passenger Locator Form at Heathrow - so really wish that I hadn't bothered spending the money in the first place.
Shocking is the only word to describe…
Shocking is the only word to describe it. Wish I'd read the reviews and advice before hand as spent 2 hours trying to navigate the terrible system. Ended up not being able to upload photos, phone died, went back in no function to reload photos, so they came back inconclusive. Not spending another penny or time in it.
Boots Recova tests - rubbish service
Poor service and information from Boots. Day 2 test result reported as inconclusive when clear negative result. Email saying to re-test but unable to find voucher for free re-test kit. Not paying again when it is a clear negative lateral flow. No contact numbers and no further advice on website. Noted all the poor reviews - system is not fit for purpose.
No where to upload results
I have the test, have taken the picture and can get the number from the QR code. I've registered on the recova website and can load it to see my details, but there is nowhere on the website to register the test I have taken, or upload a photo! I presume that this is a bug that might be fixed tomorrow, this is incredibly frustrating.
My husband had a Covid test before…
RUBBISH.......COMPLETE CON!
My husband had a Covid test before returning to UK from USA (Negative) . The week before he had given blood. Both resulting in negative. On arrival in UK took NHS Lateral flow (negative). Day 2 took another NHS Lateral flow (Negative) and Recova-19 test along with myself. Didnt think the caps were very good. Mine returned failed his returned positive. Boots didnt want to know said they were prob faulty and they would send another. We said dont bother and took a lateral flow that day ( negative) and also went to a drive in Covid test Centre and took PCR test as advised by 119. Both tests NEGATIVE. He has still been made to isolate by NHS. Two more Lateral flows this week NEGATIVE. The help given to us by anyone has been none. I wouldnt even put one star. Something aint right somewhere along the line....what a CON!!!!! Dont use Recova!
