Love my sunglasses!

Absolutely in love with my new sunglasses. Asked a staff member to recommend me some and they have done an excellent job. Can't wait to wear them on holiday. Came in brilliant condition and arrived on time too! Would definitely recommend this company! Thank you

Wrong glasses sent

Glasses ordered and came on time just wasn't happy about being sent the wrong glasses.

The ones I wanted had been taken off the website when I checked after receiving the wrong ones. Would of preferred it if I had been told about this so I could of picked another pair not just been sent the ones they decided to send me.

Due to going on holiday I was unable to send them back as I needed the glasses

Wouldn't use the company again due to poor comunicaton from them and not being advised that my glasses were out of stock I shouldn't of been able to buy them if they didn't have them.

Hi Holly

Really sorry about the mix up with the delivery. We wouldn't just send a different pair of sunglasses if we didn't believe they were in stock. I can only assume the sunglasses weer wrongly stock checked by our warehouse, which is no help to yourself.

Our system works whereby any product that hits zero stock level is automatically hidden to avoid over sell.

I'm really sorry about the error, we offer a free returns service if you would like to return the frames for a full refund.

Thanks,
Philly Blackett

Terrible aftercare

You place an order for prescription sunglasses and they'll only send the original lenses if you let them know, only thing is they are impossible to get hold of.....phone calls go to voice mail (which is full), email service of their website doesn't work., BEST TO STAY AWAY!

Hello S Raam

The reason we do not send the original lenses is because they're marked for the prescription process by the optician and would be un usable to the customer.

Our customer service representatives are available from 9am until 5pm on weekdays.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Kindest Regards,

Never again

Ordered my prescription sunglasses and they came within days...sadly they had the wrong colour of lenses contacted Redhot and they said to go ahead and return them and they will rectify. Waited 3 weeks without any word from them before finally emailing and asking what the hold up was, told they would be delivered next day. Emailed again the next day when they didn't arrive they apologised and said that they were actually just being sent to the opticians would be yet another week. My glasses finally arrived one week later but the original lenses from the glasses were now incorrect emailed once again with no reply as of yet. Coming up for 6 weeks since I first placed my order.

Edit - your prompt reply sums up your service.

Hi Corinne

The order was placed incorrectly by yourself on our system, as stated in numerous emails with our customer service team.
We altered the lenses for you as a goodwill gesture, as prescription sunglasses are usually non-returnable and we could see this was an honest mistake.

We apologise for the delay in getting the frames altered and returned to yourself, this should have been a much quicker process. We have reviewed our service and have improved the delivery of prescription orders on the back of this.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks for taking the time to review Red Hot Sunglasses, all feedback is greatly appreciated to help us improve our business.

Brilliant Service!

I ordered my Ray Ban RB2140's the other night as I need some sunglasses for my holidays. I was browsing the web and come across redhotsunglasses. I couldn't believe how cheap they were compared to the Ray Ban website. Ray Ban sell the same sunglasses for £125 but redhotsunglassess sell them for £68. They have just arrived and I am very pleased. I could track the parcel as it was being delivered. I would definitely use this website again. 5 STARS.

Great service and Sunglasses

Ordered the RayBan Justin RB4165, came next day as described however came with a brown carrying case rather than the black carrying case which was advertised. Phoned customer service and without any hassle, they are sending me a black case free of charge! Can't beat that! Definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for affordable sunglasses and I will definitely use their service again!

Sunglasses quality control concerns, but otherwise great service.

UPDATE: To reflect RHS's response and having done more research including buying more sunglasses from other sources I will say that I am confident that RHS sells authentic sunglasses. I have bought more Ray Bans both with and without "145" on the left arm and I have found plenty of obvious fakes on eBay that haven't been taken down, so their credibility has been lost in my eyes. In addition to this, Ray-Ban's website lists them as certified resellers. My only concerns that remain now are Luxottica's horrendous quality control and RHS failing to notice the two warped ones I got from them. In 4/5 of the Luxottica sunglasses I have come into contact with have been warped to varying extents. Now if it was 1/5 I would accept that sometimes they will slip through the cracks or get damaged in transit, but we're talking an 80% chance of warping in my experience. That's quite a shocking statistic for supposedly high quality sunglasses with RRPs of £125, and simply too high for me to believe it can be transit damage despite the good packaging or a one off.

In regard to me stating "inadvertently obtain fake stock", this was a misunderstanding after reading the following paragraph from the website, which suggested to me there was some remote possibility a fake could come into their possession and to get it checked out. I think it actually means they will check them to ensure fakes aren't returned to them, but my reading skills appear to be as bad as Luxottica's quality control, so who knows?
"If you suspect you have received a fraudulent pair of sunglasses from us, as part of our guarantee we always advise customers to take the glasses to another authorised retailer to certify that the glasses are genuine. If you are still not convinced we recommend sending us an image of the glasses and the glasses themselves back to us (with the security tags intact) for a full refund. We inspect every pair of glasses that come back to us at the warehouse and send any faulty or damaged pairs on to the manufacturer for further investigation. There are a lot of pairs of fake glasses in circulation so it is in our best interest to be vigilant about accepting returns!"

Original: I have now bought three pairs of sunglasses from RHS. My first sunglasses were some black, polarised Oakley Frogskins. Arrived in good time, correct item, everything fine. My second order was some blue Oakley Frogskins LX. I was impressed with the service here. I found the specific colour I wanted on their website through Google because they were out of stock and didn't appear on their search results page. Other websites also didn't carry them anymore; I could only find them on Surfdome and Vision Express, but both were more expensive, so I emailed RHS to see if they'd be back in stock anytime soon. RHS replied fast and said they would order them in specially. The third time I purchashed Ray Ban Clubmasters, again everything went smooth.

However due to knowing fake Ray Bans are common, I scrutinised them when they arrived. They seemed really good to me and I couldn't see anything wrong with them. I then did more research (usual how to tell fakes websites, forums, videos, looked at pictures of them on Ray Ban website & Sunglasses Hut, looked at eBay ones) and I found two problems. Firstly the left arm says "145" on it. Of all the pictures I've looked at from reputable sources, I have not found any others saying 145 on the arm. Secondly, it seems the information booklet should be inside the cleaning cloth packet but with mine it was separate. But the main one is that I listed them on eBay with very detailed pictures and they were removed within 24 hours because eBay thought they were counterfeit.

So that lead me to start checking the other sunglasses I had got from RHS. The first Oakley Frogskins I had been wondering if they were lop sided for a while but didn't have any other sunglasses to compare them to, so assumed my ears were uneven. I have since got several pairs including Trussardis from TK Maxx, unbranded M&S, unbranded eBay and Carrera 6003s and all of them sat on my face evenly, so it cannot be my ears. With my Frogskins LX, I had noticed that when I smile my right cheek touches the sunglasses while my left cheek does not. The sunglasses looked even so I again thought it was something to do with my face. But no, I later realised the arms both protrude at a left leaning angle, causing one side to sit further forward than the other.

That said, all the sunglasses seem to be high quality and don't have any telltale signs like bad painting or different materials or shapes and the cases all seem authentic. So with the Oakleys my conclusion is that either they are fake or that Luxottica's quality control is horrendous. With the Ray Bans, either eBay is wrong, Luxottica varies in how they manufacture and package Clubmasters and all the other sources I looked at are fake or mine are fake. From memory, I think RHS say on their website that it is possible that they have inadvertently obtained fake stock and to send them back if I have suspicions but it's now too late to send them back anyway.

Hi Matty,

Thanks for your review. It's great to receive detailed feedback.

If I could just reply to a few points that are mentioned above;

I can confirm that we only supply our customers with 100% authentic products sourced directly from the official suppliers, and have done for over 6 years, in this case, Luxottica for both Ray-Ban and Oakley frames.

Luxottica produce Ray-Ban sunglasses across 5 different countries, as stated within the link below;

http://www.luxottica.com/en/about-us/company-profile/luxottica-world

This will be where the slight discrepancies comes from regarding the printing of the inside arms.
I'm at a loss to understand why eBay would remove the product from their site.

The Oakley frames are, again, sourced directly from Luxottica and purchased from the UK distribution arm. It seems like you have unfortunately received a pair that have either been damaged in transit or have been bent out of shape at some point during their lifetime.

We would also never state that we "inadvertently obtain fake stock," as this simply is not true. We have never bought or sold fake stock. We wouldn't risk our business to do so.

We're officially supplied by all of the major sunglasses distributors; Luxottica, Marchon, De Rigo, Marcolin etc...and have worked extremely hard to build an official, authentic online business.

Please feel free to call me directly on 0191 466 1242 to discuss this matter further or email philly@redhotsunglasses.co.uk

Alternatively, you can contact Hayley Reed at - Hayley.Reed@uk.luxottica.com, she is head of Internet retail for the whole of Luxottica UK.

I appreciate your concerns, there is a lot of fake product on the market. Add to that our exceptional value and customers can be a little dubious of our product's authenticity.

Kindest Regards,

Awful service

I purchased a pair of Raybans from them and no concerns until you return the item. The sunglasses just did not suit me and I followed the return process as stated. They received them back on Thursday, no response from them at all in regards to emails about my refund. Poor customer service as stated in previous reviews.
Never again !

Bad Customer Service - edited.

Ordered a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers, showing in stock on the 28th April, with Next Day Delivery. Order still sat "processing" on the 29th, no delivery had been started.

Called customer service, firstly was hung up on, so called back. Was told the product was out of stock. So not only did they let me order an item that was out of stock, they didn't even bother to send me an email or a notification to tell me this today.

I asked why let me buy them if they are out of stock, the reply was "people must have bought them at the same time". No, I am an E-Commerce manager, it doesn't quite work like that. Again, absolutely no apology, just a blase matter of fact attitude. No offer of recompense at all. Not even so much as a "I'm sorry for the inconvenience"

I am an E-Commerce manager and I know first hand this is disgraceful service. I would never dream of dealing with a customer like this.

- EDIT -

Had a personal call from someone who runs the business, gone out of their way to apologise. The above review still stands for the situation and how I was initially dealt with. However I appreciate someone taking the time out to call me back and apologise.

Highly recommended

Just bought a pair of Oakley Carbon Blades 009174-01. Although the pictures/description didn't mention it, they came in the original box with microfibre bag and carbon fibre effect hard case. Voucher codes didn't work as they were on sale already but I only paid £127 when these flagship sunglasses would have cost me £325 direct from Oakley!!! Free delivery and returns so even if you aren't happy with the fit there is no worry returning. I am extremely pleased with the purchase and still can't believe how cheap they were.

Disgraceful customer service.

First they casually email me on the day of delivery saying it'll now be the day after. So much for next day delivery. Absolutely no offer of recompense for the inconvenience.

Then due to the delivery company screwing up and not following my specific instructions they went missing and these jokers won't have anything to do with it, I'm having to chase the delivery company myself.

Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone. I should have heeded the other reviews and steered well clear.

best price, fast shipping of genuine sunglasses

Recently ordered a Rayban aviator from redhotsunglasses Australia website. the order had arrived 2 days earlier than expected. It was beautiful pair of sunglasses and it's genuine. I'm very happy with the product as it had been cheapest around and receiving with quickest time all the way from England to Australia via Fedex. WILL NEVER COME BACK- HORRIBLE

I purchased a pair of prada sport aviators for my partner as a birthday gift, they were advertised to come with a prada hard case and cleaning cloth (according to the pictures and item description) what I received was completely different, I received a pouch that was labelled prada in a box that was packaged so poorly, I was in shock, I then emailed the company and they were NO HELP at all, they tried to convince me that the sunglasses did not come with a hard case or cleaning cloth? What the! The glasses are advertised on so many different websites and I've contacted individual companies just to confirm and every single one advertised elsewhere does come with a hard case not a crappy pouch that does nothing to protect the glasses which are quite fragile considering they are aviators, if I had known that I was going to be ripped off by this company I would have purchased from a more honest online store, I will never make the same mistake again by shopping at RED HOT SUNGLASSES or recommend them yo anyone I know, stay away!!!!!!! They did not resolve my issue and I had to gift the sunglasses but was actually embarrassed because I did not receive what I expected to receive nor did they send me a hard case or cleaning cloth, horrible!!!

Excellent Service

So happy with the service of this company - they not only matched the Amazon price (which was already cheaper than I could find the glasses elsewhere) but also provided a wonderful free gift wrapping service as this was on offer at the time.

I haven't opened the package yet as it is for my husband for Christmas but have no reason to believe the glasses will be anything other than perfect thank you.
