I’ve been using Reedsy Studio consistently for almost 10 months, and it has become my primary writing workspace. The interface is clean, distraction-free, and thoughtfully designed for authors. Writing, structuring chapters, and exporting to EPUB and PDF is seamless and reliable—especially valuable for indie authors working end-to-end on their books.
What I appreciate most is how Studio stays out of the way and lets you focus purely on storytelling. Version control, formatting consistency, and export quality are excellent.
That said, I do have a small wishlist: native table support, better image formatting options, and more control over image placement and alignment would make Studio even more powerful—especially for non-fiction and illustrated books.
Overall, Reedsy Studio is a fantastic tool for serious writers, and I genuinely recommend it to authors looking for a clean, professional writing and publishing experience.

I am so very stressed after my Reedsy experience, despite having had high hopes in the beginning. I am still waiting on help from Reedsy and am still holding out hope that they will care about my situation, in which case I’d gladly disregard this review, as I’m under the assumption as an entrepreneur that Reedsy cares about their customers.

One of their creators whom I worked with to try to create a website decided to threaten me using some back alley email address after I left him my honest review (having left 4 stars and not 5, due to my somewhat disappointed experiences overall with the project at that point, as one is supposed to do in a review). I no longer feel comfortable or safe working with this man to complete the other half of the project (which cost nearly $2000 USD btw), and have stated such after his unacceptable actions, and yet what did he do but talk in circles until the deadline ran out… Now he’s claiming that the project is over (it is so obviously not done that anyone could see it), and he has adamantly refused to refund me the amount for the portion that has not yet been done. Unfortunately, because the deadline has now passed, I apparently can’t report him for threatening a customer and withholding a viable solution that doesn’t involve him keeping my money or working with a man whom I can no longer trust or feel safe working with.

I need a real solution, and I am pleading with Reedsy right now to help set things straight. Please, do not let one of your creators get away with something like this and leave a bad name for your company.

Update: I’ve continued to receive zero support from Reedsy. It seems they’re fine with thieves taking advantage of those that trusted them. Good to know for the future, or for anyone who sees this and thinks they’ll get support if a creator decides to screw you over. Guess I’m out nearly $2000.

Fantastic company. My book has come to life using their cover designers, copy editors, proof readers, illustrators and formatters. A great choice of artists and an easy to follow system to choose and engage with professionals. You can see examples of work and the pricing system is clear and formally arranged. No hidden costs, no surprises. Friendly and professional. It’s been a real pleasure to engage with this team and make my book the best it can be.

Reedsy Studio is fabulous! Been using it for a week now and I can use it for planning my book, which includes outlines research and so many other options that I haven't even explored yet, and also writing and exporting is so easy!
They say the proof is in the pudding, in this case, I think tons of authors would benefit from this.

So far, this app has proven extremely useful. For my personal project i have been able to work on it without any features that are truly necessary being locked behind a paywall. I do wish that were was a better mobile app than being able to link the webpage to your homescreen, and the ability to export plot notes/private notes to a pdf would help. But otherwise the writing experience is smooth and the pdf export of the book document is VERY helpful!
I did do their trial of the smaller level subscription and while not much changed outside of a few very useful features being available, the subscription was very easy to cancel when i realized that i didn't need some of the paid features for my project. I will most definitely continue to use the service and return to update my review when i go through the editing process

This review is for the Reedsy editor (other parts of Reedsy are great as well, but this is specifically about the editor).

I am co-writing a non-fiction business book with another writer. We started with MS Word, which ran into the usual "slowness" issues as soon as the book got to any reasonable length. Google Docs was no better, and most of the other tools we use (Scrivener etc) did not support cloud based collaboration. We discovered Reedsy studio through ChatGPT, validated the choice with other writers, and we are pleased we did.

Reedsy studio offers us a responsive (i.e. "fast") interface with a good chapter structure, strong formatting and editing options and native support for collaboration / co-writers. It is easy to upload structures and export the finished product. They have support for inline comments and it is a great tool for projects that are in draft / editing stages. We are very happy with our choice.

I am a serious writer, but it's hard to be objective in assessing your own work. My instincts told me that there was something lacking in my latest book, so I went on to Reedsy and hired a professional to do an editorial assessment.
It was one of the best investments I have made in my writing career. The assessment provided me a blueprint for success, and I am thrilled!

Reedsy has no shortage of tools to help us independent authors. They have saved me so much time and money in my journey as a self-published, independent author.

Reedsy is an absolute wonder as a young author! I've been writing for eight years and independently published my first book two years ago, and I WISH I'd known about Reedsy earlier. They have a weekly writing prompt contest, which allows users to post stories to win a sum of money. They also have a network called Reedsy Marketplace, which I haven't yet had the pleasure of using, but browse often. They employ editors, agents, and more with years of experience; then, they help writers get connected with them!

Their service which I most frequently use is Studio, a fantastically formed workspace for writing. It's AMAZING - it provides a copyright page (with different "disclaimer" messages) and a table of contents, but that's only the beginning. They also perfectly format your writing into a PDF or EPUB. More so, they have the Hero's Journey template uploaded into every project you create, as well as a space for idea dumping!

I've used a great many writing softwares, including Scrivener, Campfire and World Anvil. All three of those are expensive, and without paying, they don't give you much (and the Scrivener program itself costs money!). Reedsy Studio's free version is already perfect, but what's more is that the paid one is LUXURY. It provides insight into overused words, a daily writing session journal called a check-in, and more all for $4.99/month for Craft and $7.99/month for Outline (which provides even more features). That costs less than a basic Netflix subscription!

All in all, I recommend Reedsy with my entire heart. They're amazing, and every writer should use them!

Reedsystudio is a great platform. I enjoy using it and it is fairly easy to navigate. I have tried to write books before on Word, but never finished. Reedsystudio makes it easy to write and helps to format things so it looks like an actual book. I enjoy writing and love using Reedsystudio, especially because there are so many options to help with editing, marketing, etc. One of the best platforms I have ever used!!!

A must have for the writer. Very EASY to use and excellent typesetting. Reedy makes it very easy to get published. Saving as you go, continues edits, features like dedications, summaries, chapters, it is all right there. I wrote in Reedsy and then got the typeset copy to publish where I wanted. Reedsy is an excellent platform for authors looking for top-tier professionals. You can confidently trust anyone who offers services on this site, all of whom are verified for their expertise, realiability, and experience. I had a first-rate editor assess and copyedit my novel, and who went above and beyond to polish the writing and structure. Will definitely be using Reedsy in the future for other projects and services.

As a new writer, I have struggled finding a writing tool that offered certain features like chapter staging along with other features that helped me move smoothly from a first draft all the way to a properly formatted, properly structured book that did not come with a learning curve so steep that almost required me to enroll in a summer class just to feel comfortable using it so I could actually be productive when writing instead of spending all my time trying to navigate the UI.

With Reedsy, the Studio is laid out perfect, plus you have people available that specialize in everything from editing to cover design to marketing. Why not do everything in one place? Ya know...

It was great. It did exactly what I wanted and got me a great editor. The site was easy to use, and payment went through straight away. The site seems stable and the support felt genuine. Good site.

Reedsy is a fantastic platform for writers of all levels. Everything you need is accessible through the free version, and the Premium features are very useful and nice to have as well. I love the fact that I can plan, write, and find editors for my book, all in the same place.

Reedsy is very easy to navigate, and the platform makes the whole process of finding and working with an editor feel organized and straightforward. I had a genuinely positive experience with my editor — the communication was clear, the feedback was helpful, and the entire workflow felt professional.

That said, Reedsy is definitely on the expensive side. The quality is there, but the cost may be a hurdle for some writers. Overall, it’s a great platform if you’re looking for a smooth process and are willing to invest in higher-end editorial support.

Reedsy offers quality services and it easy to navigate. There are a lot of resources for a first-time author and that has been helpful. The editor I worked with was responsive, knowledgeable, prompt and had open communication. I could not have asked for more.

It is so easy to use!! I'm amazed at how much info, support, guidance and ease of writing platform is available for FREE!!!! I can't recommend this platform enough. If any one is in the process of writing then Reedsy is a must
