Reformation Tour's Rowena and Frank were wonderful to work with - very well organized, detail oriented and helpful from beginning to end, which all contributed to an excellent experience. There was a wonderful selection of places and experiences to encounter. I enjoyed visiting places that were meaningful in the life of Martin Luther and in doing so, learned more about him, his life and his ministry. The extra locations of Berlin, Rothenburg, Oberammergau, Salzburg and Munich were a good selection worth seeing! For the most part, the breakfast buffets provided by our hotels were outstanding and a great way to start the day!

High praises to both our bus driver, Werner, and our German tour director, Dorothy. Werner had some difficult situations but his superb driving skills managed them quite well. Dorothy was very knowledgeable as she imparted various history and background information to us, plus she was proactive when needed to manage our schedule very efficiently. She was an extraordinary help to John and me on figuring out trains to take and accompanying details for our post tour travel from Munich.

Kudos to Don, who prepared us well for the journey and gave interesting tidbits and information throughout the tour. He was an excellent and valuable resource. Wouldn't have been the same without him!

All in all, Reformation Tours is top notch and a first class operation!
I would highly recommend them.

Rowena, Frank and the staff at Reformation Tours did not disappoint me. I might be a bit biased as I had a major role in planning the tour, but in comparison to other bus tours I was very pleased with the overall tour itinerary. I felt that accommodations were excellent, even the pillows were much better. We had a couple of issues that were beyond the control of Reformation Tours and the German tour director. Roads and traffic are things that you cannot foresee and plan for. When you travel either at home or overseas, you learn to go with the flow and be patient. The selection is local tour guides was very, very good, especially in Wittenberg, Erfurt and Munich. The guides were knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. I did have early and good communications with the German tour director.

I looked at this tour as a learning and experiential opportunity. I am not disappointed at all. I may have visited some of the sites previously but felt that I learned something new. Foreign travel is fun, even when dealing language and their way of doing things. I am a guest and need to remember that it is their country.

The tour book with the bio sketches of the participants, itinerary and background information makes for a great way to remember their adventure.

I will travel with Reformation Tours again!

We were well prepared by you folks and it was such a blessing that Don had journeyed with you. He was a true right hand. Werner and Dorothy were great, and even entertaining. As has been suggested, an alternative to Hofbrau haus would be a good option. Enjoyed the meal but the service was really poor, to the extend that both Dorothy and Werner spoke to their staff. However, the other elements of the tour were great. Our travel companions were amiable and the history and landscapes are so captivating.

Thought the tour was very good. Tour coordinator, Dorothy Kennedy, and driver Werner were excellent. Would also like to commend Don Wolfinger for all his hard work. A couple of the evening group meals were below par, notably the meals in Berlin and Wittenburg. We would have liked to have spent more times in a couple of places like Rothenburg, Salzburg and Munich - but understand the time restrictions. At times we were concerned about some of the older tour participants as they were challenged not only by the walking, but also the considerable stairs at churches and castles. Not sure that part was thoroughly explained.

What a great tour. From the friendly pickup at the airport when we arrived to when we left the trip was fantastic. We were able to see so many things. Had great tour guides, from Dorothy throughout the trip to all the local guides. It was all so worry free. Thank you so much Reformation Tours for this unforgettable trip.

We really appreciated all the attention to details for such a large group.
Since David has reviewed you as well, the only item I would mention was that the upper room in the HoffBrau (spelling?) for Octoberfest was rather marginal. I think we sat for an hour and a half before we got anything and the fact that if you wanted a Dunkel beer you had to get a HUGE one but if you ordered something else you got a smaller one/choice. I said small Dunkel and got too much. When we finally received our meal it wasn't even what was promised, noodles and no veggies!

The service received from Rowena, Frank and their team was excellent. Would highly recommend their company to others for travel arrangements.

Great experience overall. A few minor tweaks to the restaurant choices, maybe skip the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. Our tour guide, Dorthee and bus driver, Werner were top notch and highly recommend them.

We had excellent tour guide and bus driver. Also enjoyed the additional tour guides. Appreciated all the information that helped us get ready for the tour and the packing and travel tips. Big thank you to Don for all our prep sessions and being a resource during the tour. Would have liked more time in Sallzburg and Rothenburg. Hotel accommodations and breakfast meals met or exceeded our expectations. Would recommend some other dinner options if one did not want to do a group meal. Add to the recommended items to bring - a wash cloth.

A distinction should be drawn between the administrative people at Reformation Tours and those who were directly involved on the tour (the tour guide and hosts). We were quite pleased with the process of booking the tour. It was very efficiently and professionally done. We were less pleased with the actual tour itself. The tour director had a difficult time in accommodating the needs of those in the group and on occasion was quite curt. Some room accommodations were below expectations. Also, on some occasions misinformation was provided concerning tourist questions. Perhaps the most serious criticism would be the lack of providing time for a lunch meal on the day in Salzburg in which we went for as much as 10 hours without food. While there were apologies for this there was no accommodation to correct the situation, only that we could purchase beverages from the bus driver, adding insult to injury. Several folks commented that "what if one of us was diabetic?"

What a wonderful well planned out trip! Our driver Werner and tour director Dorothy were fabulous! I so enjoyed following the life of Martin Luther and all the fabulous cities and sites along the way! Seeing the Neuschwanstein Castle has always been on my bucket list and it did not disappoint! So many new friends and memories to share. Thank you so very much!

Such a great trip. Guide was wonderful, always seeking to accommodate and change the schedule as our group desired.

Well organized and available for questions.

Great experience with communication before the trip to answer questions and provide resources. The digital app was quite helpful, in addition to the complete booklet received on the day of arrival. Well organized, thorough approach to navigating Scotland in a new, clean bus with capable driver and wonderful guide in Garroid. Just a wonderful experience of learning about and seeing historical sites.

Tour was good. three problems.
1. The tour of Edinburgh Castle was confusing. The tour guide spent greater than 30 minutes outside the castle just talking. We didn't know how much time we would get to walk around. It was very frustrating.
2. A group dinner was scheduled at the Trout Inn. It should have been obvious to our tour guide, Nick, that he needed to help the restaurant organize how to deliver our pre-ordered meals. Someone should have assigned us seating so that the restaurant knew where to deliver the meals. Also, someone should have called ahead and verified that they were ready for us to arrive. As it happened, they were not ready. We had trouble getting drinks, we waited over two hours and never got fed. Unsatisfactory.
3. The final group meal in Windsor was not organized. The restaurant was not big enough to seat all of us in one location. Poor planning.

We would highly recommend Reformation Tours. From beginning to end, they did an excellent job for us. We were with a group from our church, and everything was so well-planned. We had a wonderful guide! Many thanks to Rowena and staff for such a pleasant holiday!

Gar was an excellent tour guide.
Whole trip was quite Informative. Wonderful scenery and Good weather.

Some hotels were not up to par, especially Oban.

Some very long days with lot of walking and lots of stairs. Assume this is normal in Scotland. Can be tough on old folks.
