Our team of seasoned professionals boasts more than ten years of experience in the financial claims sector. As entrepreneurs and business operators, we understand the significance of maintaining cost-effective and efficient utility bills. Our independent research, combined with regulatory data, revealed that millions of businesses have overpaid on their energy expenses, often without their knowledge. We are now dedicated to ensuring that these enterprises receive the compensation they rightfully deserve, by recovering hidden fees and profits that brokers have amassed without their clients' awareness. Background on the claim Millions of UK businesses have previously used and continue to rely on energy brokers or third-party intermediaries (TPIs) to obtain "appropriate" gas and electricity contracts. As the UK's energy industry regulator OFGEM has highlighted, a significant proportion of energy brokers and TPIs have endorsed contracts that generated concealed or undisclosed commissions. These recommended contracts were not in the best interest of the businesses involved, as they were promoted as the most competitive prices available at the time, while most businesses were actually paying inflated rates. Undisclosed or hidden commissions were primarily linked to a business's energy consumption. As a result, higher energy usage and extended contract durations led to larger sums being paid to energy brokers through these concealed fees. It is mandatory for both the energy broker and the supplier to disclose the exact amount of commission, in pounds and pence, when a broker adds a commission to an energy contract on top of the supplier's base unit rate price. A generic statement will not suffice. This disclosure must be transparent and honest, and the business (you) must provide informed consent to the energy broker and supplier.
