I recently completed the civil celebrancy course with Regent Acadamy and, I cannot recommend highly enough. The course was exceptionally well structured, providing both depth and clarity. It delivered valuable insights into the role of a celebrant and equipped me withbthe knowledge,skills,and confidence required to embark on a new professional path. Throughout the course, the team at Regent Acadamy Portia and Emma demonstrated exemplary professionalism. They were consistently approachable, supportive, and willing to assist with any queries I had, ensuring that I always felt guided and we'll informed. Their commitment to student success is evident in every interaction. Course was easy to follow, I could do it at my leasure and importantly, if I needed help someone like Portia was at the end of a phone.

I have recently received my diploma and cetificate for the Civil Celebrancy course. I found this course interesting and I really enjoyed completing the units, particularly the composing of ceremonies.
I know of others who have paid considerably more for their course with other companies and seem to cover the same units.
I hope I can now move forward and conduct ceremonies for funerals and weddings etc.

I did this course over 18 months at my own pace, I was able to contact anyone from the academy if I had queries and they were quickly answered. Most of the learning was self directed study, I advise if possible, to team up with a practising celebrant to shadow them, I found this very inspiring. The information provided is easy to understand and gives sites to study further which is very beneficial. If this is what your interested in then go for it....but a word of warning... It was not as easy as I thought it was going to be! Be prepared to work hard.

Update!!!!
I had a call from their services and Kayla had not even looked at what the units are. She said she agreed with me and that they are now re looking at the course. The tutors do not work from there.

I was asked to remove review. Which is ILLEGAL, until they make a descion. I refused.
They said they would contact me within 14 days.
14 days not reached yet and they respond on here.

You do not cover all civil celebrant!!
You can't review the materials if you do not have them for 14 days after you send in previous unit.

I signed up to do the civil celebrants course and was very excited.
They give you 14 days to change your mind but the course material take 14 days to arrive and each time you email them your unit, it's takes another 14 days for you to get the feedback.

I was stunned that the civil celebrant course is all funerals. Unit 6,7&8 is only funerals. Unit 3 is like a unit from a social workers course. It's nothing to do with celebrants.

Unit 2 is all healthy &Safety. I understand this has to be covered but a whole unit is absolutely not necessary on any level.

They strip away any excitement you may have had with their units.

I highly advised you go somewhere else and learn from an actual working celebrant.

I asked for my money back when I saw unit 3 and they sent me to a link stating you had 14 days. Even a colleague asked if I was studying to be something In law. You do not get the units in 1 go, you have to wait 2 weeks for the unit once you've sent in the previous. So you have no idea what is being covered.

They should name it
The social and legal side of funerals.
The assessments are all on funerals too.
It is not what they claim it to be. It is NOT a civil celebrant course at all.

I am now with a doggy company and have paid 4 times the amount and it is absolutely worth it. You get a mentor with a real working celebrant. This company has taught me from start to finish how to write ceremonies, how to interview the couple, we have live Q&A sessions and that's just a tiny portion.

Pay a bit more and get a whole lot more that regents academy offer

Civil Celebrancy Course…
I have just completed the Civil Celebrancy Course with the Regent Academy and I have to say that the tutors were amazing and so helpful when I called, emails were answered promptly. My assessors feedback was so helpful and clarified things for me.
I would recommend Regent Academy who were so amazing and being able to study at your own pace is fantastic.

I studied the Civil Celebrancy Course with the Regent Academy and I have to say that the tutors were so helpful the few times I called, emails were answered promptly and the notes on my graded work were so helpful and made going forward towards the end of the course, so much easier.
I would recommend this Academy to anyone who wishes to take a career move forward or to turn to something completely new. The tutors give you the confidence, no matter what your age.

The feedback from my tutor was objective, fair, and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and being able to complete it in my own timetable was really good (especially as I was ill halfway through and had to take a break!)
The course content was excellent, and I felt that I had learned everything I needed to start practicing within the field.
They aced the customer service. I really felt that they cared about me and my learning and also felt that nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend.

I just finished my fashion design courses I and II . I leaned a lot. I think the information in the course material is very good and also I really enjoyed the research and making the projects. The feedback of my homework was very good, and the teachers were always there when I had a question. The course gaves me the foundation I needed to start my new journey. They were also very understanding and supportive of my situation when I moved from England to Denmark and I really appreciate that.

Update: following the inaccurate and threatening response below (defamatory?) I will clarify that the payments continued to be taken beyond the cancellation period and the cancellation process seems deliberately unclear. The course could be accredited by the Archbishop of Canterbury himself, it remains poorly designed, confusing and relevant only to someone lacking the most basic life experience and common sense. I would advise the Regent Academy to refrain from antagonising me any further with passive aggressive and misleading replies..

Unfortunately the celebrant course is confused and takes the notion of stating the obvious to the extreme. It's an arduous process of copying and pasting common sense from the monthly pack to the supposed essay.
PAYMENT - I cancelled as required and they continued taking payment beyond agreed terms.

I have very much enjoyed the Regent Academy Successful Celebrant Course.
The information supplied in the notes and Course Guidance has been very enlightening and engaging.

The biggest asset for me was the Support Staff, previously Becky and now Emma and the rest of the staff. Forgive me for not namechecking everyone but the support has always been accessible, the staff have always been extremely patient understanding and any response by email or phone has been timely and professional.

Many thanks in particular to the support staff and the Assignment marker Pat who has given me very clear, helpful, encouraging and timely feedback.

This being a distance learning course it has been great to be able to reach out any time the have been queries or issues.

I would recommend Regent Academy to anyone I come in contact with.
