My parents had issues with their AC last summer, AC would not turn on. So I called reliance to take a look and repair the AC unit. The AC is 2 years old.
Reliance insist on buying a new one as the current one can’t be repaired.
I told them to hold off on the purchase while I contact a friend of mine who is a licensed hvac technician.
I had him drive 2 hours to the house and check it out.
He found that reliance purposely removed a capacitor on the ac unit so it would bot turn on and they had also cut the wire going into the electrical panel box.
I called them immediately to re-wire it and install the capacitor they had purposely removed from the board and once they had re-installed everything, the AC started working again.
They we’re forcing my parents to buy a new AC unit through their technician.
I live 2 hours from them and they tried to swindle their way to get them to buy a new AC unit.
Going into year 2 now and the AC unit they claimed was dead (due to them tempering with it) is still going strong.
Don’t trust anything these guys say.
Always ask questions and double check or even triple check any papers they ask you to sign.

I am a senior living in St Catharines, I have had two major basement floods ( 3ft water ) in 1 week. Reliance installed a new furnace after the first flood. Cost $9000dollars. After 5 days we had another major storm the basement flooded again. The new furnace needs replacing according to the Relaiance Tech. Reliance a million dollar company refuses to show any compassion or empathy for its customers. Ive been told that I must pay for the full value of the furnace. You would think Reliance would show some humility under unprecedented catastrophic rain fall in the Niagara region. RELIANCE is all about making money!!!
They have shown me their true colours. I will never deal with then again.

poor quality to removal of equipment and follow through with promotions then charge the full amount. To charge for services that are not even in my house from months ago.

Very disappointed. Had a technician come out and take a look at my AC fan motor. Bolt had come off and the motor and was knocking against the cage. The technician came and took two seconds to tell me that they won't be able to fix the fan motor because my unit is to old and the parts come from the states. Immediately recommended for me to buy a new unit. A new unit which was also quoted anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000. I asked if they could just fix the bolt on the motor and he said no that the parts are to old and "rusted". Didn't try to help me at all just gave me the contact number of a guy who can find out how much a new unit was. Oh the best part was that a new unit takes about 12 weeks to get here! No AC that whole time so basically I would need heat by the time the unit came in.
When you live in a highrise condo with certain rules and guidelines you only have a very limited amount of companies who even service highrise condos. Which are: this company reliance, and Aire one (who also by the way came to see about the motor and also quoted me a new unit and didn't provide any help in fixing my motor)
Finally after a couple weeks of looking and searching I found a company (denaeyer) who came out here in the morning. The technician (Desmond) took apart the motor and brought it down to his truck and replaced the bolt for me within an hour!!! No recommendations for a new unit, no BS about trying to get me to spend more money. Just an honest man who saved me from spending over 15,000!

Good Workers
The two technicians were knowledgable and efficient.
They were friendly and helpful in explaining everything to a very senior citizen.
Only one thing--it was a very hot day and they forgot to give me a cover for my new air conditioner and I did not think to ask for one. I will do that now that they are not as busy as in the July rush.

Nathan, a knowledgeable, experienced and courteous Plumber who resolved the real problem with the water leaking from my Pfister handheld tub shower handle and around the tub rim. To my relief I did not have to replace the Pfister cartridge which I had replaced one year previously.
