Surprise, surprise, another remote work site that "doesn't hire in my area." Then tries to refer me to Outlier.ai, another site that doesn't hire in my area.

They don't pay you what is owed
They don't pay you for what you've earned. I have $500 outstanding in pay over 1 month overdue from their advertised 'weekly' payout. The two payouts I've gotten since starting over a month ago has been only a fraction of the amount owed. I have submitted tickets asking for resolution that has been left open and unresolved. I've had to send in screenshots and details that they should be able to look up within their own internal system.
Pay is inconsistent
Pay is inconsistent. They hire rude admins and TSMs that do not have any accountability. They will gaslight you. It will take months for any resolution IF you even get one. Pay is terrible because they don't calculate it right. The support tickets do NOTHING because they have NO authority to help at all. Just to keep you complacent. Pay does hit my PayPal pretty reliably though, when we are not in an Empty Queue and assuming there is any pay for that week.
BE CAREFUL! They withheld my money.
I didn't get paid for my work. My earnings for 2 weeks are still listed as pending, and it's been over a month of not receiving it. Additionally, they removed me from the project. The support team said that investors decided to not pay due to unusual activity.
I noticed that there are a lot of devs who had been removed without receiving their payouts. I found that we had been removed as soon as we increased working hours.
They said we can work flexible hours a day in their job description, but they will kick you if it exceeds their limitation. Be careful, there's no alert, you will be removed without giving any reason and receiving your payouts for hard work.
There should be legal action.
THEY KICK YOU OUT FOR NO APPARENT REASON...
I don't understand how this site works at all. I received an invitation via email, telling me I was officially part of a project. And so I went to open the website to check it out. Just as soon as I opened the website, I received another email telling me I got kicked out of the same project due to performance issues. I haven't even done anything yet.
That is bad company
That is bad company. 😡😡😡
This service is very awful.
Everything is difficult, including updating personal information, which is available in all services.
Also, it takes at least a month to process a ticket, so it's a good thing if the ticket is resolved in even one month.
No matter how many tickets I create, there is no response.
What on earth does the management of this company do all day?
Do they sleep?
INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL, A FRAUD
I was working as an AI trainer completing tasks in field of expertise, Nutrition. After just a few days (as I was SUCCESSFULLY completing my tasks, i.e., they were accepted), I was informed that I was removed from my projects because of "low quality" work, and I was "in violation of Community Guidelines." I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. I proceeded to inquire via 'support' as to what is 'low quality' so that I could make any appropriate improvements in my tasking work. I inquired numerous times ... each time I received a canned response stating that I did "low quality" work. I NEVER received any hint of a reason or explanation. Then I received a response stating that - "not to worry" - I would be allocated to a different project category, but IF I received another warning flag, I would be let go entirely. Well, the fact is that I NEVER even received an INITIAL warning in the first place!! Actually, I received TWO separate emails stating that I would be reassigned. However, I soon received a response from a different rep stating that I was removed from ALL tasking, i.e., let go. Once again, NO WARNINGS, NO REASON GIVEN, AND NO EXPLANATION. This is a completely incompetent and unprofessional organization. To accept an individual as an AI trainer after completing a screening process that took around 2 hours to complete ... and then hiring that individual ... and then giving that individual several tasks which he successfully completed ... to just boot that individual out the door without a specific reason or explanation?? I would say that's pretty bush league. This company is a complete a joke and a fraud. They should be investigated.

Be prepared for surprises, excuses, pay delays, and scamslly signed up for their tasking…
Initially signed up for their tasking platform in March 2023, finally was able to work in June, and paid a fair wage on their Computer Science initiative. By end of August they'd locked me out of their platform due to my use of a Google Voice number for verification. 3 weeks later, I get back in and they've removed me from all projects, citing performance. You can't perform if you don't have access to the platform or a project.
Meanwhile during that 3 months I went unpaid for a week more than twice, siting technical errors and a lack of reviewers to verify work.
This gig allowed me to get by, just barely. Now I'm struggling to find something similar that pays as well. My recommendation is give it a shot, but be prepared for surprises, excuses, pay delays, and scams.
Remotetasks is owned by Scale.ai. They certainly are not hurting for money.
Customer service needs work
During my tenure at Remotasks, I had the privilege of engaging in a productive six-month period that provided a generally satisfactory experience. However, the conclusion of my association with the organization was less than desirable. I was unexpectedly removed from the project I had been diligently working on without a discernible justification.
Despite Remotasks' adherence to a weekly payment schedule, disbursing funds every Wednesday, I find myself in a rather peculiar situation where a week's wages remain unpaid, with no apparent intention to rectify the matter. My attempts at reaching out to them have been met with minimal responsiveness, and regrettably, my inquiries have not been accorded the earnest consideration they deserve.
It is with a sense of disappointment that I must convey my observations regarding the subpar quality of their customer service, which has proven consistently unhelpful in addressing my concerns.
Remotask needs to improve its website
Remotask needs to improve its website. When I opened the task log, I was notified there were plenty of snowberry tasks and that I needed to go to the training first. After completing the training the very same day, I was notified that there were no snowberry tasks but another task that I should complete training in order to access it first.
CRAP COMPANY
This is the worst company there is, their pay for tasks is really low, they don't care about their workers, they kick people out of the project even without paying them, their tasks are crap and nobody should work for them. Stay away from this site.
It's not for everyone, but it is well worth if you are a match.
I am surprised at the amount of bad reviews, because my experience has been different. I've done online side gig work for six years and this one of the better experiences.
My application process started with photo id verification which took a few hours to approve. Next was a five part test which took me two hours.
This is admittedly a lot of time for a test. Four of the five modules were only paid if you passed, so I can see why this place may be flamed with bad reviews, that is the risk you take, but they let you know upfront.
For me, I passed all five parts of the test, and was put on a project within three days. The projects I am on pay at a fair rate, a bit above minimum wage in my state and higher than what many jobs are advertising for in my area.
I've been on tasks for almost three weeks. So far so good. My first two payments came through with no issues at the promised rates. Whether or not this is a viable long term option remains to be seen, but I am extremely pleased so far.
Remotetasks seems more of a fraud than legit work opportunity
I was accepted for a job at Remotetasks for a specific language in a specific location. During the onboarding, I wasn't able to verify my identity due to identity verification not working in my country (according to the error message). Remotetasks Customer Service informed me that they're unable to provide jobs at my location currently and should this change in the future they'll notify me. I couldn't help but wonder why they advertised a job for my specific country in the first place if they can't actually provide jobs there?! Only at that moment did I sense there was something fishy about the company. Upon closer look, emails don't have any official signature or company info, and not much personal identification either (i.e. "Best regards, Andrew" doesn't say much about who Andrew is and what position he holds). I had to conclude that Remotetasks seems more of a fraud than a legit work opportunity.
low pay(not worth_
theyll give you inial to assume you will still get full payment but they dont, this site becoming scam working for many hours but pay to low
Stay away!
I worked doing task for about 3 weeks and then they just eliminated a lot of people for no reason. They owe me a referral bonus if 250.00- for 2 months now— I have reached out many times and they just give me a lame reason as to why I haven’t received it yet. However, the person I referred for her bonus! You will make money for a brief moment, but don’t refer anyone and don’t count on it for a long term job. You will get cheated out if referral bonus!
