I placed and paid for this order over two and a half weeks ago and I am yet to receive my goods. This has been one of the worst online shopping experiences I have had.
On 7 May, I received an automated "Your order is on the way" email with an Australia Post tracking number. When I checked the tracking, it was immediately clear that only a label had been created — Australia Post confirmed they had never physically received the parcel. The goods had not left the warehouse.
I emailed The Remote Shop on 16 May asking for an explanation and a realistic timeframe. No response. I followed up again on 19 May, this time formally requesting either immediate dispatch with confirmed tracking, or a full refund by close of business the following day. Again, no response.
To summarise: this business took my money, generated a fake tracking label to give the impression the order had been dispatched, sent an automated "on the way" notification that was completely false, and then ignored two emails over the following weeks.
Whether this is gross incompetence or something more deliberate, I cannot say — but the outcome is the same. I have paid for goods I have not received, been misled by tracking information, and received zero communication despite multiple attempts to resolve this.
I would strongly caution anyone from ordering from The Remote Shop.
