Extremely poor service, unprofessional and overcharged

We used Removals Zone on 18 December in London and the service was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

We explicitly booked full packing assistance, which I confirmed multiple times in advance because we have a 10-month-old baby. Despite this, the team arrived visibly annoyed that packing was required.

Key issues:

No packing strategy at all – they waited for instructions and created chaos in the flat

Extremely slow and inefficient work; after 3 hours, only a small part of our 43 m² flat was packed

We were forced to pack ourselves, including while carrying our baby, which is exactly what we paid to avoid

I had already packed 8 boxes before they arrived, yet progress was still unacceptably slow

No wardrobe boxes provided, despite being included in the offer

Boxes sealed by hand (no tape gun!!!), wasting time

Staff disappeared for smoking breaks

Very poor English, causing communication problems throughout the move

Incorrect billing: charged until 17:10 even though the team finished at 16:30

At the new flat, all boxes were dumped into the living room despite clear labels

Requests to avoid bringing wet equipment inside during heavy rain were ignored

We contacted the back office during the move because the service was already going badly. Instead of support, we were threatened that the service would be stopped, which was unacceptable given we had to hand over the flat the next day.

After the move, we submitted multiple formal complaints requesting a partial refund. The company never responded.

This was unprofessional, inefficient, and stressful at a time when we needed reliable help. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

The only good thing is that they showed up on time and brought some stuff over to the new flat - but only 66% of our stuff, the rest was unpacked and we had to do it ourselves.

Good company, good service, efficient movers

Anton and his Kazakh colleague xan (sorry sp!!!) were brilliant, Vladimir, Valerie, Dean on the booking team side… all did a brilliant job. Showed up on time, helped me move, didn’t dawdle and were good at advising me regarding the TV (always keep ur tv boxes!!!)

I’d recommend their services & would use them again (but hopefully not anytime soon!)

Did ask for a trust pilot review at the end, didn’t feel pressured and it’s fair enough, word of mouth is how business goes around.

The team arrived right on time and…

The team arrived right on time and finished ahead of schedule. Anto and Han were great. They were super careful with everything, no damage whatsoever, respectful and polite the whole time. Would highly recommend the service

Extremely disappointed

Extremely disappointed — would not recommend.
I hired this removal company and the experience was very poor. During the move, they broke my TV and several other items. They did not tell me about the TV being broken at the time I only found out later when I saw the damage. Only after I complained did they mention anything about their insurance supposedly not covering it.
Their communication was unprofessional, and they showed a lack of accountability for the damage they caused. I am now pursuing legal action because of how badly this was handled, not because of the cost of the item but because of the way they treated me.
I hope this review helps others make an informed choice.

Fantastic move

Anton and Han were absolutely fantastic; they arrived on time, were courteous and got to work straight away. Really really careful with all my furniture and boxes and we were done faster than I thought we would. Will definitely be using you guys again!

If I could give this zero I would

If I could give this zero I would. Save your money and hire a reputable firm. Refused to move furniture as the guy was unfit and a chain smoker, didn't communicate and would spend his time mostly on the phone. They ask for payment upfront prior to delivery which is unheard but request this once they load the van so you can't refuse as you would normally pay after delivery and they persist on cash. I've had items stolen which I only realised after unpacking. They write back impeccably to there emails, which are ai generated as they can't string a sentence together once you engage verbally. Wish I had read the reviews prior to accepting them.

After checking internally, we can confirm that we have no booking from the stated date with complaints of this nature. As the review is anonymous, we’re unfortunately unable to identify the job or verify the details mentioned.

Our team would never refuse work without a valid reason. If an item cannot be moved safely due to access, structural issues, or health and safety concerns, this is always explained to the customer on the day. Keeping both our staff and our customers’ belongings safe is very important to us.

Regarding payment, our terms are clearly communicated in advance. Payment is required before unloading, and this applies to all bookings. This is not a last-minute demand, but a standard condition agreed at the time of booking.

We take accusations of theft extremely seriously and must state that we have received no report or evidence of this. If anything is ever missing, we always encourage customers to contact us immediately so we can look into it properly.

As for communication, we do our best to respond clearly and professionally at all times. We use tools that help us reply quickly and accurately, but every response reflects our own policies and commitment to customer service.

We’re more than willing to review this matter if the reviewer gets in touch and provides booking details. We stand behind our service and the many customers who have had positive experiences with us.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. It is a complete scam.

Our experience was terrible from start to finish. They lied about the hourly charges, and once moving day arrived, they suddenly changed the pricing for extra hours despite the fact that I had called beforehand to confirm all details. Not once did they mention needing a parking permit, yet when their truck received a ticket, they made us pay for it.

On top of that, they broke our TV during the move. The so-called “insurance” they offer does not cover your belongings, which they conveniently disclosed only after the damage was done. Their team took no responsibility, showed no care, and provided no support.

If I can give you one piece of advice for your move: do NOT use this company. They lure you in with a cheap, clickbait price, then shift the costs once you are already locked in and unable to fight back. They mishandled our belongings, broke items, refused accountability, and blindsided us with charges that were never disclosed.

Save yourself the stress and choose literally any other moving service.

If I could give them 0 starts instead of 1, I would...

PS: since the system doesn’t let me add pictures. I have screenshots of the conversation stating a price (that was later changed). The movers had around 4 smoking breaks (included in the paid amount I had to paid). I still had to take some things with me but the movers NEVER recommended that i take the TV with me. Instead, they told me to take 4 boxes on a cab. When I asked if the TV would be safe on the truck without un-installing the base, they said “of course” (it broke…). I asked about insurance and just told me that I had a 50k coverage. NOBODY mentioned those restrictions (it was just hiding on a pdf long document of T&C on their site… just in case). Sent an email to speak with the manager 3 days ago. I’m still waiting….

First, regarding pricing:
You were provided with a clear, written quotation in advance, which was explicitly stated as estimated, based on 5 hours of work. It was clearly explained—both in writing and again by phone on the moving day—that any time exceeding the quoted hours is charged at the agreed half-hourly rate. This was communicated to you in advance specifically so there would be no surprises, and the final duration of the job was 6.5 hours, which explains the difference in the total cost.

Regarding parking:
As with all moves, parking permits or parking arrangements are the customer’s responsibility, unless otherwise arranged in advance. This information was included in the messages sent prior to the move. Unfortunately, a parking fine was issued by the local authority during unloading, and this was passed on at cost, without any markup.

Concerning the damaged TV:
We were contacted after the move and responded promptly. As outlined in our General Terms and Conditions, which were agreed to at the time of booking, electronic items such as televisions are excluded from liability and insurance coverage. This is not something disclosed “after the fact,” but a standard condition clearly stated in advance. While we genuinely regret that your TV was damaged and understand how disappointing that is, we cannot accept responsibility where liability has been explicitly excluded under the agreed terms.

We also strongly reject the suggestion that we operate dishonestly or mislead customers. Your booking included multiple confirmations, written explanations, and direct phone communication, all of which are logged in our system. At no point were costs “shifted” unexpectedly, nor were you “locked in” without transparency.

We always aim to handle belongings with care and to communicate clearly and respectfully with our customers. We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we must also stand by the facts and the terms that were agreed upon.

What could have been done in a single…

What could have been done in a single trip was done in 2 trips due to inefficient folks who couldn’t make use of the space in the van. They have charged my £90 more for an hour extra while they have only spent 30 mins more. The driver wanted to take smoke breaks throughout and was doing things at crawling speed while I had to do loading and unloading myself to save time

Your booking was confirmed as an estimated 3-hour service, with clear written confirmation that any additional time is charged at the agreed half-hourly rate. The job took 3 hours and 45 minutes, which under our pricing structure is correctly rounded and billed as an additional hour. This was communicated in advance and acknowledged on the day.

The second trip was not the result of poor planning or inefficiency. Based on the volume of items listed in your inventory and the safe loading capacity of the van, the team informed you on site that a single trip would not allow safe transport of all items without risk of damage. The decision to make a second trip was taken to protect your belongings, not due to misuse of space.

All working time including loading, unloading, and travel between the two addresses was recorded accurately. There is no evidence that the team intentionally slowed down the job. Short operational breaks fall within standard working practice and did not extend the service beyond what was logged.

While you chose to assist with loading and unloading, this was entirely voluntary. Our service does not require customer participation, nor does it reduce the time logged or charged.

We regret that the duration and final cost did not meet your expectations. However, all charges were applied strictly in line with the quotation, the agreed terms, and the actual time spent on your move. We stand by the professionalism of our team and the accuracy of our records.
