I had a septorhinoplasty at this clinic…
I had a septorhinoplasty at this clinic with Dr. Yazgan. Before my surgery, I was not informed about the potential use of grafts, which I later learned were part of the procedure. I was also advised that I could return to dancing after six weeks.
During the consultation, I clearly explained that I liked my face and wanted only a subtle correction to straighten a minor bump caused by a previous bike accident. I specifically mentioned that I didn’t want major changes or a lifted tip. The doctor assured me that my nose would look natural and that any swelling would settle into my original tip position.
After surgery, I was initially very distressed by how different my nose appeared in the immediate post-operative photos. Although I hoped the swelling would subside and the final result would align with our discussion, over the following months, I felt that my nose appeared significantly smaller and more reduced than I expected.
I later sought opinions from other specialists who explained that additional grafts had been used. I wish this had been discussed beforehand, as it would have helped me make a fully informed decision.
Unfortunately, the clinic continues to take no responsibility blaming my surgical results on impact that didn’t change my result at all, in fact it was so minor the doctor recommended correcting it with filler at the time, and the true concern I had was the fact that 6-7 months later when the swelling subsided and I saw how small, shaved, narrowed and scooped my nose was that I realized that the results I saw the first few months with the swelling were not true the final results. Also, finding out by coincidence from the assistant months later that my tip is still hard cause it has a graft used in all surgeries that I never consented to or was made aware of prior to surgery. However, a hit to the nose doesn’t magically insert undisclosed grafts and doesn’t narrow, shave your radix and lift your tip magically.
While I understand that surgical outcomes can vary, I was disappointed by how my concerns were handled afterwards. I would have appreciated clearer communication before the operation and more support during the recovery process.
My experience left me emotionally and physically affected, and I hope that future patients receive full transparency and detailed explanations about all possible aspects of their surgery before proceeding.
