They do not protect nor renter or the owner. They send you illegal bills to pay without considering the fact that by law they aren't allowed to ask them. You pay monthly but you will not get no legal help nor they will help the owner with basic problems. If you are a foreigner, AVOID AVOID AVOID. You will save a lot of headache by just paying deposit and not dealing with governmental institutions later on, suing them for illegal practices.

Serious warning for landlords considering this

My experience with Rendin was extremely disappointing and did not meet the expectations created by its advertised protection model.

I relied on their system instead of holding a traditional security deposit, trusting that it would provide effective coverage in case of tenant-related damage. Unfortunately, when such a situation actually occurred, the process that followed did not reflect the level of support or protection I had reasonably expected.

Even with detailed documentation, signed records, photographic evidence, and a professional assessment confirming the damage, the outcome left me responsible for the financial loss. This was particularly frustrating given that the damage happened while the tenant had full possession of the property.

What concerned me most was not only the result, but the overall handling of the case, which I found procedural rather than solution-oriented. At no stage did I feel that my position as a landlord was meaningfully protected.

I would strongly advise landlords to carefully consider the real-world implications of relying on this type of system instead of a traditional deposit, especially in situations involving property damage claims.

Rendin is a one-sided business model

Rendin is a one-sided business model. As a tenant, you are required to pay a monthly fee to Rendin. This fee serves as a replacement for a traditional security deposit. However, in the event of any damage caused to the rental apartment, the monthly fee does not cover the cost of repairs. You, as the tenant, will be responsible for these expenses in addition to the monthly fee. If you fail to pay, Rendin may take legal action against you. Think twice before using this 'service'.

Based on my experience

Based on my experience, I would not recommend working with this company. Their financial model is structured around replacing landlord deposits, but in practice, I found that they did not provide adequate support when tenants caused property damage. Instead, they appeared more focused on disengaging from responsibility rather than resolving the issue. In my view, their approach did not demonstrate sufficient customer sensitivity, and my overall experience with them was very negative.

Be very careful

Be very careful. Rendin does not warn you if the apartment has roaches, despite this being common knowledge among local real estate agents. While you may save some money on the deposit initially, it will turn out to be extremely expensive in the end, and they did not offer any compensation.

Bank accounts frozen for unknown debt.

Bank accounts frozen for unknown debt.

It's very simple. They have a low monthly fee of about ~10€ which I've always paid on time.

Suddenly a bailiff from the court shows up at my workplace telling me that my bank accounts have been frozen by Rendin and that I have to pay 1500€ today. I still have no idea of why they think they have the right to demand that much money, and in order to go to court about it I must speak Estonian and also pay big fees.

Avoid if you can, maybe both Rendin and Estonia.
