Do your due diligence

I engaged Tom Horrell of Reno & Build Ltd. Then trading as TH & Jones and just after JRH Construction - for an extension project, for which I paid around £32,000. An independent building surveyor has since reported that the work completed does not meet building regulations, citing issues such as inadequate foundations, lack of damp proof course, insufficient insulation, and incorrect roof installation. The surveyor advised that the structure will need to be taken down.
When I raised these concerns, the Tom Horrell stated that additional payment would be required for items they said were not quoted, but no clear breakdown was provided. Despite assurances, no remedial work has been carried out, and I have not had communication from them for several months.
This is simply my personal experience, supported by an independent professional report.

Formerly trading as TH&Jones TOM HORRELL

Formerly trading as TH&Jones Ltd, and JRH Construction Ltd, now RENO&Build LTD. Tom Horrell of Tetbury. Abandoned our project after a year - claimed insolvency but his former company still active on Companies House 3 months later. House unfinished, major remedial works required to put his sub-standard work right, from terrible plumbing, badly fitted windows, leaking roof, incorrectly fitted roof, walls not straight, incorrectly laid flooring, badly fitted doors internal and external. Always has an answer for everything - broke several expensive items such as windows, butler sink, oak canopy, windows, new shower door, used our expensive oak table as a work station. Did not cover things to begin with so many items of furniture ruined from dust and dirt . From start to finish - although there was no finish - this man was a challenge to deal with on so many levels. Now thousands and thousands out of pocket due to his initial over promising, and very real under-delivering. He has left another 2 families (that we know of) in the same position. AVOID THIS MAN AND THIS COMPANY.
