Oris watch transformed
I didn't realise how much I'd neglected my 28 year old Oris - no wonder it wasn't working and sat unused in a drawer!
Jonathan laughed with me about it. Then he and his team did a fantastic job to service and repair it.
They charged me a professional fee appropriate for a highly skilled professional job.
Now I'm enjoying wearing my Oris every day.
RBP did a great job on my watch

Friendly honest advice
Friendly honest advice about my two watches. Job completed on time at an acceptable cost. I certainly know where to go in the future if the need arises

Quick and efficient
Quick and efficient. Good communication and a new battery put in my seiko. Happy to provide a quote for a very old wind up watch that I sent along and did not charge me for this. I would happily use the service again.

Go somewhere else
Sent an old watch in 20/1/26 value less than £100. Received quote 1/2/26 for £599 to repair and clean. I replied that I did not wish to go ahead and please return watch. Received invoice 6/2/26 for £29. Further chasers sent 7/2/26 and 10/2/26 requesting payment. Watch returned 16/2/26.
They do not make it clear on their website that they will charge you a fee of £29 to give you a quote for any work.

Avoid if you can.
I found this company online and deceided to send my watch collection for servicing and other services. It took them four months to return all my watches and what a dissapointment. Not all instructions had been followed through. Three watches sent back as they could not be repaired that I can accept. The rest sent back with battery change no clean or polish as requested in work order. Two watches needed new straps not done returned with only battery change. Follow up very poor when I contacted the company. DO NOT USE. Avoid.

I tried lots of local jewellers who wouldn’t guarantee the watch being waterproof after fitting a new battery, so I decided to use Repair By Post. I was very impressed with their service and they kept me informed at all times and the price was very reasonable.I will definitely use them again and I would happily recommend them to others. Thank you ☺️

These clowns again!
After a previous Trustpilot review relating to their service, Repairs By Post replied underneath:
"We are sorry for the issues you had , We have no excuses , but your movement is a complicated mechanical chronograph, we did not get right and kept having issues in other parts... Fortunately, this only happens on occasion."
Despite this admission, they've now got back to me – nearly three years later – threatening legal action unless I remove the review.
This will not be happening. The review is entirely accurate. Plus, of course, they have already admitted they have "no excuses" and "we did not get it right".
I almost feel sorry for them, but thought you might be interested to hear how these people operate.

Convenience, cost, quality 5; communication 4.
I have had RbP mend several watches over time and recommend them. The website explains the quotation and posting process clearly; prices are comparable to other horologists but can you find one. The cost is a one off- no contract. Customer loyalty earns a future discount.
Unfortunately, this time there was a very long wait from sending to return-six months. I got in touch and was given an explanation. Fortunately, I could get along without my watches but I was disappointed that RbP didn't take the initiative to let me know what was going on. Hence 4 not 5 stars.
All is well now. My watches are as good as new and despite the delay etc or perhaps because it was explained openly I will continue to use and highly recommend RbP.

Avoid Repairs by Post (RBP) due to lack of transparency
I previously wrote a review about Repairs By Post in November 2021 after a very poor experience. That review was removed by Trustpilot four years later for naming an individual, even though the company had replied at the time without raising any guideline concerns. The delayed flagging meant I could not edit the review, which raises questions about how Trustpilot moderates critical feedback.
Here is my updated account, with names removed:
I arranged to send my watch for repair. Before sending it, I asked about costs and was told there would be a diagnostic fee of £12.95 if I chose not to proceed. After sending the watch, I received a repair quote that was much higher than expected. I declined the repair and asked for my watch back. Instead of the £12.95 diagnostic fee I was quoted, I was invoiced £50. I was told that if I did not pay, the watch could be treated as “abandoned.” I felt I had no choice but to pay.
I cannot comment on the quality of repairs, but based on my experience, I found the company’s communication and pricing practices misleading. I strongly recommend that anyone considering using RBP obtain a written diagnostic quote in advance, specific to their watch model, to avoid unexpected charges.
From reading other reviews, I can see similar complaints. In my opinion, this company does not operate with the transparency I expect, and I would not recommend them.

26/10/2025 - I would like to add to this review and change the star rating to reflect the email I have received. I have received a full refund of the payment made £29, along with an email explaining how they have made changes to their Web site making it much clearer on what to expect regarding charges. When I contacted Repairs by Post from the onset I explained the silver pocket watch was of very low value and I didn't want to spend a fortune getting it repaired. I also explained the watch was only worth a value of £40-50. However, after sending it to RBP they then emailed a quote of £299. I declined the quote as it was ridiculous and asked for the watch to be returned. Repairs by Post do not reply to emails when you question why it costs £29 postage to get your watch back!!

Dreadful customer service
***UPDATED****
*This issue has now been resolved and the (unrepaired) watch returned*
Absolutely dreadful customer service. I sent my fathers watch for a repair quote following a rough estimate online. However the quote, once the watch had arrived, had more than doubled so I rejected the quote and declined the repair. This was on 16th September. I have emailed, sent texts and whatts app messages, added comments to posts on social media and have called and left repeated messages and still no response. They are still in possession of the watch.
Completely unacceptable way to treat customers who trust them with their property

I had a new glass fitted to my Citizen ECO drive, on return it looked all good. I went to use the rotating Bevel six months after and it did not turn. I belive they did something when they replaced the glass. When I contacted them to have a look they wanted to charge me for a repair to something they had broken.

Great Repair - Small issue with item return
I was really pleased with the repair on my Vivienne Westwood watch — the work was of very high quality and used original parts exactly as I requested.
However, I’d sent my watch in a TAG Heuer travel case to protect it in transit, which wasn’t returned. I was told it hadn’t been logged or retained, which was concerning, as it was clearly not disposable packaging but a personal item of value. You’d expect something like that to be returned without needing to ask. Only after following up was the case sent back to me — though a brief explanation or apology would have been appreciated.
Overall, I’m genuinely very happy with the service — the repair itself was excellent. The watch came back looking and functioning perfectly, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again. It’s just a shame the experience was slightly let down by how my travel case was handled. I’d still recommend them for watch repairs, but I’d suggest clearly requesting the return of any personal items just to be safe.

Second time I have used Repairs by Post , but will not be using again.
Watch came back not working & date not even changed.
Found that the crown had not been properly tightened hence not working when the watch was received back.
First impressions when you have trusted your watch with an offsite repair centre to see it not working nor even the date changed wasn't impressed on receipt of watch.
