No integrity. Made it impossible to use so I had to go back to Airtable. Purchased a lifetime deal and they did not honor this. Now, I just received a message that if I didn't go into my account they would deactivate it. (with a "noreply" email). No support. No refund for this unusable version. Not as promised. SCAM!

Anyone considering Retable should understand what happens the moment something breaks: they go silent. No replies, no helpdesk, no updates — just complete radio silence. And this isn’t limited to lifetime users; it’s a pattern. If a company treats existing paying customers this way, imagine how they’ll act when your account or data runs into problems.

Retable sold Lifetime Deals on AppSumo with explicit promises of “Lifetime access” and “All future Team Plan updates.” That was the deal. Today, those customers are pushed onto a so-called “Legacy” environment, outdated, unsupported, stripped of updates, and often inaccessible. Password resets fail, logins create blank accounts, and support ignores repeated messages.

Their official excuse, “Your lifetime account still works on legacy.retable.io”, is a joke. A frozen, unmaintained side-server is not “lifetime access.” It’s a convenient way to get rid of obligations while pretending nothing changed. The pattern is simple: raise cash through lifetime sales, then cut those users off later under a new system.

Even AppSumo publicly confirmed Retable’s financial issues in late 2024 and offered refunds, but most customers never received any direct notification. Many only discovered the truth when they could no longer log in. Retable never sent an email, never took responsibility, never even tried to rebuild trust.

Bottom line: a company that stops communicating when things go wrong has no business handling anyone’s data. This isn’t just bad management, it’s a red flag for any future customer. If they could do this once, they’ll do it again.

This company came on to Appsumo - Created a lifetime deal, collected our money, and spent time improving their services along with Appsumo's suggestions for improvements. They later sold the company, but apparently, the Lifetime deals did not carry over. Now I need to pay a monthly fee for a tool that was sold to me as a lifetime deal. I am sure this was all disclosed in the sale of the company, so they actively made a decision to not honor the deals they made, and did nothing to compensate the people who spent time helping test, improve, and build their App. People who built a business around a tool they were sold as a lifetime deal. An investment in that company allows us to invest and help improve the business along the way and reap the benefits of it being around for a long time, and us not have to pay a monthly fee on it.

I have the same experience as the other ones with 1 star. They dont reply anymore and also they dont bother to leave us without helping to export our OWN data. Verry bad company. That lifetime deal was a scam!

SCAM and lied to us about the lifetime deal

They have moved on, abandoning the lifetime customers. Scammers. Never going to trust them and not going to recommend them to anyone.

website is a lie, claimed to be free, but you have registered and email phishing is part of the business, I think,

Sold hundreds of people lifetime memberships, took their money and then removed our access and limited functionality in favour of profits

Edit based on the reply: we were sold lifetime access with all updates. You have migrated us to a server that breaks down often and we will no longer receive any more updates. That’s a pretty shitty thing to do to your early supporters

I paid for a lifetime license. They shifted my account to a "legacy" server. The server has been down for days. I can't access any of my stored data. They will not answer customer support questions about the issue. There official Discord channel has zero response from the company from the numerous complaints.

UPDATE: They restored access and all seems to be well for now. My first order of business was to download a full backup of all of my data. So, at least I have that in case anything goes south again. Since they rectified the problem, I will revise my score for now. Hopefully, there will be no more unexpected lengthy downtime.

Another scammer company. They became known by getting people to pay years up front in a lifetime deal bait. Within a short period of time they were telling lifetime users that they were migrating to a new SAAS server model. The lifetime deal only works in the old system which will be archived soon. No warnings, only found out by logging in one day. I emailed them and no reply. If they had gone out of business, I might understand as they would not exist. The fact that they took the money for a lifetime deal, then run away from it and started up again on a new server under the same name and management shows you it's just another scam - avoid unethical companies like this with your data even if you pay monthly. When ethics are this lacking, you can't be sure what they will do to your data.

Update following Retable's Response:

1. I cannot access the legacy version at all now, so it's even worse than when I wrote the review.
2. Lifetime deal customers paid for Lifetime updates, by pushing us on a (non-accessible) legacy platform which even states on the header that there will be no updates is not what customers paid for.
3. Your response is simply more lies. As I said, you did not respond to my message nor that of many customers as attested at the Appsumo website. Send a message (if you truly did) to a community only via Discord doesn't help busy people who don't have time for Discord. Companies like yours are always happy to email invoices, but can't email other important topics!

In October, the Retable team announced they were shutting down due to financial troubles. Since then, our team has been trying to work together to find a resolution, but they've gone back and forth on their financial stability, causing miscommunication and further concern from customers.

In December, they announced changes needed to be made to support the platform's long term growth. Customers are able to choose between their Founder's Preferential Plan or maintain their Legacy LTD plan - with some changes. For more info, reach out to Retable at xxx.

AppSumo only wants to put our stamp of approval on products we're sure will last. Unfortunately, Appsumo did not email customers about this, so many customers were not aware until they tried logging in to Retable only to find out they either could not, or that all that had was a cut-down Legacy version which will never be updated.

Again - I recommend staying away from this company - how could anyone trust housing important data with them?

Retable is by far the best app I used. I manage a large team, and honestly, apps like Docs just don’t meet our needs. With Retable, I can manage my team, access my data, assign tasks, and thanks to its automation feature, I don’t even have to worry about tracking tasks—it sends me notifications exactly when I need them. It’s an absolute game-changer. I highly recommend it to everyone. The countless column features make every task so much easier and faster. I have a lifetime deal and they tried to deactivate my account

We waited for a long time to hear from you but we couldn't. Unfortunately, we're inactivating your account because you haven't logged into your Retable account for over 3 months. If you log into your Retable account by tomorrow, you can recover your data and account. Remember that when your account is inactivated, you will also lose your data.

They are 100% scammer and hoodlums they pretend that that send warnings that cause they will force you to pay to access your account this is what the email I received from their support this must be reported to FBI at cybercrime division until now they hold all my important files

"You received necessary warnings in the dashboard area, informing you that you won’t be able to access your account.
To access your workspaces and projects, you need to purchase a plan. After logging into your account, you can purchase a plan from the bottom section."

It's stated as free in Google and also when you sign up. You enter data and don't have access anymore later without paying a subscription. It's a scam, as it's not free at all.

Retable is an up-and-coming competitor of Airtable that offers exceptional value. The software already comes with multiple column types, automations including webhooks, a rich API and, most importantly, an attentive community and dev team that listen to its community. Negative reviews on this platform are unfair to Retable since Retable never promised to include add-ons in the AppSumo prices. The outrage is completely unwarranted.

They sold a very generous offer in AppSumo. Now, they put limits and sell them as add-ons. This is a bad business strategy.

Although it is still in an initial state of development, it already has 90% of the functionality of Airtable and some extra features.

I am very happy with this webapp and the great pace of improvements they bring.
