Disgusted by the reviewelectricals.co.uk
I feel seriously misled by the Bosch Series 6 KAD93AIERG. It was rated 9/10 and marketed as a premium, plumbed American fridge freezer, yet in practice it shares the same flawed design as the much cheaper Teknix THSBS1791PLUBIX.
Both models use a horizontal water tank located below the active air circulation zone. As a result, the water in the tank is never properly cooled by the fridge’s 2–4°C air. With mains tap water at around 22°C, the “chilled” water dispensed from the fridge is only about 18°C, which cannot reasonably be described as cooled drinking water. It is essentially just slightly less warm tap water.
For a product positioned as high-end, this is a fundamental design failure, not a minor quirk. The marketing claim of providing chilled, palatable water is, in my experience, misleading, and the actual performance does not justify the price premium over the cheaper Teknix model that behaves identically.
