STAY AWAY -- FAR, FAR AWAY

I was a client for 2-3yrs. Out of the blue, they completely destroyed all but the homepage of my website, with the excuse that it was for better SEO with Google. Except that 85% of the information about my business was completely erased. When I complained, they offered to reinstate my previous website/pages at no cost, but as they weren't backed-up on any of their "legacy" servers, we'd have to recreate from scratch. Unbelievable.

We do not recommend this company

We do not recommend this company. Unorganized, incompetent and do not deliver on results. They want you to think they understand your business, but they really don't. They created a second Google Business account which caused our current one to become “ unverified.” It took us weeks to correct that problem. We did not get any increase in bookings at our RV park during our time with them. Billing is confusing, we still are not sure if we were credited properly. On top of that they directed everything to a "microsite" which they owned. The ownership of that site was never discussed up front. Very deceptive. The microsite was very poorly created and did not represent us in our words. It was full of inaccurate information and errors. They increased our ad spend without any written documentation. They said it was a verbal agreement. Their form of SEO was to send us a PDF once a month so we could add to our website the key words. I could have googled that information. Their dashboard looks pretty, but shows a bunch of meaningless information. We repeatedly asked for more data on the ads they were running. They kept stringing us along saying “it takes time.” When that time came, they stated the reason we didn’t see results was because our ad budget was too small and it wasn’t going to result in much anyway. If that was the case they should have said that in the beginning. We are a very small business and this was our first year so the negative financial impact on us working with them was substantial. Shame on us for not checking them out on the Better Business Bureau first.

Didn’t do anything

Didn’t do anything. Signed a 1 year contract with them. Didn’t help at all with getting my site visible. They built a micro site instead. Google requires certain characteristics to become first page they didn’t even tell me my site didn’t have them. Paid thousands and didn’t get 1 customer out of them. For what they offer you get nothing.

Stop and read before you sign with them.

I signed a six month contract with them. Big mistake. I was after social media marketing. They explained I needed to be found first. I did not have a lot to spend and they continued to hammer you have to be found first. I was doing just fine being found prior to them. Matter of fact prior to them I had better google analytics.
Then they made a micro brand site. They put a new phone number on there sight, it was a one page horrible sight with a different number. So I am now competing with myself???? So a customers asks which number do they call. I checked it out and sure enough they made a micro site and it had a different number. My site has many pages and becasue I own my site (thank God) and they had no access to my site they made there own. This one page horrible site showed a picture of my shop and flashing reviews. I am not selling reviews I am selling products. When I saw what they had done I demanded they pull there's down. They are not doing anything special that you couldn't do yourself. I have written letters, I have told them there system is not working and today they called to see what my issues are and if social media was what I was after they could change my plan which would be more money. My views are down and the funny parts is the girl said they have phone calls for me, yet my phone hasn't rung. I have no calls. Explain that And on there dashboard since they took over everything is down. On the quote to me it says they will create and update all of my business listings to enhance and elevate your credit score with search engines. DONT GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR SITE.
So save yourself a lot of head ace and money, and if you do decide to go with them make sure you have them put in into your contract what they are doing for you. I bet they will not. I will continue to negatively review and I am contacting the BBB and my attorney.

Revlocal is a huge waste of money

Revlocal is a huge waste of money. If you’re not visible on google for whatever reason, they can fix that, but there absolutely no need to go all in with their targeted adds and brand expander. I stupidly signed a 6 month contract for these extras at$2200/month and it got me ZERO new clients over the 6 months. Such a scam and a waste of money. Revlocal is a joke

The worst company to work with

I’ve had very bad experience with this company. I’ve have been in business since 2020 I allowed them to start working with my company about three months ago ever since then I’ve lost my Google account. They have changed numbers on all my webpages and they’re not doing anything that they said they would do. I feel like this company is nothing but a scam. I’m dealing with a lawyer to see about getting my money refunded due to them not trying to cooperate with anyone and just take your money and not do what they say.

Run the other way!!! You will be throwing your money away…

I would strongly advise against using RevLocal if you are a small business owner, especially if you're just starting out. Over the course of nearly a year with their Local Search Advanced service, I have seen no return on investment—just an overwhelming number of scam calls and unsolicited pitches from similar companies. The landing page they require you to use is poorly designed and doesn’t align with my existing website. Despite months of back-and-forth trying to resolve the issue, I received consistent feedback from leads that it was confusing to have two different sites, ultimately driving potential clients away. After endless frustration, I asked them to take the landing page down.

RevLocal now claims that the lack of results is due to my refusal to use their landing page. However, after consulting with another SEO expert, I learned that landing pages like the one they provide are meant for short-term promotions—not for long-term SEO strategy. Removing the page means all the supposed “work” they did for Google goes away, as nothing is tied to my actual website.

I’ve requested multiple times to speak with a manager to express my concerns and cancel my account, but I’m constantly stonewalled. Each call brings a new representative assigned to my account, creating zero continuity. Since I’ve decided not to renew, it’s clear they’ve stopped delivering the SEO work they promised. My business still doesn’t appear on local searches for designers in Denver, and neither my friends nor family can find it either.

I’m incredibly disappointed, as this company has taken advantage of a woman-owned, minority-owned small business. My hard-earned money was wasted on a service that not only failed to deliver but also felt predatory in nature. I urge anyone considering RevLocal to stay far away from this unethical company.

Please, PLEASE do your research before hiring RevLocal

As a doctor/dentist with 40 years of experience in healthcare, I have never encountered a company more incompetent, self-serving, and morally bankrupt than RevLocal.

From the start, their contract presentation was riddled with blatant lies. Their creation of a microsite not only failed to deliver any value but actively destroyed our visibility on Google, harming our business rather than helping it. What makes this situation even more egregious is the evidence of proven racist remarks made by their salesperson about a member of our staff—completely unacceptable in any setting, let alone from a company we entrusted with the reputation of our business.

Furthermore, despite my personal attempts to address these serious allegations directly with their CEO, Marc Hawk, I was met with silence and indifference. It's clear that the leadership at RevLocal has no interest in accountability or resolving issues when they arise. This company's incompetence, disregard for ethics, and blatant dishonesty make it a danger to any business seeking marketing or visibility services.

My advice: run from RevLocal. Don’t waste your time or money, and certainly don’t trust them with your business.

(Note: Hibu, an H.I.G. Capital company has completed the acquisition of RevLocal For their sake………Hopefully they did their due diligence.)

Do not hire this company.

Please research Rev Local before going into business with this company. We went with Rev Local because we met one of their Reps, Diane thru a local BNI meeting. We trusted her and what she promised our company but it turned out to be extremely damaging to our business. Throughout the years we have built our reputation on Google mostly organically and thought if we did SEO with Rev Local it would really boost our online presence. They did the total opposite, gave us completely false information. All our Google reports have drastically declined. There have been no Google leads whatsoever. We went from organically having 10 to 15 a month to zero. We have requested a refund and of course they have completely ignored our request. We are seeking legal advise as to how to handle this situation being that we have all the Google reports from before and now to show what damage they have caused.

Concerns Regarding RevLocal Account and…

Concerns Regarding RevLocal Account and Service

Dear RevLocal Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my significant concerns about the service I've received since providing my 30-day notice of cancellation.

Declining Performance: Most critically, since engaging RevLocal, my actual internet stats have declined rather than improved. This is particularly concerning as my metrics were better when I was managing my Google account myself.
Communication: Despite my notice, I have not seen any action taken on my RevLocal account. I understand Lisa is on vacation, but I have not received any response from Rachel when I couldn't make a next-day appointment. No one has reached out to reschedule.
Service Quality: I have not observed any significant improvements to my Google Business account, which was the primary purpose of our engagement. Recently, I noticed that my website was removed from my Google account, causing further concern.
Responsiveness: I have sent numerous emails requesting updates and assistance, but have received little to no response. This lack of communication is particularly disappointing given that I expressed interest in potentially adding other businesses to your service if I saw improvements.
Scheduling Flexibility: As a real estate professional, I cannot always accommodate next-day meeting requests. I would appreciate more flexibility in scheduling appointments.
Value of Service: Given these issues, especially the decline in my internet presence, I am seriously questioning the value of the service provided. I have been actively looking for improvements daily but have seen little progress and, in fact, regression.

I would appreciate a prompt response addressing these concerns. Please provide a detailed explanation of the work done on my account, why my metrics have declined, and the steps you plan to take to resolve these issues immediately.
If these matters cannot be satisfactorily addressed, I may need to escalate this to my credit card company to dispute the charges for services not rendered as promised.
I look forward to your timely response and resolution of these matters.
Sincerely,
Kelly Cameron

Services not great

First, I wanted to say I was excited to get started with RevLocal and loved the local aspect behind this company. However that was not the case. There has been no support locally and only support digitally with a strategist who lives in another state. I was told my brand strategist works mainly with businesses in my field of expertise, later to find out this is not true and she works with all types of businesses. There have been a few clear indicators of where the services have been lacking:

1. My brand. My business name was spelled incorrectly several times and in multiple ways. This needed several corrections from me, and I feel my business name and brand are easy to understand and utilize. I have told them where other information or photos are incorrect digitally and it takes weeks to fix, if it even gets fixed at all!

2. Next, getting in contact with my local representative, who signed me up was very difficult the entire time I was working with RevLocal with no answer and no call back.

3. The local aspect of this company is only digital, confusing right? I was told there would be support connecting with other business owners that work with this company locally, then I am hear that the other clients locally are not great people/business owners to connect with. I was looking forward to the local connections however they are not working out and there is no support from my local rep. I was even told after the fact, some of the other local clients are "odd" people and not to connect with them.

4. I was caught off guard with the microsite. I was not told before the contract that it would have different contact information than my business's information, so I feel blindsided with this. I understand its for tracking, and I think this will confuse clients seeing different contact information in different places.

I do not recommend this company, poor communication and slow services.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your input and regret any misunderstandings that may have arisen during your engagement with us.

We understand your enthusiasm for the local aspect of our business and apologize if there were discrepancies between your expectations and the services we provide. While local networking isn't a standard service offering, we did strive to accommodate your business' needs to the best of our ability.

We also acknowledge the challenges you faced with contacting your local representative and the initial discrepancies in the representation of your business name. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by miscommunication and delays, and we are regretful that we were not able to mend our relationship with your business following the departure of your original Sales Consultant.

Finally, regarding the microsite, we understand your concerns about the use of a different phone number for tracking purposes. While we can assure you that the Microsite still allows customers to connect to your business line seamlessly, we recognize the importance of avoiding potential customer confusion, and will strive to provide better clarity around our site functions going forward.

Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to learning from this experience to better serve our clients in the future. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further and explore how we can address any remaining issues.

Terrible company

Terrible company. They take forever to respond or get anything done. They don’t do what they say they’re going to do except for taking payment for unfulfilled services. I’ve been with them for almost a year spent thousands of dollars for zero return on my investment. They charge a ridiculous fee and take two weeks to work up a Google add you can do yourself in a couple minutes. The websites they offer you can have ran for $20 a month. This company is an absolute scam!!!!!

No way to cancel!

every time I pay them seems like throwing money on the toilet, since there is literally "NO WAY OUT'' of the contract at least a review I can do!
I really don't recommend them, I was doing everything on my own and my phone use to ring 2 or 4 times a week, with them it stopped, no one called me for 2 months, so try to cancelled my, there is no cancellation, got to stick to them until the end of it ,the option the gave me is literally extend a 6 months ($1000 per month) contract to a 12 months one ($319), I took that option bc at least that way I have a bit of more money to go back do the advertisement on my onw and save my company
I got back doing way better on my own using freelancers on fivver!

(Edit): I wanted to cancel, you guys didn’t gave me that option, it wasn’t “according to my request”
