I contacted this company for a roof plumber. The plumber initially arrived but left due to the rain, mentioning he would return the next day. He did come back, but after that, he stopped answering calls. To this day, I am unsure of what work, if any, was completed or what the outcome was. Attempts to get information from reception were unsuccessful, as they were unable to provide any updates. Unfortunately, the lack of communication left us uncertain and delayed, making it difficult to plan or consider alternative options during that time.

We had a blocked kitchen sink and my husband called Richtek. Immediately over the phone the guy states it'll cost $1100 of which 50% must be paid over the phone before they even come out. I saw red flags and told the guy we will think about it. I then called Hilton Plumbing who said they don't take any money until the job is done. So we booked with Hilton Plumbing who sent a plumber out later that day. The Hilton Plumbing plumber was fantastic and unblocked our sink and it was half the cost of Richtek. When I mentioned what Richtek quoted he acknowledged they are well known in the industry for their inflated prices. Since then I've spoken to many others who have stated the same thing. Do yourselves a favour and stay away from Richtek.

They replaced a shed roof for us about a year ago. Apart from being rude and unprofessional, they finished a two day job 6 weeks late. I am posting now because we just had some unrelated plumbing done and found that the downpipe they installed went into nothing and was rusting out. No connection to the storm water which was 20 CM away. Run from these guys.

I bought a cleaning franchise from these guys in July 2024 and I had the worst experience ever. They have no idea what are they doing, no training provided, terrible app to "provide" leads, no support. So I lost all of my investment and they even not paid me for cleaning services provided for 2 months. Stay away from these guys.

Deposit paid in August 2023. The job has been cancelled or rescheduled 5 times. Now all correspondence is being ignored, no phone calls returned, no emails answered. I have tried to talk to someone to get a refund, but the only person in the company who can authorise this is on Annual Leave, conveniently!! I contacted Consumer Affairs today

We recently engaged Richtek to do some work in our house despite the fact that they were expensive. We had used this company a few years ago and had a great experience but things have clearly changed. They asked for a 50% deposit which we paid and promised to do the job the following week. Cancellation and delays followed until we finally cancelled the job and got another company to do it. Surprise, surprise - we cant get our deposit back. I have passed it onto Fair Trading for them to follow up. This isnt the same Richtek that they used to be and I would avoid them at all costs unless you are prepared to be stuffed around for weeks on end.

Appalling company empty claims of customer satisfaction and quality workmanship. Charge exorbitant prices for poor workmanship that is not up to standard. Won't reply to emails, not prepared to rectify issues, refuse to provide itemised invoices - which is illegal for work over $7500, but they get away with it somehow. Trades people that turn up to do a job don't know what they are there to do. Don't stick to promised timescales, job started on 7th Dec 2023 were due to finish on 19th Dec 2023, still not complete in Feb 2024. Said they never wanted to come back to us. Stated they should never have taken the job in the first place as it wasn't something they normally do. Didn't find that out till end of January. So far has cost so much money to contest through court and DMIRS that the work they have done is not complete and not to standard.

Terrible experience with these guys. Turned up unannounced to do work guy they sent didn’t know what he came to actually do and after a days work left the bathroom in a total mess and dust everywhere and the quality of work terrible

I worked for this company, they “opened a branch in Queensland”operated under a different name and went into liquidation…completely screwed over staff and clients. Don’t use this service..they over charge and you’ll lose your deposit guaranteed.

Sales person talks up the sale, tries to pressure in a quick commitment. When the job was finally booked, it all went downhill. I had to ask for dates to be confirmed in writing, it’s not automatic. And then trades didn’t turn up as booked; turned up and was less than skilled. Finally had a decent trade turned up - but only once despite the MD confirming in writing that this same trade would be with us to complete the rest of the job. Internal systems just don’t seem to work.
The situation became untenable, the customer service manager threatened to withhold service because he did not like being told his attitude was condescending.
Even when the MD became involved the company was unable to deliver on his commitments.
Only half the job was completed and the remainder of the contract was cancelled in frustration. Richtek is not the only company that provides this service - look elsewhere.
