I had an extremely disappointing experience with Right Cars in Athens, Greece. Despite the contract stating that a representative would be waiting at the airport, no one was there upon my arrival, forcing me to make multiple calls to them. To my shock, I was informed that Right Cars had ceased operations in Athens on July 17th, a fact not communicated to me despite booking two months in advance.
No prior notice was given about this closure, leaving me stranded without a car. Their only solution was to offer an alternative rental at double the original price, which was unacceptable. They promised to cancel the contract and issue a full refund, but 12 days later, I still have not received my money, and the agency has been unresponsive and unwilling to assist.
This lack of communication, unfulfilled promises, and failure to refund have made this a highly frustrating and unprofessional experience. I strongly advise against booking with Right Cars in Athens.

Basically, we could not get the car because they told us that they stopped operating in Athens. I did the reservation 1 month in advance and received zero emails about it. I am happy now as I read the reviews and looks like an awful company.
It is scam, I wonder why stills operating...

The company is a scam. They initially gave me an old, unreliable, damaged lower category car with the excuse that they were busy and had nothing else to give me. When I refused to accept it they offered me an uninsured, untaxed and without legal reg plates alternative. When I didn't accept it either and cancelled the booking they refused to give me my money back. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

Car didn't have usb phone charging port working, neither 12V charging port. No similar car in backup to replace so i was given a broken dirty i10. Upon retrieval they wanted to charge me 20€ cause the car was "dirty". That was the cherry on the cake! And of course they make it sound as if you are the rude person!

Stop the franchise with Apollo Cars Rental! You "Right Cars" knows exactly which scam is going on there! If Right Cars would be a proper Company you would stop every partnership with them if you read all this problems with these scams of the customers! Right Cars is the same Scam company as Apollo Cars! Dont lie to get in contact with Apollo Cars to tell them the discrepancies you know exactly whats going on! It should be a case for greek court!! Next time in athens i go to the entrance of the apollo car building and warn all people before they rent a car of you! Have fun! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

Absolute scammers! They give you an old dented car with low tyres, no working handbrake and breaks and hope for you to crash the car so that they can charge you! Of course they charge you either way because they make sure they "miss" scratches on the car you hire! They charge you extra for everything even if a specific time has not been agreed and do these scams on people who are on the rush not to miss their flights! The audacity on how they do it and steal from you in your face denying pictures and videos is appalling! Carma is a b... that is all I have to say for this company! Also please be careful because Right Cars and Apollo are the same fraudsters! The only difference is whether you want to pay your damage with Apollo which then its under the table and in their pocket! If you want an official receipt from right cars, which is also a fake one, you have to pay double the price! They just make greek people look bad and I hope someone reports them to the police soon enough! One big fraud these people! Staff and owners are all in it! Shameful!!!

They are thieves, do not rent from them.

I booked a car from them online from August 1st to 6th at Athens airport.
When I returned the car I was informed that they would charge me 20 euros if I returned the car dirty inside.
During my trip I only used the car in the morning and in the afternoon I took it to a covered parking lot.
On the last day of the trip, when I picked it up, I asked the parking lot, which also did car washing and cleaning, to clean the car to avoid the charge.
The parking lot, because I had used their services for 6 days and given the little dirt, even gave me a free car cleaning.
When I returned the car, one of their employees checked it and I was not complained about scratches or dirt.
For these reasons they sent me an invoice for €0 via email.
A few days later they unblocked my deposit and I noticed that they had charged me €20 without giving me any explanation.
Since I had not been charged anything at the time of the return, I sent several emails to find out the reasons.
After 20 days of continuous communications they replied that the car had to be returned in conditions of civil cleanliness.
Obviously they told me after 20 days and not at the time of delivery so as not to be able to take any photos to prove what I say.
The thing that makes me most angry is that they wrote to me that I should have returned the car in conditions of civil cleanliness, not even if I had raised pigs in the car.

If you have to book a car, do it somewhere else, they will find a way to steal your money.

After arriving at Athens airport and following instructions to the meet and greet. There was nobody there, many phone calls later which most we were rudely hung up on we found our driver albeit in a t-shirt representing a different company and not holding up a sign as expected, we were piled into a 9 seater mini van with another family and total number of 12 passengers (many not strapped in) we were taken to a gravel car park in the middle of nowhere expecting to collect our nearly new Nissan micra or similar as per the website pictures upon booking but was given a 20-25 year old Hyundai i10 which had travelled 190k but looked like it had done double that! They tried overcharging me twice at this point. Left with 1 child seat for 2 children we made the desperate decision to go with it and leave for our hotel. This was a 35 minute drive away and we already had concerns about the cars health (it most definitely wouldn’t have passed an MOT in this country). We didn’t use the car for 3 days but decided we would drive into Athens city (around an hours drive) and this went without a problem. Although on the drive back to our hotel we had a concerning hissing noise from around the drivers footwell and the car began to overheat, we called rite cars strait away and were basically told we would have to ring the breakdown service (included with the hire agreement) so we did, they told us they would only recover the car and wouldn’t repair it. So we would be left without a car, we made it back to the hotel (sweating as by this point the ac has given up) and called rite cars again (this isn’t easy as they don’t like answering the phone) expecting them to bring us a replacement car. This wasn’t the case, I was told to bring the car back to them and they would swap it. Again in a desperate situation as we had to get back to the airport the next day I decided to take the trip to them, BIG mistake! A few miles into the journey the car died completely leaving me stranded in a live lane on a 70kph road! I was left for nearly 3 hours with no water in 36 degree heat to wait for recovery who just took the car away! Rite cars did eventually bring me another car, also old with error messages on the dash and in very poor condition, they didn’t do a damage report with me (luckily I did as this was important later on) and I drove back to my hotel without any car seats for my kids now! We made the journey back to rite car to drop the car off l, they started quizzing me on all the damage on the car, luckily I was able to show them a detailed walk around video on the car when I was handed it, i genuinely believe I wouldn’t have got my €1000 deposit back if I hadn’t of produced the video. They did release my €1000 deposit and the shuttle back to the airport was quick but still overloaded leaving me and my wife without seatbelts.
I would strongly advise using a reputable company and avoiding these rouges at all costs!

I booked a « Compact car, Opel Astra or similar ».
When I arrived they made me pay an extra 25€/day extra because my Card was not to their taste (Premium Visa)
They also force you to pay their full coverage insurance: « no insurance, no car
All this to end up with a 12 years old Seat Ibiza (smaller than compact), with the steering wheel leather completely eaten up, a questionable paint job, but only 27k kilometers (of course) !

Exactly what others have said. This is a tourist trap trying to grab your money in a verry bad way.
Even if I had booked a premium insurance which was covering everything, they asked for another insurance doubling the price.
When I told them thwy cannot do that, as I already had a contract and I payed for everything already, they just canceled my contract leaving me and my wife without a car.
Oribile company, tourist trap.
Do not even think to rent from them, unless you are willing to be charged double the initial fee that you agree.

Do not rent from them- ever.
Like numerous others (I had not read the reviews unfortunately) I was blackmailed for a different price (mandatory insurance as they called it), more than double of the original booking. I left, with no refund, and no car.
Do not rent from these terrible thieves- disgusting tourist trap.

I went to Right Car rental yesterday to pick up my vehicle.
To my great surprise, they didn’t accept the price in my booking with carjet and wanted me to pay an extra 120€ on top of for ‘compulsory insurance’.
I wasn’t alone: 4 other people arrived at the same time and had the same problem.

I decided not to pay the extra money and to cancel my booking. I went to another more serious rental company.

This company is a joke !
I had a booking with your agency, and when I arrived to Athens airport, I called them and they told me my booking has been canceled because I was late (2h) due the flight…
So, I was with my both infants , outside, under 39 degrees, without any solutions provided by this company. I will see this point with my lawyer because it’s not normal.
Services is amazing poor, incredible. Get out.

I book a golf category and the want give me a Renault Clio, and they said Is the same category… Instead of the Renault Clio I have à Toyota Corolla 9 years old, with a tachymeter are not working… The body full damaged and scratches
When I drop the car, they looking for a default and they try to input some scratches to me… but I make a video of the car… They want take money in any case, so they ask me 20€ for cleaning the car. If I don’t, they keep my caution of 1200€.
They want stole all the clients…
Big deception, because when I booked, the reviews was good, but in reality it was with the broker

Very bad service. First they let you sign all the papierwerk (you don’t take the carassistance) and then they give you old damaged cars. Which fall out completely after 10”. Then they say you have to pay 300,- cash. Otherwise they won’t help you…. In other words let you down.

Athens: beware it is a scam!

Reserved through Economy Bookings. After a lengthy drive from the airport in a shuttle bus had to wait another half an hour to start rental process. Was asked to ‘block’ €1,000 on my credit card as guarantee for damages. Agreed. Minutes later was asked to buy additional car insurance which I declined as I had agreed to a deposit. Was told they would not rent a car without the additional payment. I refused and asked to unblock the deposit in my credit card. They made an excuse ..” it was Sunday..”. Still waiting.
