I recently had the unfortunate…
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining on Royal Jordanian Airlines, and I must say, it was a major (12hr flight) letdown. Not only were the ticket prices high, but the food itself was incredibly disappointing. I expected much more from an airline that claims to offer a premium experience.
Not only did the food cause stomach problems, but the overall taste and quality were also highly disappointing. As someone who enjoys flavorful cuisine, this was a major letdown. I anticipated a delightful culinary journey, but unfortunately, it was far from it.
To make matters worse, the portion sizes were incredibly small. I understand the constraints of serving food on an airplane, but the amount provided was hardly enough to satisfy even a moderately hungry passenger. It felt like an afterthought rather than a carefully planned meal.
Furthermore, the lack of creativity in the breakfast offerings was disappointing. The meals lacked innovation and seemed to be basic, standard choices that did not leave a lasting impression. As a passenger, I believe it is important to have a breakfast experience that is not only nourishing but also enjoyable and memorable.
Considering the ticket prices associated with Royal Jordanian Airlines, I expected a more diverse and enticing meals. Other airlines manage to provide a wider range of choices. Unfortunately, Royal Jordanian Airlines fell short in this aspect.
Finally, the combination of high ticket prices and subpar food left me feeling dissatisfied and regretful of my choice. If you're someone who values quality dining during your travels, I would strongly advise exploring alternative airlines that prioritize culinary excellence.
This took place at Toronto airport / RJ…
This took place at Toronto airport / RJ counter. I am not reviewing the airline, just the service at the check-in counter where I had to deal with a lady that must have not gotten enough sleep or have issues. She was very rude and tried to lecture me about not buying business class tickets rather than economy for my parents, she kept going on and on. She had an accent and I could not get everything she was saying, but I had enough and cut her off and said I really don’t need a lecture just please process our passes so we can get going. Looks like I hit a nerve lol as she did not like that saying I was rude and would not assist me. Well, she did after I said; don’t make me start a scene here and get your manager. That’s when she backed out and printed my mom & dad’s passes but with an attitude lol. Although I liked her white frame glasses.
RJ needs to really get qualified people that excel at customer service.
Omran Simran flight attendant
Hello, I would highly recommend Omran Sami, flight attendant, he was very friendly, smiling during the whole flight, cooperative when something needed, and took care of passengers. My flight was from Jordan-Amman to Canada-Toronto, it’s a long distance flight and without him I wouldn’t have the same experience I had with RJ.
Thank you RJ for hiring high qualified flight attendant like Omran.
The worst service ever
The worst service ever!
I booked i ticket and later the flight has been cancelled and they send me new date and timing with a long transit duration which i didn't accept
I called all the RJ offices and i sent many emails but they refuse to schedule it as per the time i booked and they held me responsible of the cancellation they did.
Worst service ever
Refused full refund for flight change to another day
Avoid at all costs, they didn't tell us about a proposed 1 day change to our flights until we were travelling without wifi, only found out when we turned up at the airport to check in.
No desk, so I had to call at great expense from Lebanon to ask them to get us onto a flight later that day to avoid being stranded in Beirut (which they didn't offer to compensate either). They couldn't get me onto the flight as it was 'full' but we managed to get onto the exact same flight with ME airlines as it was a code share. I was assured on the phone I would get a refund from RJ, but low and behold they are taking $50 off each ticket plus an admin fee under the original booking rules.
Why should we be subject to fees when we were happy to get those flights and you changed them to over 24 hours later! Nearly ruined our time in Jordan as we would have lost a day and missed out on our time allocated to Petra. Never again, book with MEA!
I have read a number of reviews about…
I have read a number of reviews about their cheap broken planes but I didn't expect to be in one - Seat 17B from Amman to London RJ111 the plane was cheap dirty and dangerous - staff rude and very unhelpful.
The seat total came off when you sat or you could just pick it up - Crew forced me or my 2 years old to sit on this and then didn't help at all. I was forced to carry my child on a 5 hour flight. I even ended up cutting myself on the sharp broken metal seat.
On arrived to London i complained to the CEO who offered me 35% off my next RJ flight. I don't think this person understand that once you have travelled with RJ you will NEVER travel with them again even for FREE!!
I reviewed their airline on google and then got a call to say because i have done this the CEO have withdrawal the 35% discount - the same offer i rejected.
I mean how old is the CEO- acts like a child. I would avoid travelling with this dangerous airline.
BROKEN SEATS, TAPPED UP SCREENS/ TV, AND RUBBISH FOOD.
Royal Jordian, dont buy tickets from Them
About 1 year ago we board 2 tickets Copenhagen Cairo and back, Royal Jordian changed fliget with 48 hours, we shouldt wait 48 hours in Aman. We did make a complain, and expected money back. And did buy new tickets. Now here close to a year after they keep writing same mail, for about 4 time :
Dear Mr. Alstrup ,
We apologize for the delay , as we informed you in our previous emails there are some legal points to be solved and until now, we didn't receive any
information from the legal department .
Best regards ,

March 19, 2023 , RJ504 Airline reference KKR337. This flight got canceled No one to help at airport. Had to stay for one night in Cairo.+ travel + hotel+ arrange for funds + buy 2 one way back tickets to XNA. It costed me more than $2100.00
And now they say we are not responsible as it is third party reservation. The third party says we did the reservation for Royal Jordan and we cannot do anything contact RJ.🥵 NOT RELIABLE AIRLINES AT ALL.
absolutely ridiculous airline that…
absolutely ridiculous airline that doesn't give you chance to change or cancel your flight on their web site. so before you have regret look elsewhere at all costs...
Luggage Badly Damaged; Negligible Compensation Offered
My luggage was badly damaged whilst in the care of Royal Jordanian; so badly damaged that their repairer said it could not be repaired.
They offered me a replacement bag from a brand I've never heard of and a bag model that only appeared to be available from their supplier. Its list price from their supplier was about half what it would have cost to replace my damaged bag, from a well-known brand, with a similar bag from the same brand. They supplied very limited information on the bag, not even telling me what material it was made from. They wanted me to accept it in full and final settlement without seeing it first. I said I would not accept it as a replacement without seeing it first. They did not respond to this.
Instead, they offered me a contribution towards the cost of buying a bag from a well-known brand. It was only 31% of the cost of buying a bag that they did not dispute was an equivalent replacement for the damaged bag. The offer had strings attached as well. They would buy the bag for me and I could only choose a full-price bag. Their offer was not available for reduced price bags. Whilst they are entitled to make a deduction for wear and tear on the damaged bag, I do not consider a 69% reduction for a little-used, good condition, 3 years old bag to be reasonable.
They claimed their offer was the same as an insurance company would offer me. It was not. They admitted that they had determined their offer based on the price I paid for the bag in a sale, not the current replacement cost that would not have been at a sale price. Even at their incorrect replacement price, the wear and tear deduction seems excessive. I found an insurer that listed what they would deduct for wear and tear, depending on the age of a bag. Royal Jordanian's deduction was 3 times the insurer's figure.
Royal Jordanian refused to increase their offer so that it provided full compensation for the damaged bag.
As I bought the airline ticket with a credit card, the credit card company is jointly liable with the airline for the loss I suffered. I claimed against them instead and received full compensation for the loss.
I will not be flying with Royal Jordanian again.
Scam Company - GoCrown Upgrade is a Scam
They advertise a GoCrown upgrade, where you pay $100 for either 1 seat, or $200 for two EXTRA SEATS. You'll usually get this email a couple days before the flight and have to book fast if you want to take advantage of the upgrade. I recently did this and all was going well until I got on the plane. Flight Attendants seemed to know I'd paid for the extra seats, but continually asked to take them away or give them out to other passengers who simply wanted to relocate. Yeah - so I should pay $200 for someone else??
At the end of my flight, a pushy flight attendant relocated a man to my aisle seat which I paid for "because he wanted to be closer to the exit" for de-boarding. At first I thought it was because he wanted to be near his family but then he said they were all in the back of the plane and he wanted to be closer to the exit. There were multiple other empty seats offered to this man nearby but he stayed in mine. Apparently at Royal Jordanian, if you want to be closer to the exit you can just be relocated willy nilly, including in other seats paid for my other travelers. I'm going to request to be moved to First Class next time since they're closet to the exit! Sounds ridiculous right?
When I contacted RJ for a refund of at least the one seat that was taken, they seemed to be unaware of this and also unaware of the policy of GoCrown which allows you to book 2 extra seats, not just 1. I showed them photos of the seat occupied and the fact that they CLEARLY advertise TWO EXTRA SEATS, which were PAID FOR. Their own customer service reps seems to not understand the GoCrown advertising which is being sent to customers.
They're clearly scamming customers. They want you to pay extra money up front, and then they'll just do whatever they want on the flight because they've already charged you and won't refund your card. What a scam. So sad that an airline that used to be good has become so strange and dishonest to their customers. If they offered me a refund of the seat, I would change this review because at least that would be good business move but I doubt that they will.
Delayed flight from Jordan to New York
Delayed flight from Jordan to New York, and nobody fro Royal J to get hold of in the airport or on the phone. So I bought a new ticket from JFK to SFO, and royal J won't refund it.
Worst management
Worst management. They don’t know how manage the boarding.
We have to go through 2 security checks fir no reason.
One person managing the boarding of two departures.
The country is nice. But Royal Jordanian has no future with this kind of management.
Stay away from RJ
Yesterday I came back from Medina to Kansas City in royal Jordanian I plan never to travel from this airline. The food quality is really bad the entertainment system sucks very limited the planes in poor condition with flies inside on a 14 hour flight they offer you poor quality food on 2 times even there airport sucks my take is that stay away from this airline
I was denied a pillow at a flight from…
I was denied a pillow at a flight from Medina to Amman, the reason was it was a short flight..
They have the pillows but we need to book a longer flight to deserve it.
Not impressed at all!!!
Worst airline ever
Worst airline experience in 40 years of frequent flying
Flying from London to Kuwait via Amman in Business class. Chose this airline as it is a One World alliance member where I’m a frequent flyer. Flight from Amman to Kuwait was delayed by almost 24 hours. Hundreds of passengers were literally dumped in a 2-star hotel (claiming to be 4-stars) near the airport middle of the night. No airline representative available. Hotel refusing to allocate rooms as airline had not informed them. Total chaos, shouting, screaming etc. I would have gladly made my own arrangements but turns out airline had issued a highly restrictive visa which confined everyone to this hotel only ! I qualified for a tourist visa on arrival based on my citizenship but was never informed. It took about 4 hours to get my room and the whole night had passed by then. Room was in bad shape - broken furniture, dirty linen, no towels in the bathroom. Other flights were also delayed/ cancelled. No apology from airline, no explanation, no empathy, zero customer service. Please avoid this airline at all costs. Flights do get delayed / cancelled but no airline I know of treats its paying customers with such contempt. This level of apathy can be life-threatening for vulnerable passengers in an emergency.
Fair service
Worst Airline
Well, they do an schedule change which does not fit anymore my plans and they refuse to refund. Customer care is rude aswell. I think worst airline I have deal with
Insulted by staff at boarding gate
The flight went very smoothly (Amman-London), but I have never been so insulted by boarding staff in my life. After scanning my boarding pass, the agent asked me if I was pregnant??!!!
I know that I’m not the skinniest person, but that was just insulting and made me feel bad for the rest of the fight (and after).
