Good instructor, terrible attitude
Robin was Class 4 instructor. My first clue should have been on our first meeting, when he launched into an unprompted dismissal of bad reviews he's gotten for how he deals with customers. I had not asked. I can see some of them now, and yes -- same sort of experience. He is smart, a decent instructor, owns the company, has a good vehicle and knows his stuff. The problem is the personality -- Robin will not listen carefully and will miss the point of your question. If you try to correct him he will then argue with you that he did not misunderstand, or that you said something else. He will be occasionally condescending, and offensive, and if you try to discuss that with him he will insist that no, he was not, he knows how to be courteous, and he will show no interest whatsoever in why you were offended. He could be a really good instructor but for the narcissism and arrogance. The training itself was good, but the experience was quite regrettable. If you have a thick skin and want to save a few bucks on Class 4, go for it. Otherwise go somewhere else and save yourself the aggravation of dealing with that personality.
