Very disappointed

I was looking for a note taking software to implement Zettelkasten method in my routines. After a 5min test using their 1 month trial, I wasn't convinced by Roam Research, seemed too rigid and archaic to me, and moved to Obsidian, which is way better on many aspects. 1 month later, I realized I've been charged 154.13€ for an entire year of premium subscription, totally forgot about it. It sometimes happens to me, and when it does I send a message to the support in a very polite way, explaining that I was curious about testing their product in the first place, however I tend to be very forgetful about trials, and that I would like to be refunded. People, most of the time, understand that, and I get a refund. I mean I used their product literally 5 min, 154€ for 5min makes these minutes very expensive, right ? But not Roam Research. Support guy just answered me 'I'm sorry I can't do this for you' twice ... And it made me very disappointed. Charging someone for a 12 months subscription after a 1 month trial seems like a 'try and forget' strategy, making profit thanks to forgetful people like me, and it is a very unethical and irresponsible attitude. I don't recommend Roam Research. Go try Obsidian, way cheaper (and way more powerful). And their business model doesn't stink.

Exceeded my expectations and continues to do so

A good note note-taking app helps you record and organize information, but RoamResearch is much more than that; it’s like I'm programming in the language of my thought. Equally life-changing, it's taken the burden of continually feeling the need to organize.

Like any programming language, there is a learning curve. Do yourself a favor and take the time to learn the basics. I suggest you check out the YouTube Video playlist by R.J. Nestor “Roam Reaearch”.

Best experience I've had yet on a new notetaking app. Been using it daily for a month so far and im still stoked on it. Price is fair enough. Missing one star for no mobile app (yet), which means I end having to use native notes to take notes on the go before transferring to roam when at my laptop.
