Glive experience, Guildford

I went along to experience jazz, instead it felt like a dull documentary about Ronnie Scott! If this was on TV I would have switched over for sure. Yes they played some songs but pace was slow and a painful 2 hours! They could improve the experience enormously by having an area where people can dance, more of a vibe and in a different venue. I've been to many clubs over the years, sitting and watching jazz loses the appeal. The female singer also shouted most of the songs rather than sang them. All in all disappointing.

Ronnie Bain review

Ronnie Bain came to fix a broken socket in my house and I was very impressed with both the professionalism about being neat and tidy, and also his friendly manner.
Ronnie arrived on time and was consistently communicative about work he was carrying out. 10/0 would hire him again and recommend him to friends and family! Thank you so much

Great venue

Great venue, some fantastic music too. Drinks and food are ok, but that’s not why you go there!

A night to remember

Myself and my wife recently visited Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club to see one of my drumming heroes the great Billy Cobham. The whole experience was absolutely amazing, fantastic, brilliant, from start to finish. For many years I have wanted to go to the club and see Billy so I was able to achieve both in 1 visit. We absolutely will return to this incredible live music venue.

Almost 5*

One of the best venues in central London for good quality Jazz music.
Not quite 5 star as the security on the door can be a bit “heavy” but if you are looking for a good night, like great music and can get a ticket to get in, then DO IT!

Going to The Smoogies’ show at Ronnie…

Going to The Smoogies’ show at Ronnie Scott's was an experience I’ll never forget. Their music is like nothing else—mixing all kinds of genres into something fresh and soulful that hits you right in the feels. From the very first note, it was clear this wasn’t just another gig; it was something really special.
The chemistry between the two drummers, Harvel Nakundi and David Chiverton, was absolutely mesmerizing—watching them in perfect sync was a spectacle in itself. Dion Kerr’s approach to the bass was unlike anything I’ve heard before, with intricate, dynamic lines that added a whole new dimension to the music. Vaughn Henry’s stunning vocals and masterful work on the keys tied everything together, creating a sound that was both ethereal and electrifying.

This was, without a doubt, the best live show I have ever attended. The energy, artistry, and passion on that stage left a lasting impression, and I cannot wait for The Smoogies to return to Europe. Until then, I’ll carry this unforgettable night with me.

Enchanting.

Ronnie’s was on my bucket list for some time and I’ve now been twice in six months. I love the ambience of the place and the staff are friendly and helpful. I saw Curtis Stigers both times and he was fantastic. Well worth the 400 mile round trip. There’s nothing like Ronnie’s

Staff are excellent and so are the shows

Went to see Omar with my mum last night, the show was incredible and the artists are so talented. I just want to say a special thank you to Ido and other staff members at Ronnie Scott’s for making the night so memorable. I ordered a standard ticket and restricted ticket (as there were no more standards left) for my mums bday celebration in advance. I asked the staff to sit me with my mum and they seated us together on the night even though it was incredibly busy. Thank you so much.

A Shambles from start to end!

I went to Ronnie Scots 13 years ago and had a ball.
I've tried to get to get tickets for our London trips, but it was sold out. So with a celebration in the big Smoke looking we pre booked tickets for March 15th.
We had to que for 40 minutes in the cold but we were so excited, we just put up with it. Unfortunately, "Better upper class" customers pulled up in their fancy cars and were allowed to skip the que and push in. Not members as there was a separate queue for them. THIS WAS INSULTING.
Once inside it took a further 49 minutes to get a drink. We went to the bar and gave our order to wait a further 15 minutes then get a service charge for that honour. The sound was crakly and poor. The Act was depressing and it all sounded the same.
We managed 1 drink in the whole tome as the waiter just ignored us all night. The most attention he paid was as we were leving to make sure we paid the drinks bill. He was rude and stank of stale cigarettes. Probably what he was doing all night instead of being available to serve us.
A massive shame and let down to our weekend. We had travelled a long way and prioritised the Ronnie Scots experience over other things we could have done that would have been more enjoyable.
An absolute Shambles.

Great music/ rip off prices/added service feee

Great music, intimate venue, lovely atmosphere: however time it takes to get served at the bar is unacceptable, the price of drinks are hugely overpriced and most importantly it’s vital to share with you that you are all being charged a service fee for queuing and buying your own drinks at the bar!! They do not tell you, there’s no justification for this whatsoever. Check your receipt

Simply the best

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful experience I have had as a member of Ronnie Scott's over the past 10+ years.

Ever since I first stepped foot into your iconic jazz club, I have been blown away by the world-class music, impeccable sound quality, and the warm and friendly atmosphere that permeates throughout the entire venue. It has truly become my second home and a place where I can escape the stresses of daily life and immerse myself in the magic of live jazz music.

The music schedule at Ronnie Scott's is nothing short of fantastic. I have had the pleasure of witnessing some of the most talented musicians from all over the world grace your stage. From the legendary Chick Corea & George Benson to the up-and-coming jazz artists, each performance has left a lasting impression on me. I am always amazed by the variety and diversity of acts that you bring in, making each visit a unique and unforgettable experience.

I must also commend you on the impeccable sound quality of your venue. As an avid jazz lover, I can confidently say that Ronnie Scott's has one of the best sound systems I have ever encountered. It truly elevates the music and allows for a more immersive and intimate experience for the audience.

Last but certainly not least, I want to express my appreciation for your wonderful staff. From the moment I walk through the door, I am always greeted with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm for jazz, funk & soul. They have always been incredibly helpful and accommodating, making sure that I have the best possible experience every time I visit.

As a long-time member, I have had the pleasure of witnessing the continued growth and evolution of Ronnie Scott's. I am proud to be a part of such a prestigious and iconic establishment and I look forward to many more years of being a loyal member.

Thank you once again for all that you do to promote and preserve the art of jazz and live music. Ronnie Scott's will always hold a special place in my heart and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this legendary jazz club.

What happened to Ronnie Scotts?

What happened to Ronnie Scotts?, I used to frequent Ronnie Scotts in the 80s/90s, all I can say about the music at Ronnies around that time was pure quality jazz music/musicians. I attended an event on Dec 11th 2022, the main show, W3 FUNK SESSIONS. The event was lively and upbeat, and I suppose if you were new to jazz, W3 FUNK SESSIONS would be ideal for small weddings or a float at a small carnival in a small city unfamiliar with jazz music, but the act was most certtainly not suitable for a jazz club with a strong reputation.
We paid in total £85 to watch W3 FUNK SESSIONS, t he show and poor execution of talent was an insult.
W3 was a novelty, a tourist attraction. I wont return, it was hard enough to listen to the music, never mind the dancing.

Curtis has evolved to be one of the best jazz singers and sax players in the world. A little story telling and incredible music made the evening unforgettable.

Poor Sound & All About The Money Now

Had to travel 400 miles round trip for this. bought my ticket months in advance but still had to queue outside. late opening & performance started late; so had to leave before the performance ended.
Poor acoustic's now; since moving the bar, the musicians are playing on the long wall.
I WON'T GO AGAIN.

Seriously lacking Customer Services…

Seriously lacking Customer Services Skills
After purchasing 2 tickets in excess of £100, I received a confirmation email stating the following: Total 2 2 £105.00
THIS ORDER IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.
During this time my wife developed Covid-19 symptoms, so decided that for the good of the rest of the people that evening we would have to miss out. I received a call from the club at 9.30pm asking where was I and was I still coming, I explained the above and was then told " No that's wrong, you can get a credit note for another evening. Phone the box office tomorrow!"
Eventually I get through on Saturday, to be told witha sarcastic chuckle
"if you had the decency to of informed us prior you could of got a credit note but no not now, as we were unable to sell your tickets " WHAT...
After losing 3 family members to Covid-19, staying away for the sake of the club, reading their emails which clearly states
THIS ORDER IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.
And being laughed at by the woman on the phone, wild horses couldn't drag me there.
Absolutely gutted I can't meet her in person.
Serious lack of information and professional experience
I am 55 years old and have always wanted to go there. Thanks for bursting my bubble
