It’s magic in a can!
Since 2024 I have meant to praise Ronseal for their one coat white paint (for mold and dampness) that eradicated the sudden unexplained appearance of wet walls. Drip marks were actually visible.
It cost nearly USD $500 to import 3 quart size cans but only 2 were used for a 14ft wide x 10ft tall blank wall.
It’s now 2 years later without further issues.
This year we pulled the spare can out to treat another area affected by water penetration due to an exterior crack. We must do the repairs before reviewing the 2nd situation but based on The 1st use I highly recommend this product that does what it says!

Brought a Ronseal precision finish paint fence sprayer
This piece of kit is totalling unfit for purpose. I followed the instructions to the letter and after painting 1 panel the sprayer blocked continuously after just a couple of seconds.
I resorted to painting the panels by hand using Ronseal’s spray paint. A very expensive way of doing the job.
I would not recommend this product to anyone else.

Further to my last review of Jan 14th and before . I finally , after applying primer and undercoat , managed to apply a reasonable top coat of your ONE coat tile paint and thought I had cracked it . Fear not , it is now flaking off in places. I DESPAIR!

We bought their 5 year fence paint in warm stone , it took 5 coverings before it looked complete, then faded and washed off in less than 10 months, we contacted Ronseal who fobbed us off and insulted us by offering 2 free tins , I would strongly avoid using and stick to a better branded fence covering

Ronseal Stays White Satin 2 in 1 primer & paint. Followed the instructions but this product does not cover at all. Painted on an original white surface but had to put 4 FOUR! coats of paint on to make it look reasonable. I will never buy this again.

Payed alot of money for decking area, used Ronseal Decking Paint, followed instructions on tin, looked fantastic, 3 months later, brown stains all over decking. Contacted Customer service only to be told I used too much paint and hadn't given time to cure.
Painted decking on nice summer day, left to dry the correct time then applied second coat.
Product not fit for purpose, call centre waste of time, hung up on me twice.
Avoid using these products, dosent do what it says on the can.

Still no reply from their “customer service” after the standard response they send everyone that leaves a bad review, I think the best thing to do for all the ripped off customers is to report them to trading standards as there products are not fit for purpose! And form a collective group.

I am waiting for a complaint to be resolved with the company regarding the poor performance of their Fence Life Plus paint, which is advertised thus:
" This is our toughest and most versatile fence and shed treatment yet. It protects against rain, frost, snow and it won’t grey in the sun. It can be used on rough sawn and smooth planed sheds and fences and it lasts for up to five years."
However after two years the paint on the shed is in a terrible condition and needs to be rubbed down and re-painted. Customer services have been extremely unhelpful even though I have sent all the photos and proof requested and answered numerous questions. The paint has not done the job it was sold for, and I have had better results with cheaper own brand paint.

I can’t stipulate enough how rubbish Ronseal one coat black Tudor fence paint is. For a start it took four coats to cover a once red fence, and then after a few weeks it started to rub off. Now loads of it is washing off with the rain or snow. Ronseal please look at this product, it’s absolutely garbage

Wood filler colour misleading. I have been happy with Ronseal over the years so bought a wood filler for a project. The colour shown on the front is way off. Yes it dries à bit lighter (just a shade lighter) and ‘colour reproduction is approximate’ but they might as well not bother. £8.99 down the drain for me.

If I could give it no stars I would. I'm talking about Ronseal ultra tough gloss paint that stays white allegedly .
This product is absolutely dreadful ! it's more like PVA inconsistency despite manic stirring!
It's thin with the consistency of an opaque varnish. THIS IS NOT GLOSS paint. It drips and spills everywhere, and destroyed my kitchen, floors and skirting boards.
Don't take my word for it, waste your money like I did, YOU WILL REGRET IT
!!!
I would never buy it again.
It is disgusting that this company calls it a paint. I HAVE SEEN THICKER PORRIDGE !!!

I bought a 10 year Ronseal dark oak for an exterior gate.
After 3 coats it was nowhere near the dark colour it shows on the tin
Absolute sh___.
Complete waste of my time.
Wish i'd of got some Sadolin instead.

Regarding Ronseal one coat. How there One Coat paint passed quality control i don't know, you only have to touch it or scratch it and it comes off. I applied two coats and still not satisfied and how there able to justify the price i don't know. I was let down but never again. It doesn't do what it says on the tin.

So its the end of the day, Tuesday and the (un) helpful customer service team have not "reached" out to me to solve the issue of my missing refund.
Its all emlty words and platitudes, NO ACTION
They really need a kick up tbe preverbial and some training wouldn't go amiss either.
Where is my refund??

If I could rate this company with -5 stars I would. I bought a tin of wood dye from this company and it clearly displayed with a photograph on the tin the result of using the product on softwood. I prepared the wood as instructed on the tin but the result did not match at all what was promised on the tin with regard to colour. The tin has “Does exactly what it says on the tin” written on the tin four times but clearly this did not happen on this occasion. After many email exchanges I finally was offered £30 to cover the cost of the wood dye and softwood which is now ruined.
If I had the time and energy I would take them to court for selling a product with false claims of the promised result using the result.

Deeply Disappointed – Poor Coverage Despite Multiple Tins
After using almost 10 tins of paint (including 3 x 9L and 4 x 5L of "Slate"), I’m extremely disappointed. No matter how many coats I applied, the coverage remained patchy and inadequate. I've followed all instructions, mixed the paint and used more paint than should be necessary, but the results are still not good. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Tell people if they ever want to change the colour and if it's from a dark to a lighter colour you will need so many coats! I'm on 5 now and it still needs more! I say don't use the product.

I have used Ronseal products for more years than I care to remember but my present project has been harder work than normal. On this project I have bought numerous 750ml tins of water based varnish which all had traces of rust when opened. If the can isn't used completely on opening any future use of the varnish is plagued with rust flakes.
I have saved some of my outlay by simply using jars with plastic screw lids. This isn't exactly environmentally friendly.
I will now be searching for a new supplier who live up to their claims.

Yet another bad review for a Ronseal product! Don't they ever take any notice of the reviews? Just the same old anodyne response every time. I bought a tin of Direct to Metal paint (offering 15 year protection!!!!) with which to paint my garage door. The door was prepared according to the instructions on the tin and applied in September last year. Despite the 15 year protection guarantee, the paint peeled off in several places over winter. When I contacted customer services, I was initially told that this had happened because the paint had been subjected to temperature and moisture variations. This is an EXTERIOR paint. We generally call these variations 'Weather' ! Several emails later when they told me at various times that I should have applied 2 coats of undercoat ( the paint claims NOT to need an undercoat), that I had not prepared the surface properly (I have been painting for over 59 years , so DO know what I am doing), that the WALL should have been prepared better and again that temperature and moisture were the cause, I threw in the towel and gave up. They very generously offered me a free tin of paint but then sent a voucher for a different one! They also expect me to travel over 10 miles each way to my nearest B&Q store in order to cash it. It certainly DOES NOT do exactly what it says on the tin. I will NEVER buy a Ronseal or Valspar product again.

Truly dreadful product. The worst paint i have ever used. Sadly, yet another grossly unhappy customer whom will never consider Ronseal again. Terrible opacity, brown turned out burgundy, blotchy, and will need 4-5 coats making it even more expansive than it is. Only given it a 1 because i cant give zero. Reached out to Ronseal with the issues, having wasted time sending much information, only for them to wash their hands of it.
