I used Ronseal Fence Life Plus on both new and old fence panels. My first challenge was opening the tub! While I admit my hands aren't great, but it was terribly difficult to get the lid off. I fo... See more

Used the ronseal pump sprayer with their fence paint....wasted half a day trying to get it to work...I tried thinning the fence paint...cleaning the nozzle repeatedly...flushed the sprayer before and after use with water...nothing worked...dont waste your time and money

Wish I had read some reviews before wasting my time and money. I trusted Ronseal to "do exactly what it says on the tin". I bought a 750 ml tin of gloss, Stays White 2 in 1 Primer & Paint for £13.99 - almost three times the cost of a 'standard' non-drip gloss. The 'tin' promises the gloss will prime and paint, providing a great finish in just 2 coats. After 2 coats on bare wood, prepped as instructed, the finish is completely translucent, primed perhaps but definitely not painted. Just to make sure it wasn't because of a problem with the wood, I tried a couple of coats on the inside of a door frame which was previously painted white, but had yellowed a little - it's still yellow - no visible difference at all.

Ronseal shed paint
Purchased from my local B&Q, it's like water, painted one side of my shed twice and still hasn't covered it, it just soaks straight in and it's not new wood, the tin is going back tomorrow,I thought Ronseal was supposed to be a good brand ... Rubbish

Can anyone tell me why after 5 coats of Ron seal fence life plus in warm stone my fence is grey! We had to buy another large tin to cover 3,5 fence panels. I kept going as I thought it would dry lighter eventually. Woke this morning to a still very grey fence! Very frustrating!

Payed nearly £100 for two 5ltr tins of ultimate decking stain thought buy the best absolute rubbish had two coats and looks awful like water.I might aswell have bought cheap fence stain for £10 for
12ltrs would saved money and time can5see it lasting long.
We have now run out of stain three coats still looks a mess don't know whether to cut our losses and buy another brand or buy more of this in the hope it will be exceptable.
Further update ronseal have requested batch number, photos, how the decking was prepared, how it was mixed.how it was applied,no doubt looking too say I had done something wrong.I explained we are not down the caravan are we're hoping when we are to sort it out.I was advised to use a stain or paint which is what I have already done their stain also to strip what we had already done nightmare I advised them to look on
trustpilot reviews the problem is their product every one negative never buy ronseal products again.

Bought the Ronseal fence paint on the basis of having had a good experience previously. Oh how I have regretted my decision of buying this utter rubbish. As many reviewers have said, the paint is jelly like and very watery. It covers absolutely nothing due to being so thin and watery.
After 8!!! applications it finally looks vaguely acceptable on my gate and bin store. This has taken me 3 days to allow for the paint to dry.
I’m under no illusion, that I’ll have to repaint everything again in a few months.
I won’t EVER buy Ronseal again.

Today, Sunday 13th April, I purchased two tins of Ronseal Ultimate Protection Decking Paint in the shade ‘Slate’. After thoroughly preparing my decking, I used the first tin, which applied as a light grey with a blue tint. However, upon opening and applying the second tin, it became immediately apparent that the shade was significantly different—much darker grey, albeit still with a blue tint.
While I understand there can sometimes be slight variation between batches, the difference in these tins is substantial and unacceptable. I have photos to clearly demonstrate the contrast, and I’m confident anyone will agree that this is not within acceptable manufacturing tolerance.
I have spent the majority of my day preparing and painting my decking, only to be left with a patchwork finish in two completely different colours.

I've never seen paint like it...watery jelly, reminds me of school deserts, absolutely useless in application...I doubt I can return it either as it seems by all the reviews this is how the product should be, definitely doesn't do what it says on the tin... absolutely a waste of my hard earned money!

Awful product. Like others said, their One Coat has jelly-like consistency and nothing close to one coat only. We also got a refill pouch and it's absolutely useless, it's so watery it disappears as soon as you apply it.

Same as a lot of others on reviewing this product..... It says it needs just ONE COAT...... It's called Ronseal One Coat Fence Paint. Nope...... it needs at least 3 coats. I couldn't believe it and even caked it on, so thickly in areas to see if it made a difference. Nope. No difference. It's certainly not worthy of its name or claim to be One Coat.

Used their new ‘One Coat Everywhere’ product. Again water-based rubbish. Sold as durable, grease proof, can wash it down etc. Wiped once with a damp cloth, ever so lightly, and you can see the marks where the micro fibre cloth has marked the sheen in the paint.
It’s basically just cheap emulsion with clever branding. Does not perform how the labels would lead you to believe.

Terrible Terrible product.
Ronseal fence life + 5 year ( safe)
This stuff is terrible. Just horrible runny jelly like substance, no matter how much you mix it. It just doesn’t stick to the brush or the wood. Coat after coat and the stuff just disappeared from the wood. It seems to be 90 % water with a hint of colour. Its just complete garbage. Will go with a different brand and restart as it’s just horrible and un usable.
I took one tub back to the shop as I originally though it was off but it appears this is just how it it.

We purchased graphite interior varnish for our wooden living room floor after reading some reviews saying it was the best and you could walk across it in high heels and it wouldn't chip. My husband spent hours and a lot of money preparing the floor ready to varnish and he followed ALL directions on the tin whilst applying it. It came out really thick like paint and you couldn't see the wood grain through it. We thought that once it had time to soak in it would look different the next day. However it didn't, it was applied less than a month and it was already looking scuffed and chipped. It has now been 3 months since it was done and it looks like it's been down years.

How are Ronseal allowed to sell this?
And what exactly is it? It like painting using runny jelly, when comes into contact with a porous surface it evaporates instantaneously. Like a really bad magic trick.

Anyone wishing to sign up to a Class Action claim against Ronseal products? Like the thousands and thousands of people told that they have not applied the product properly, its an insult having paid so much money to them for such inferior products! 5 year product promise?? They have stopped replying to me now, so it isn't ending here. Unlike Ronseal products, I promise to ensure a satisfactory result! I even have the backing of Trading Standards whom have advised the course of action I need to take.

Never again am I spending £28 x 2 tins of ronseal slate coloured fence paint. I have 15 fence panels to paint and 1 panel is taking 4 coats and it still needs another 1 or 2.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON TINS OF WATER.. IT WILL TAKE YOU FOREVER!!!!!

I bought a tin of Ronseal"10 year, performance guarantee weatherproof wood paint" recently and I am very disappointed. I am not a professional but have done enough painting to be able to gauge a good enough paint and this one is awful. 10 year guarantee! I could be coating with this paint on the same door for 10 years and still do not have confidence it will do the job. I don't know if it's a ploy so people buy more of their paint to do the job but it certainly works the other way with me as I "WILL NOT" be purchasing anything Ronseal again at this rate. I was saying to my wife about the fence paint is probably still good but after reading the reviews about that on here I will be giving that a wide berth also.

ronseal ultimate decking stain. Complained about this product last year because it was so awful. after much to and fro (how did i prepare decking how did i paint decking replied i have been painting my decking for 20 plus years) they sent me vouchers for the same product!! so maybe it was a bad batch so try again. if possible its even worse this year big lumps of clay like substance suspended in a watery solution. my paint stirrer was useless and i don't have the machine that b and q use to mix paint. so i chucked it out and used my £6 johnson and spear decking stain which went on like a dream

I wish i had read the reviews before i bought this RUBBISH, absolute piss take saying this is 1 coat. Consistency of water and this will take a minimum of 3 coats or more to do the job. I will not buy any other Ronseal products in future after this.
