Description:
YBS SuperQuilt is one of the UK’s leading multifoil insulations. This flexible, easy to install, multilayer insulation offers tremendous thermal benefits. The benefit of multifoil insulation is that it is suitable for a range of applications from roof insulation, floor insulation and wall insulation and due to the slim depth, you can save valuable space on your installation. The unique composition of the product effectively deals with all forms of energy transfer.
SuperQuilt is a 40mm thick lightweight, flexible and versatile insulation product. Designed to reduce cold bridging and reduce heat build-up in summer months as it reflects infra-red radiation and deals with the 3 forms of energy transfer. As well as offering a high thermal resistance at the core of 1.52 m2K/W, conduction, radiation and convection are all dealt with by YBS SuperQuilt.
Tested to EN16012, the high core thermal resistance of YBS SuperQuilt is achieved thanks to the multiple layers and special composition of the product. Ideal for Loft Conversions, Refurbishments & New Builds. Can be retrofitted to improve existing environments.

Installation can be tricky. Pieces have to be overlapped and these overlaps are bulky. Screwing through it can be a nightmare if using high performance knarled thread screws - use simple single thread screws which don't catch in the fabric. Don't assume you get 1.50 (or 1.20)m width, it doesn't quite stretch that far. Cut edges need to be taped with foil tape. If you can roll the insulation out flat cutting and taping is straightforward. If you don't have the space then the internal sheets move making it very difficult. Installation much easier with more than one person. Remember you need an air gap on both sides.
