No customer service at all and an aloof attitude towards their customers

I previously wrote a positive review to help the Rotor folks out given their current situation. But i’ve come back to reverse it. I was among the very first to purchase their 2025 Uno electronic gravel groupset. Not only is the groupset horrible but the company clearly is dysfunctional.

I received a defective derailleur and I was almost immediately abandoned by their customer service. At first they pretended it was my fault and the. Asked for a video of the derailleur not working. Then they disappeared again. I was required to put a lot of pressure on the company’s senior executives to get a replacement which was not defective. It’s very finicky and I regret the purchase but i’ve made it work.

They pushed this product to market prematurely which is clear to me. Their app is a pain, there’s no pairing button on the rear derailleur and it pairs erratically and there’s a strangely shaped brake reservoir in the levers that made it very challenging to get the air out.

But it’s the arrogance and contempt for their customers that just drove me nuts. Their on corporate death’s door and they just ignore. I think that one of the reasons for their financial collapse, apart from the industry trends in general, is that they are technology focussed, not customer focussed, and they protect their own preciousness at all costs. The products that Rotor itself makes, like carbon cranks and cassettes are pretty excellent and even if the company goes chest up somebody will absolutely buy their IP and keep things going. I’d buy any of their home grown stuff because you’re unlikely to have to have a problem. Stay away from their ridiculously quirky Chinese-made Uno crap. Anybody want to see the email exchanges???? Two stars because their home-grown products are excellent but customer service is worth a lot if you’re going to drop CAN$1500 on a product that can be purchased under the Wheeltop brand for $hundreds less.

Pretty good experience

Pretty good experience, fast delivery and response. The team was quite friendly when I need it to clarify couple of questions about the right selection of components for my bike setup.

Power meter crank set with no charging cable. Refused to send me one.

They shipped my power meter crankset without the charging cable. Did the same exact thing to a friend who ordered at the same time as me. They sent him one no questions asked. They however accused me of lying stating their quality control was very rigorous... Then, told me to buy one from their online store. Horrible customer experience and even worse support. Also, the non drive crank pinch bolt was over torqued making them unbelievably difficult to get onto the spindle. Not so rigorous quality control.

The worst company I've had to deal with in a long time. Products that don't fit the bikes (incorrect and faulty descriptions) and a customer service that delights in deflecting and taking the mickey out of customers when they make a complaint ... how are they still in business?

Product not avaialble after 1 week

Ordered a product, got a confirmation email then nothing for over a week. After enquiring about my order twice via email, I received an answer that the item was not available with no restock date, and I was refunded. The item still shows as available, so they are fine with taking your money and holding it until you complain, they cannot manage their stock, or they simply lied to me.

Faulty Product, Missing Parts, and Slow Support. Avoid Rotor

I ordered a direct mount crankset from Rotor and received a defective product with missing spacers and badly machined aluminum threads. The crankset was unusable out of the box.

I contacted their support multiple times, and every ticket was closed without any response. No explanation, no resolution, just silence.

After some research, I found I’m far from the only one. Others have reported similar issues in Reddit, where it's clear the product has a history of problems. Rotor continues to sell it regardless.

I expected Rotor to cover all return costs, but instead they’re asking me to pay for shipping from Canada to Spain and customs fees for a product that arrived faulty.

Between the defective product and complete lack of customer support, this has been one of the worst buying experiences I’ve had in cycling. Avoid Rotor.

Update Aug, 25: Since posting this review, I’ve had more unanswered tickets, and Rotor even challenged my Trustpilot review instead of addressing the problem. While I was on a remote bike tour with no network coverage, they forced me to verify details just to keep my review up. Now, after four months, they’re asking me to send photos and videos before even considering a reimbursement. I’m not going to disassemble my current crankset for this. At this point, I can’t trust Rotor with anything.

Update Sep 4: Rotor eventually issued me a full refund after I explained that I had already purchased a Shimano crankset and would not be disassembling it. I’ve bumped my review up to 2 stars to reflect that they did at least provide a refund in the end.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. There is no return adress on the website. I contacted them within 28 days, then i heard nothing for 6 days. Afterwards they told me it was too late to return this item, they said the return policy is 30 days. This is so not customer friendly.

Poor quality, no customer support

I recently purchased a crankset from the official website and unfortunately I'm very disappointed with the quality. One of the chainring bolts broke during installation with prescribed torque. Moreover either the chainring or the spider have a defect, they are not even and the shifting doesn't work properly for this reason. I have submitted tickets to the customer support informing about these issues but unfortunately haven't received any reaction in over a week. Too bad, I was a fan of their products but will have to look for alternatives now

Avoid them

It was a big mistake that I didn't check the reviews of Rotorbike before ordering. I ordered the wrong bike wheels, but I can't get in touch with the company. They don't answer my emails or when I call. I have contacted them countless times, but nothing happens. Avoid them.

Avoid Rotor at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs as it will save you money in the long run .
I ordered a 24mm axle and a 30mm 155mm cranks and after my bike mechanic pointed out to me that these are not compatible I'm disappointed and annoyed that the sales team didn't see this and contact me and point this out to me as it was a human error, (a friendly suggestion would be that when making multiple choices that Rotor should have an alert system where it would flag if your choice was compatible or not , for example if you order 24 mm axle that only 24 mm cranks fits and not 30 mm cranks), and now after contacting customer service I'm even more frustrated and annoyed that they basically don't want to help me with swapping out the cranks for the correct size, they basically shut the door in my face without trying to help me.
Carlos Andres was the customer service ( Bot?) person I was dealing with and after my disappointing experience with him can't recommend this company to anyone else, I must also point out that I have two other power meters from this company one had a catastrophic failure which damaged my bike and another crankset I was not given what I ordered first time.
It is with great sadness that I cannot recommend this company to anyone as I'm now at the loss of €450 and cranks that I can't use but going forward lessons learned hopefully my review will help others in deciding whether or not to use Rotor .
I have always used Shimano on my bikes and never once have I had any issues with them so think it's best I stay with what I trust.

Disappointing Customer Service – No Response to Warranty Claim

I have always been satisfied with Rotor products and own multiple power meters from this brand. However, my experience with their customer service has been extremely disappointing.

In November 2024, I submitted a warranty claim for my Rotor Rex 2.2 inPower crankset, which I had purchased directly from the Rotor webshop. The drive-side crank cracked while the bike was simply hanging in my shed, likely due to aluminum oxidation. This is a strange issue that Rotor should want to investigate themselves.

The only response I received was a request to send my proof of purchase. I did so immediately, but after that, I heard nothing. No substantive response, no solution, and my ticket was even closed without any communication.

It’s unacceptable that a premium brand completely ignores warranty claims, even for products purchased directly from their own webshop. My MTB has been sitting unused in the shop for months, and I have received zero support. If you value customer service and warranty, think twice before buying a Rotor product.

Shipped fast from Spain to the US via…

Shipped fast from Spain to the US via UPS. Bb30 crankset works on my older frame although their spindle is made to fit wider bb86 shells and my frame has a 73mm shell so I ended up having to use more spacers than I expected but it works fine

Ordered a crankset a month ago and still ”processing”. Wonder if I’ll ever get my parts. Strongly recommend to avoid this company.

Do NOT buy Rotor ALDHU 30mm crankset for track bike

Order received OK desite lack of communication from Rotorbike.com. I was expecting an order confirmation mail shortly after order submit and change to order status and shipping, but this information is only available and updated for your order (account login required) on their website. The communication can be improved for sure.

Update 9/1-2025: I had to return the Rotor ALDHU 30mm crankset for my track bike due to misalignment of the spindel cause severe issue for the chain - impossible to keep a proper and consistent tension for the chain. Also, the bolts for the front chainring on the spindel cracked due to poor design and poor quality. I have paid 365euros in total for the order, and I have returned the crankset, but not received any refund!

Because of this poor aftermath I have to lower the rating of Rotorbike.com.

Update 21/2-2025: I have received a new crankset, but not sure I want to bother with this again - I have little faith it will work. Also, the chainring bolts are very thin and crack with little to no tension (not reliable). I regret that I spend so much money on this crankset, and I consider the money lost.

Do NOT order

Orders/inquiries via all possible communication channels will not be processed or answered.

My order still has the status : in progress for almost two weeks, without me ever receiving any kind of purchase confirmation e-mail or anything else.

I would therefore STRONGLY recommend you NOT to order via this website!

Don't use Rotor 3D+ Power in wintertime

The Rotor 3D+ Power is not suited for nordic weather where salt is used during winter.
I was happy for my powermeter, but after 2 winter seasons the powermeter started to fall apart because of the salt - I did a wash of bike each day, but still.
the original roter 3D right arm didn't fall apart even if it must have been exposed with the same weather.
Warranty wouldn't help - answer is that "the powermeter may have been treated with a corrosive product or stored in extreme conditions" !!
DON'T buy this when used during winter !!

How do you get support??

Updated: a week has passed - still no response!!
Initial: Appears to have great products (although I have to return one item), but a non-existent support set-up. I have tried to contact them a number of times - still no response... not a happy customer
