Routeperfect is an amazing tool that I have used in planing my grand road trip around Europe continent. It is intlegently tailor your trip to your satisfaction. I’m greatful to you guys in making my trip a breeze. I couldn’t stop writing but I believe that I said enough

Extremely disappointed!

Writing a new review just to summarize the points made earlier.

1. Paid for the full package (Athens-Santorini-Mykonos) however one of the hotels was not confirmed despite their website showing as 'confirmed' and my credit card being charged the full amount. Was not allowed to re-do the package.

2. It takes up to 5 days for your reservation to be confirmed so there is no guarantee (incase one of them becomes unavailable in the meantime).

3. I was given a full refund for the unconfirmed hotel but while waiting for this (as in for them to inform me 4 days later that my hotel could not be confirmed due to unavailability), all the other hotels had a price surge. So at the end i ended up paying way more to book a different hotel.

4. The lady Houda (customer service) was extremely rude and kept on talking over me, wouldn't even let me finish my sentence. She (after calming down) did offer to extend her work hours to help out but when asked about a certain hotel, the price she told me was $200 more than what was shown on their website (after taxes and fees).

5. When comparing the price to Orbitz for the same hotels, it (Orbitz) was $700 cheaper (after taxes and fees).

6. I was charged a $100 foreign transaction fee (was not aware of that, but that maybe my bank's fault... not sure).

7. My advice to everyone would be to keep these points in mind and to read their terms and conditions before considering them. Also do your own research on prices first.

8. With that said, i would like to point out that Alex was very polite and helpful. It's because of the above mentioned points that i was left quite disappointed.

9. This review is prior to leaving for the trip, hoping it would be smooth sailing from here. Will update once my husband and i are back from the trip.

Thanks for your feedback! However, we truly regret having to point out that your review is not a true reflection of the actual events.

As can happen in the industry from time to time, it turns out that during the booking process the last available room at this hotel was sold elsewhere via another agency or the hotel itself within seconds before making the payment. Unfortunately when this happens it is totally out of our control, and as such the hotel wasn’t booked automatically by our system. Regarding the comment about the payment for your package, I can confirm that as our booking providers require payment up front, the payment is taken in advance. As discussed on the phone, if for some reason we’re unable to confirm a hotel, a full refund will always be available for this specific accommodation.

Our team spent numerous hours trying to find a suitable alternative for you within your budget as we truly wanted to get this resolved as fast as we could, but despite our best efforts we struggled to find a similarly priced, highly rated accommodation in the location you wanted. The chosen dates are during the peak of high season in Fira Town, Santorini, so decent hotels for the price paid are hard to come by this close to the travel dates. As such, we provided you with three options;-

1) The option to book a more expensive hotel of your choice in Fira Town, Santorini.
2) The option for us to continue our search to find you similarly priced alternatives throughout the island, as opposed to just in Fira Town.
3) The option to provide you with a full refund for the amount paid towards your Santorini reservation, enabling you to book a suitable alternative via another channel.

In response, you got back in touch with option number 1, providing us with your own suggestion of 'Lilium Villas'. We advised that this reservation would cost an extra $754 compared to your original choice; this is the cheapest we could find via our booking providers, who for the vast majority of the time offer wholesale rates cheaper than those displayed on the actual hotels' sites. You kindly let us know that this is not within your budget, and advised that you would like the full refund for this hotel reservation (which we have already processed), rather than allowing us to search for hotels in different parts of the island. We’re totally baffled by your statement that your trip has ended up costing you an extra $2,000, when the aforementioned alternative hotel was too expensive and you advised that you’ll be booking cheaper elsewhere - we’re not sure how that can be!

We truly believe that our customer service was helpful and courteous when you got in touch by phone, however we do note that you were unhappy and understandably anxious to get this resolved, so they were rather difficult calls from our end. You spoke with our Support Manager, who tried to get the chance to explain exactly where we were at, and advised that we were doing all we can to help given the circumstances; she even offered to extend her working day to continue looking at alternatives for you, which you seemed grateful for at the time. As such, we’re disappointed that our Support Team have been portrayed in a negative light after all the prompt e-mails and hours of hard work that went in to helping you.

Despite all of the above, we truly wish you a wonderful trip to Greece, and you’re welcome to get back in touch with any further questions to support@routeperfect.com.

Great trip.

Our trip went really well with no hiccups. Hotels were all nice and easy to get to. My only frustration was with the routeperfect website. It wasn't user friendly when I tried to amend itineraries but older reviews I read before booking shows this seems to be a common concern, I didn't quite realise how frustrating though.

Convenience but you pay for it.

The hotels were all very good and in convenient and vibrant areas of the cities I visited, and for the most part what I expected. They all provided a continental or full breakfast which was excellent. All of the hotels accepted my vouchers immediately with absolutely no questions or hassle. It was an easy and convenient way to book several hotels for one trip without spending hours and hours on the internet getting more and more confused and possibly disappointed and even ripped off. The major drawback is that this service is not cheap. You definitely pay, I would say, at least 20 percent more than if you would have booked them directly or through another internet site.

The vast majority of the time our rates are very competitive compared to the rest of the market, as our customers gain access to special 'opaque' rates that are only available if the price for each item of the package is concealed. The hotel sets a minimum rate that an online travel agency is allowed to sell the room for, and no online travel agency is allowed to undercut this price as long as the price is visible to the customer. As such, we work with hundreds of suppliers to ensure our customers get the best deal possible, but as rates with various suppliers fluctuate regularly it's certainly possible that from time to time the rates may not always be the cheapest in some locations. As we're constantly working hard to improve our prices and services, we'll be grateful if you could send us some examples of where you were able to find cheaper rates to support@routeperfect.com - many thanks!

Routeperfect was a great source to book you trip by transportation to hotels and thing to do. All the hotels were perfect with great breakfasts and amenities.

Route perfect really is perfect! 😍

My review is a little late. I used route perfect for my honeymoon, 12 days in Italy, I was a little nervous as hadn't heard much about route perfect, but wow! Brilliant! We booked our flights separately, spent 3 nights in Rome, 2 nights in Pisa, 3 nights just out die of Venice then another 3 nights back in Rome, plus car hire. Route perfect really is perfect! The customer service was great too! We found out a few weeks before our flight times had changed so I had to contact as I was wondered about picking up our car hire in time before they shut, route perfect contacted the company and managed everything, they even helped us change the car hire as we (I) realised we'd booked one a tax drive away from the airport when we could have one at the airport. The change in company only cost an extra £18 euros
I love that you get to see the trip advisor ratings as well as star ratings and can swap and change easily before final booking, I actually found it fun playing around with!
Will definitely use again. Thank you route perfect for helping to make our honeymoon perfect and smooth, we got to visit many bucket list beautiful places

Now waiting to load for the last 8 minutes not counting the last 20.

I'm using a PC with Windows 7.0 yes I know 7!!!! all other internet access is quick and easy all I continually see is the blue bar continually restarting.

Are there any conflicts with 7?

I used this site last year to plan a…

I used this site last year to plan a trip from Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Spain, absolutely fantastic, all accommodation was excellent. Went to use the site this year to prepare for next trip, (having had such a great experience the first time) WHAT a Living NIGHTMARE! I wish you had just left the site alone, it is no comparison to it's former self. I keep persevering, hoping it will get better, but after 3 months it is still no better. When is it likely to get back to what it was?

Used the website last year to plan my…

Used the website last year to plan my trip, however seem to be having trouble this time around. Don't get me wrong, website is great, but I can't seem to find the transportation page and am only able to chose the car.. This is making all of the estimated times between cities to be off, hence not giving an accurate estimate of the whole trip. Please advise on how this can be fixed as I really want to use this to plan my next trip in September.

FEELING FRUSTRATED!

FEELING FRUSTRATED!

I am trying to plan a route around Italy but this website seems to have a lot of technical issues, I am getting no where using it!

I am using 'manual mode' and it keeps not letting me delete destinations, freaks out when I try to re-order the destinations, and wont let me share the trip either. Every time I click 'share' it appears to just save the trip. I've now ended up with 31 saved trips because I keep going back and trying again - I must be a sucker for punishment. I've tried using a Mac and a PC to no avail :(

I just wish the website worked properly as it is such a good concept in theory. I've lodged a request to their help desk - here's hoping they may be able to help!.

The perfect honeymoon trip …

We planned our perfect honeymoon trip from Florence to Amalfi and everything was just a bit better than expected! We booked what were the recommended places, changed and rearranged everything and had no problems whatsoever.
We are now planning our two years anniversary trip and are excited to follow through!

Frustrating and cumbersome...RoutePerfect is ImPerfect

This program has done nothing but torment me and I must like torture because I keep going back and trying again. I find it slow to respond, and I've done everything to enable it to work at its best - performed all updates to my Mac, closed all other programs and restarted the computer. - to no avail. I have no problems with other internet activity with upload speeds of 75-100mps. I have contacted the help desk and received no response from them. My spouse has the same difficulty with it on his PC. The notion of this program sounds so great - I just wish I knew how the other reviewers manage to have such glowing success.

UK road trip in October 2017

My entire UK road trip was planned using route perfect. It was a hassle free experience where accomodation and most places of interests are recommended. However not all of them were listed out. Some of my recommended improvement:
1. Indicate parking charges for traveler who are driving
2. Give roughly 7-8 suggestions for places of interest and its closing time.

Unfortunately, we do not have authority over use of specific facilities at hotels, so information such as parking charges is not shared with us in the first place. We do however list available parking lots so that our travelers know where they can be used, and can coordinate directly with the hotel for relevant availability and rates.

I used RoutePerfect to book hotels for my Italian honeymoon.

I used RoutePerfect to book hotels for my Italy honeymoon. I can't say enough good things about them - the website was easy to use, their support is amazing and responsive (I'm in the US, they are based in Israel), and they were able to help with one off requests. I realized I booked the wrong dates for a certain stop and Emanuell from RoutePerfect was able to reach out to the hotel to let them know we were arrive later (literally the next day). When we got to the hotel, the hotel knew about it and was still able to let us use the room for a few hours to refresh.

Route Perfect is REALLY perfect - they gave us our hotel vouchers via email in advance and all we had to do was check in and everything was set! I would use them again!

Need a better customer service dept

As I stated in my title there needs to be realtime availability of customer service. I sent emails when I was preparing my trip and they went unanswered for several days. No phone contact either.
Also after filing a complaint about a supposed 3 star hotel and sending pictures RoutePerfect sided with the hotel- not a good experience

We would like to apologize for any discomfort you experienced in one of your hotels, as we understand you felt that you must leave it. We do take mold claims seriously as it might be a very serious health hazard.
Although you did follow exact protocol with sending pictures, we have seen many cases of mold over time and these pictures truly did not illuminate a mold problem for us to hold the hotel accountable for. Since the hotel refused to compensate you,we also checked the user reviews of the hotel for all of the entire 4 months leading up to your reservation dates, and could not find any other complaints of mold, making this claim extra difficult to prove.
We did see remarks of the rooms being outdated, but this is to be expected from a 3-star hotel which is what you chose.
Additionally, this room was selected with a nonrefundable policy at the time of booking, which forfeits our negotiation power should anything come up or go wrong; it's important to understand that even
emergencies with substantial evidence to support the claim cannot be guaranteed a refund under this policy, which is determined by the booking provider, not by us.
We do sincerely regret that this was an unpleasant experience for you
and that we weren't able to assist more, and hope that in the future you will not experience any unpleasant surprises in your travels.

We had an amazing trip in Spain all …

We had an amazing trip in Spain all planned and booked by Route Perfect. It made everything so easy and stress free. We loved all the hotels and the locations they picked were perfect. The suggestions they made for sight seeing were the best and so helpful. It was a trip to remember and we really appreciate Route Perfect team. We will definitely use this again in the future.
