Last minute grace

Last minute didn't know our resort wasn't pet friendly.
Downloaded the rover app and found me a sitter for four days in minutes.
She kept updated on Benny and pictures with him. Took him on walks and all. Highly recommend.

I’m replying to rover’s automated…

I’m replying to rover’s automated response to me as again, it takes over an hour to reach someone who can speak English. I relayed my experience with an unhinged sitter who completely lied 100% about where she lives. Sitter had on her profile that she lived in a house with fenced yard. Sitter actually lived in a studio apt where she left my dog alone. She then complained that my dog was pacing back and forth. She was completely unhinged and a complete liar. My question for rover, while rover says it does background checks, simply did not know this girl lived in a studio apt and not a house with a fenced yard. Does roves check addresses? Anything, mental health conditions? Rover does absolutely NOTHING to check sitters. I have a vet bill that your “checked” sitter did to my dog, absolutely not a big deal but was a cut a wanted checked out since sitter was so dirty. Rover owes me $109 which they refuse to pay. That does not include vet visit. I haven’t checked but I imagine this bizarre girl is still on rover. Go elsewhere please. There are people who actually care about animals. This is a convenient website featuring people rover knows nothing about. PLEASE DO NOT USE ROVER.

We had a terrible experience with Rover…

We had a terrible experience with Rover and a sitter. The sitter called said they would be late, we said that would be fine. two days later the sitter contacted us saying we didn't pay him we replied that Rover took the funds. The sitter than threatened us saying he was coming with the police to collect his money etc. etc. We contacted Rover who said the the sitter had refused the funds not our fault. We had Rover put on another visit so the sitter could get paid he told a bunch of lies saying we had cameras in the house (we did not but now I am wondering how my dogs were treated) Put in a formal complaint and was told that we needed to read the Rover Community Guidelines and made us feel that this was our fault. Rover of course denied any and all liability with the claim and blamed us. Just remember these people are strangers not even employees of Rover and Rover just collects money for the service, if anything goes wrong they will not care and blame you. Furthermore though they say they do background checks I doubt it's very thorough as I found all kinds of court records for this individual after the fact.

Getting our feet wet

I’m old, and the app was doable… not totally easy, but doable. What was super was that our house sitter was really helpful with teaching us how to make it work.

Rover made it so easy to locate a pet-sitter near me. And the one I selected , the couple took excellent care of my beloved dog. I cannot praise Rover and my pet-sitters (Carl & Nancy [32828]) enough.

Useless for cat sitters since merge with Cat in a flat…

I used to cat sit through Cat in a flat but cat sitters have been completely screwed over by the merge with Rover. No notice board and it shows sitters miles away, because the algorithm favours only the most established Rover sitters instead of locals. Cat in a flat has been has been ruined and Rover does nothing for us.

Good choice of quality pet sitters

Good choice of quality pet sitters. Reasonably priced. Easy to make the arrangements. Website could be a little more intuitive after making the initial arrangements but the Rovers/pet sitters we have chosen have helped navigate it.

Rover does not a customer service…

Rover does not a customer service number where you can log your complaints. I could not give my Dog sitter a tip or review because the system would not allow it. It says you can give a review within 21 days of service and I was within 21 days but system gave an error that something went wrong over and over and over again. So I give Rover one Star.

Claudius and Stephanie were so kind to…

Claudius and Stephanie were so kind to Pistachio. They had him for a week and took him to a park, walked him and snuggled him! They made sure he was happy and relaxed. She sent photos daily and we were stress free. They have a beautiful home!

App was terrific and easy to use!

The app was easy to navigate and use, and it recommended a great family for us to leave our beloved dog with. They were very communicative and kind. We will for sure use them again next time we need a pet sitter.

Rover Fee

I think you should charge a flat fee rather than a percentage. Perhaps even have a reward after so many uses. I found your fee expensive and I have used Rover for 3 years.

Amanda was so amazing with our dog…

Amanda was so amazing with our dog Pitch. She took time to love on him, play with him and meet him where he was at anytime she was there. I’ll definitely be using Rover again but more importantly Amanda again!

The Rover app was recommended to me

The Rover app was recommended to me, and I found it to be extremely user-friendly. It made the process of finding someone to care for my dog straightforward and hassle-free.
Using the app was very easy, and I quickly connected with an amazing person to watch my dog. She is a genuinely caring individual, and my dog was very happy staying at her home.
