Ruby's Flowers refused to make good on offer
Out of the dozen or so companies I've patronized, who offer THCA Flower online, I had a uniquely bad customer service experience with Ruby's Flowers Hemp Farm at rubysflowerswi.com
I tried to take advantage of one deal they offered and what followed was disappointment, frustration and I received poor treatment like the whole thing was my fault.
The offer was for a free 8th of flower with every order over $100. So I proceeded to try an order that met that criteria. However, when I tried to check out, I could find no way to add the 8th of my choice without being charged more money. I was completely new to their shopping cart system and website. I decided that if I just finished my order, a free 8th or the opportunity to choose one would be provided. That never happened. I could not find a free 8th on my receipt. So I immediately sent them a message about my not being able to find one on the receipt and I specified the particular strain of my choice in the message. Since I ordered on the weekend, I had every confidence that the matter would be handled by customer service on Monday and my free 8th would be added to my order in time before it shipped.
To my surprise, what I got instead was an accusatory message like I lied about something and a copy of my order receipt was attached to the message like it was evidence showing my guilt that I didn't include my request for a free 8th in the "order comments" like I was 'supposa' do. I followed up protesting their denial of my freebe asking why the immediate follow-up message wasn't good enough for a newbie unfamiliar with their way of doing things. They simply ignored me and immediately shipped out my order sans free 8th.
Later on, they had another promotion like this, so I was looking for this order comments field at checkout and couldn't find it because as I later learned, if you are a registered account already, your shipping and billing addresses appear automatically and the comments field is hidden and only appears if you click on the edit button of the shipping address. I had to ask them about this to find out. They also said in their response that if I send them a message when I make the order specifying what I want, that would be ok too. So I brought up my experience last time with them where I did exactly that to ask for my freebe. They then responded that I was blaming them for something that was completely my fault and if I don't quit being critical and apologize for being rude, they won't fill my future orders at all. Who wouldn't be critical about being put through this abuse of being scolded and blamed like a child and arbitrarily denied the offer my order was eligible for? But I was never rude or indecent.
Every other company I've done business with has their shopping cart automated to include these offers and the choices involved. I suspect Ruby's Flowers is reluctant to make good on their special offers and makes it hard to collect on them by design. Also the short-sited owners indulge in judgmental, self-righteous behavior at the expense of the dignity of good customers. Must be the owners of a very small operation - there's no way I've been dealing with professionally trained, tactful customer service representatives who know the value of building long-term customer good will.
That ends my relationship with Ruby's Flowers and I caution anyone about trusting them. I'm including some supplemental info details here for the benefit of fellow online herb shoppers like me. I have no interest otherwise than the fact that this incident required a response and a heads up to other potential customers.
As 'farmy' as Ruby's Flowers, in Dane County, Wisconsin makes themselves sound in their 'About' page, they aren't actively growing the hemp they sell. They specifically state on their website that their THCA flower for sale is grown in Oregon. In their disclaimer legalese, they state that any legal proceeding against them must be settled in courts located in Johnson County, Wyoming. So who knows where they're really located. They have no Google map presence in Dane County, Wisconsin, or anywhere else, making it impossible to review them on Google or Yelp. All their positive customer reviews only exist on their own website. I'm not promoting any other company, so I refrain from specifics here, but I've had very positive experiences with at least 4 other THCA flower online shops that are located in Oregon and have always been impressed by the quality of the product I've received for a fraction of the prices of the same strains on Ruby's Flowers. I've only had good customer support experiences outside this Ruby's Flowers incident.
