Cancelation nightmare

I really liked the software. After I didn't needed it anymore because the projects finished up, I wanted to cancel it. You can only do that via mail. They contacted me to know why I cancel. I told them (even though I don't have to, I want to cancel and that's it). Then suddenly next month they tried to use my credit card again. Luckily this account didn't had enough balance because it is not used often so I only transfer money on it when I need it. In the next days they tried to do 3 more charges. I had to lock my credit card information and get a new one... No answer on my mails yet why my card was still charged after canceling.

Criminal organization that keeps credit card detail hostage

You can only cancel your subscription by a ticket. Off course you can upgrade without a problem, but downgrading or cancelling? NOOOOOO

Criminal organization that keeps your credit card details hostage. You can't remove it from the platform yourself. You can add it off course when upgrading, but no removal option. Highly illegal in the EU. Reported it to European Anti-Fraud Office. They will eat them alive. I see what mega fine they will get in the news. Probably will bankrupt them. Good. One criminal organization less.

Took Support 3 Months to Reply

The product works pretty well, but there are still plenty of bugs. Anytime there was a bug, support just told me that it was probably the website that I was commenting on that made it not work.

Further, their billing is confusing and the only way to cancel is to contact their support. I attempted to contact their support for legitimately 3 months about cancelling my subscription and getting a refund on the erroneous charges. It took them 107 days to reply.

Stay far away.

Had high hopes for Ruttl

Had high hopes for Ruttl. The platform is simple and easy to use, however they recently changed their free plan to only be accessible via Desktop (therefore removing mobile previews - which ALL website designers will gather feedback from their clients for? Mobile is SO important) and they also limited comments to 10 max, for an ENITRE website (again, what web design client is going to have no more than 10 comments to leave on an entire 8-10 page website?). I reached out to Ruttl about upgrading to their Pro Plan and advised that I only needed 1 seat as I am a solopreneur, they were willing to offer me a part discount for upgrading with just 1 seat as long as I gave them good reviews on multiple websites. I was happy to do this (speaking honestly in reviews of course) and then I never heard back from them with details to upgrade. I have followed up 3 times now, had issues with the timeframe of a client's project because of it, and it's been almost 2 weeks and I've not heard from them. Since then I've switched to another platform with much better customer service who I'll be sticking with. Disappointed.

I really wanted to like this

I really wanted to like this – but unfortunately it is so buggy it's almost totally unusable. Would be great...if it actually worked. Genuinely cannot even begin to list all of the bugs I encountered.

Charges you even after account cancellation

After being warned by another designer that Ruttl continues to charge you even after you cancel your account, I found it to be true for myself. I cancelled my account weeks ago and was still charged for a 3-month renewal without authorization.

They also force you to purchase additional seats even if you don't need them, which doubled the advertised subscription cost.

The platform is buggy and the business as a whole seems very shady. Do not let them get your card info.

A scammy experience.

Straight after signing up with them I found that it doesn't work for Sqsp trial sites (Sqsp is the only platform I use and most client websites are trials at the build stage), so I explained and asked for a refund. They said they won't give it as per T&C, which I accepted and simply cancelled my subscription with them. But, to my surprise, a month later (2 days ago), they charged me again!

So I went back in to check if I did unsubscribe after all, and I did! There was a message waiting for me there that read:

Cancellation Requested

We've noted your request, but we assure you will see a change/ improvement in your experience on Ruttl. To help us help you, please schedule a call with us.

...which I found very cheeky and sort of scammy. They didn't even inform me of the fact that they haven't cancelled my future payments. Many companies would even refund customers after subscribing if you're not happy with them, but these people just charge you again.

So anyway, I informed my bank and will be getting the refund, but it's a disgrace. I'll also be informing my communities of designers to warn people.

Plagued with bugs...

Just signed up to Ruttl after using Markup.io for years. Ruttl is plagued with bugs making it completely unusable. We're using the website feedback tool, when having the comments option enabled it won't place the marker to leave a comment which is literally it's one and only job - to leave feedback and it can't seem to manage it.

Will be cancelling membership.

Best feedback collection tool for agencies

Ruttl makes our job easy to get feedback from our clients on their website instead of sending the feedback via email, which is hard to keep track of and extremely difficult to keep track of the progress on the issues reported by the client.

With Ruttl, clients can point to the design and leave a comment with the changes they need.

All these comments can be converted to tasks on your favourite project management tool to assign to your team.
