We were quoted for a wired alarm system, we were persuaded by Safeguard employee to have a wireless one at the same price (not what we wanted but had made an error about where he thought we were in our build, so we didn't want to cause waves). He reassured us the system would be the same, if not better. After 2 years of constant issues: different pieces of equipment not communicating, outside siren not working (several incidents), siren replaced, keypad replaced, whole system being unable to be switched on etc. etc., we received a large bill after a yet another call-out. Apparently, despite never being fit for purpose or working properly, we were out of warranty and need to start paying for parts and labour for a system that had never operated without issues. I disputed the invoice and said we should have at least been told in advance that we would be charged, only to be told that Safeguard were washing their hands of us: here's the engineer code, we won't support your system anymore. They have admitted that the employee that misled and missold to us was sacked, but they have left us with a faulty nightmare of an alarm system and walked away.

Safeguard security were a great company to deal with, they answered all my questions by email or telephone promptly, and I decided to go with them to fit three shutters to my bungalow, living room, kitchen and bathroom as both bedrooms already had secondary glazing fitted as well as double glazing for sound insolation, security and heat retention.
I submitted my measurements and was happy with the quote I received from Safeguard Security, who then sent out a surveyor who measured my windows again for exact accuracy and showed me various frame systems with different locking means and I confirmed my order with Gary by email and my order went off for manufacture and were duly fitted some three weeks later.
Ben, the fitter drove from Coventry and back in very heavy rain brought by Storm Bert, which must have been horrendous?
Ben was friendly and very good at the job of fitting my security shutters, which took just over three hours to fit, so I would not recommend a customer fitting them themselves as it is a complicated, time-consuming job.
The security shutters are barely visible behind my net curtains from the street even though I know where they are, and they can be folded back during the day if you prefer that and then closed and locked at night.
Having had the security shutters fitted gives me much more peace of mind.

Terrible service and rude staff.
Unhelpful staff who have no customer service skills will never use this company again and would prefer to spend money getting someone independent then deal with their rude awful staff.

Having recently moved into a bungalow, as a lone female I was nervous about my personal safety due to there being multiple points of entry into my home. After a lot of consideration I decided to look into having security grilles put on my windows, patio and back door. I came across Safeguard Security after a thorough online search and spoke with Gary who answered my many questions (on the phone and via email) with a great deal of professionalism and patience. I carefully took all measurements so that Gary could send me a quote, then once I decided to have Safeguard Security install all grilles we arranged for a surveyor to come to my home in South Wales where measurements were confirmed and I was able to ask further questions about fitting/locks etc with the surveyor as we both stood in front of windows/doors that I had concerns about. It was very useful to be able to see a sample of the grilles and locks, together with the two different types of lower tracks as it makes decisions much easier when you can physically see and touch the demonstration models rather than rely on website photos. I was very happy to be dealing directly with the grille manufacturers, and that the person who came out to do the survey (Michael) would also be installing all the grilles, so we were both able to take notes and have frank discussions with no fear of anything being lost in translation if the job was to have been handed over to someone else to install. That totally put my mind at ease because Michael was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient and I just knew instinctively that everything was going to be OK if left in his capable hands and I would not be let down with over-promising-and-under-delivering. I paid the deposit the next day and the manufacturing of the grilles took just a few weeks and were then ready for installation. The entire process was so simple and straightforward, with no hiccups along the way. Michael and Leigh came to install and it was a pleasure to watch them get on with the job with no fuss or bother, both very polite and respectful of my home, happy to have me watch and ask questions about the installation process. In no time at all they had the job finished and everything cleared away, the place was left as clean as when they arrived. Michael even took the time to fix an outdoor security light that had come loose from the wall fitting in my garden, which was very kind of him. I didn’t ask him to do it, he just offered when he saw it dangling from the wall!! They are both an asset to the company and a thorough joy to be around, as was Gary on the end of the phone, always there to answer questions, no matter how many were asked!!

I was fortunate that I could afford to have Safeguard Security install all the grilles for me but I know others may choose to save money by installing themselves. However, I would seriously suggest that if possible budget for the installation so you know they are being fitted correctly. No-one knows the grilles better than the manufacturers, so for peace of mind and the 5 year guarantee which comes with the installation, to me it was worth the extra cost. Michael and Leigh were like a well-oiled machine; they had the grilles in place and in perfect working order in no time at all because they do it day-in-day-out and know all the pitfalls and how to deal with them efficiently and effectively without compromising the mechanisms of the grilles, so for a stress-free and quick installation it’s worth considering unless you are a competent and confident DIYer.

I have had a few very bad experiences with tradesmen in recent months, from being totally fraudulent and incompetent to not bothering to turn up to do jobs they’ve been booked for or at least doing what they promised to do, so I started this process half expecting something to go wrong, to perhaps be let down yet again. Thankfully, from my very first telephone conversation with Gary to Michael and Leigh leaving my bungalow after completing the installation Safeguard Security have restored my faith that there ARE professional people out there who care about offering a quality product and fantastic customer service.

Finally, it’s been a week now since I’ve had my window/door grilles installed and I can say in all honesty that I now feel totally safe in my little bungalow, able to sleep at night without the fear that I’m going to wake up to find an intruder in my home. Even though the cost was very competitive due to buying directly from the manufacturer, it wasn’t inexpensive to fund - however it’s money very well spent as a one-off investment in my future safety and peace of mind, and I would not hesitate in recommending Safeguard Security should anyone reading this review be considering them for their own needs.

Really pleased with my new window grilles. They arrived more quickly than expected, and were easy to install. I appreciated the detailed instructions came with them and that all the required screws and rawlplugs were in separately labelled bags. Now that they are up, they feel really sturdy and safe and they look good. Gary, who I spoke to, was friendly and courteous on the phone and by email and kept me updated. Great service overall.

They don’t not respond to email or honour promises after the make many mistakes.

I am so pleased I used this company they are so very polite and helpful, and the quality of there security blinds are excellent they look nice but still do the job that's needed of them, they are so simple and easy to install I can highly recommend this company with confidence, great service great products quick delivery Excellent.
