First, a little background on me. Im a 27 year street cop who wears my vest religiously. Now, this is my first vest from Safelife, its also the only vest I'll ever use from now on! No more issued vests for me, ever. My old issued level IIIa was bulky and almost 3lbs heavier than the IIIa+. My dept issues what I feel is a sub standard level IIa vest, with a IIIa 6x8 plate. When I found that out, I researched available vests (all brands) and I ended up purchasing the level IIIa+ after seeing some amazing videos on YouTube. I was far from disappointed! It's light! As a matter of fact, it's 3 pounds lighter than my old level IIIa. It looks sharp in the uniform outer carrier, ive had numerous officers at my dept ask me where I got it. The customer service is second to none! I had an issue where my taser and holster ruined my vest carrier and it ripped a hole in the sheathing of my ballistic panel. Since it was under warranty, I was able to get a replacement carrier for free. Not only that, but they fixed the panel and put brand new sheathing on both front and back panels. You will not go wrong with this vest!
