We had a side window in our truck broken by a rock while traveling to a horse show. The good thing was that there was a Safelite dealer near by and we could get an appointment in just a couple of days... See more

I am just sorry I have to give them any stars at all. The service wasn't that bad but they couldn't finish recalibrating it - missing a part so I had to reschedule for two weeks out because I work out of town. I was told only 2 unimportant features would be out but in reality I don't have cruise control, a very big deal since I drive for work.
What I really hate is that you can't speak to a human being and you can't email the company or contact them in any way. It's INSANE! I've never dealt with a company that won't allow any contact AT ALL. NONE. So now if I want to tell this shop that the cruise is also out so maybe they need a different or additional part to repair it in two weeks, I have to drive another 30-40 minutes in heavy traffic. I WILL NEVER USE SAFE-LITE AGAIN. Do yourself a favor and use a local company.

Total Scam. They replaced my windshield. Within a few months I had a crack on my windshield spreading out. The lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything. The lifetime doesn't cover over 20 causes listing on their website. And why would I want more of the same garbage. 💩

Had safelite windshield repair come out to repair a small chip in my windshield. A simple chip with no radiating cracks or gouges. The technician completed the repair and said no driving for a couple of hours and no car wash for a week. Truck didn't move for several days. About three weeks later, washed the windshield and some plastic came off around the repair and there was a hole in the chip. Called safelite for warranty repairs (warranted for the life of the truck) and they told me that they couldn't redo the repair and my only option was to buy a new windshield! So, their technician did a faulty repair and my only recourse was for me to purchase a new windshield from them. An interesting way to upsell to a very expensive windshield caused by a defective repair done by them. Searching through the internet reveals that this unethical method of upselling is not uncommon, but I thought using a nationally recognized company like Safelite rather than a small local shop would eliminate that worry.

I was an insurance broker many years ago in the 80s an 90s and we used Safelite and really never had an issue. Today was the first time I used Safelite for my daughter's car and process was flawless. They came on time and did what was requested. They actually went to my daughter's job location on site and completed it. Thank you. We have a great pic of her windshield replaced and Safelite truck in the background how can I upload this pic?

Be mindful of Safelite's insufficient warranty on it's windshield repairs. It does not incentivize Safelite to use reasonable care when making repairs because they will only apply credit toward a full replacement if it fails. I had a small crack/chip in my windshield. I was referred to Safelite from my insurance provider through its app. It was easy to schedule a repair that would be "no cost" to me. The tech came out the same day. He advised me that the crack may get bigger due to the repair. It did-- it went from a half-inch to about 2 inches, but he advised me it was "stable." 2 days later, the crack went to 10 inches. Now it's 2 feet in total. I consulted Safelite about the failed repair and was told that sometimes "it happens" but they would credit me the initial repair cost toward a total replacement, a credit of $85. It costs almost $700 to replace this windshield. I've had a few crack repairs done and never had an issue like this. How do I know it wasn't due to negligent repair? Its possible the tech didn't do it correctly, and now I'm spending $700 instead of $85. Safelite refused any correction beyond applying an $85 credit toward the full replacement. Use caution in selecting a provider by looking at its warranty FIRST. In my opinion, the warranty on the work is a good indicator of the quality of the service.

How do you feel when an unexpected CRACK (the first-ever in over 52 years of marriage!) starts creeping down your windshield? Having seen Safelite in our neighborhood numerous times encouraged us to call them right away. The CSR made us an appointment at our convenience, and the tech not only called the day before with a more targeted arrival time, but again an hour prior. He was quick & efficient - and our windshield was repaired just as we expected. We received an e-receipt shortly after his departure, and all was in order.

We use to love safelite today I found out they no longer service our area or any area near by. They are no longer doing mobile service. They are falsely advertising that they still do in our area. I spoke with a representative and also tried to book an appt. on line and they no longer do mobile service.

Made my appointment for today and was given a time slot between 12 and 5. I had to be home basically all day and the technician never showed up. I called customer service and they tried to contact the shop and no answer (it was about 4:50). It is now 6 p.m. and they are closed with still no call regarding my appointment. If I hadn't already paid I would go with another company. Customer service at it's worst!

I made an appointment in advance for Friday, March 20, between 8 AM and 12 PM to repair my windshield. No one showed up and no one called. I called the main number at 11:45 AM and spoke with an agent. Agent called the tech and then said he would call me right back. He called at 12:30 PM and said he was 20 minutes out. I waited and he called back at 12:50 that he was here. I told him I was in driveway and he was not here. He described the wrong car and could not tell me where he was other than in Virginia. I’m in North Carolina. I read him my address from the Safelite work order and he said he was 1.5 hours away. He suggested I take the car to the Durham repair shop 60 miles away. Called the office back and they assured me if the tech could not make it by 5 PM someone else would be there. We rearranged our schedule to keep the car in driveway all afternoon. No one showed up and no one called. I did receive a text from Safelite this afternoon (Monday) saying that it was a pleasure serving us on Friday. Hopefully, the next appointment is a better experience.

A day after they installed windshield the rear view mirror fell off. I called them and a man came out , installed mirror and the next it fell off . Called a third time, made an appointment and they stood me up . Called a 4th time . The tech came out and said it was my fault, no warranty. Do not use safelite .
Both frustrating and awful customer dis-service. Where do they find these people? The “advisor” who handled my request to schedule a windshield replacement was so nice that I stayed on hold in order to give a compliment to their supervisor. THEN, I found out that much of the information I was given was INCORRECT. After much time on hold and multiple transfers, I spoke to a customer care supervisor. She also was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. She supposedly corrected my issue and told me that she had sent an email confirming said change. I NEVER received said email. I finally went online and successfully cancelled the appointment. I found a different vendor to do the work. Safelite Solutions is just terrible!

Commercial says they can come out to you and replace windshield. I called and they said I would have to drive to their Safelite location. Complete bullshit. Found another place who would replace it for cheaper.

I’ve been having a hard time with this company ever since they installed a replacement windshield on my Defender—it didn't work out because the glass wasn't original. I contacted my insurance provider, and they authorized the installation of an original part. That’s when the real saga began... They scheduled the replacement for a week later; I showed up at the appointed time, only to be told they didn't actually have the windshield in stock. I asked why they hadn't called me to let me know—especially since I live an hour away from their shop—but I received no explanation whatsoever. They rescheduled for the following week, and the exact same thing happened again. I called my insurance company and requested that they cancel all services with this business, as it is clear they have no idea what they are doing. Stay away from them!!

If I could give less than one star, I would. It is very frustrating when I cannot just call a local shop, talk to a human being, set up an appointment, provide only the necessary details, like insurance, car make/model, and move on.
If Safelite is doing so poorly that they can’t afford to have employees at local shops to answer questions on the phone and set up appointments that’s a problem.
If Safelite is prioritizing, saving a few dollars over Customer Service by not having employees at local shops or phone numbers for local shops that show shows exactly what their priorities.
I’m fine using an app or an online portal to set up an appointment. However, if I’m busy like most people, I just want to call and talk to somebody and get it set up. It is much easier and to simply ask my phone to find a local Safelite location and speak to them on the phone. I don’t want to have to navigate through multiple steps on my phone just to set up an appointment.
Phone number for local shops need to be available. I don’t want to call some damn call center.

I scheduled my windshield to be installed today and I was given a time frame from 1 pm to 6 pm this young guy showed up first thing he said was he can't install it because it had silicone around the trim peace so I removed it then he saw two tiny pin holes in the roof above the windshield not whare the glass sets he absolutely refused to install my windshield that I had paid for and lost a days pay for if I can Sue them I will never again will I call them for a windshield then they hung up on me 3 times 06 Nissan Titan crew cab

I had a terrible experience replacing the front windshield on my BMW M5. I waited 4–5 hours for them to calibrate the front camera attached to the windshield, and they couldn’t complete it. They asked me to come back the following week, where I waited another 3–4 hours, again with no success. Now they want me to reschedule for a third time. It’s clear they don’t know what they’re doing. If you own a high-end vehicle, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. They charged me 1200$ for aftermarket piece of trash. This was a complete waste of time and money.
