Process was easy but they rate is criminal. I have a 700-720 credit score and 18% is bananas

The rep that helped me was wonderful and made it all so much easier. Was truly about to go another route but they were able to answer all questions and guide me through the whole process. Call didn't end till I had everything I needed. Thank you Maurice (hope I spelled that right)

It was an easy process but the amount of interest for a student is insane! I get that’s how you make money but consider I am just a student trying to make it

If I could gve less than 1 star I would. They fraudulently induced me into taking a college loan for one of our sons.
We have twin sons. I completed the loan application on line for one son without incident, and received a fair interest rate given market conditions and my credit score. I therefore completed those loan documents. However, as I started to complete the application for our second son, I noticed that the interest rate quoted was 425 basis points higher for the second loan than for the first one.
Instead of completing the second application, I called Sallie Mae's customer service line. The customer service rep I got was very knowledgeable and helpful. She told me that I should have called CS for both loans, but told me that she would be able to get me the same interest rate for the second loan that I did for the first one. I asked her if she was sure and requested that she send me a new application and documents via email. She told me this was not necessary and assured me that if I completed the documents I currently had in front of me, within two days I would receive revised documents reflecting the same rate as the first loan. In reliance on her assurances I completed the documents for the second loan.
Instead, two days later I received a call from a different CS rep telling me they would not revise the loan documents for my second son. I told her that I had been assured that they would. When the CS rep would not budge, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor also refused to help me. Over the next week I placed several calls to Sallie Mae's CS line, asking to speak to supervisors and managers. They all refused to help me. I also asked to speak with the original CS rep who made me the promise, but they would not connect me with her.
The good news is that they record all of their calls and I live in a state where only one party needs to consent to recording a call, so the records of their fraudulent assurances exist. I intend to report them to all applicable regulatory agencies for their outrageous actions.
