Salonist Software Onboarding & Initial Experience Review

We recently purchased Salonist software and have begun using it following the online training sessions provided. Overall, the onboarding experience was smooth, and the training team was supportive and responsive during the sessions.

The software interface is fairly user-friendly, and we are gradually getting comfortable with features like appointment booking, customer management, and billing. However, as we continue exploring the platform in real-time salon operations, we have encountered a few areas where additional clarity and improvements would be helpful.

Some features could benefit from more detailed tutorials or step-by-step guides, especially for advanced functions. It would also be helpful to have quicker access to support when facing minor issues during daily use. Additionally, slight improvements in system speed and navigation would enhance the overall user experience.

We appreciate the effort put into the training and the capabilities of the software. With a bit more refinement and ongoing support, Salonist has the potential to become an even more valuable tool for our business.

This program has been fantastic and i highly recommend it to everyone in the industry.

The platform is easy to use and simple enough to integrate.

The true reason i would give more than 5 stars is for the customer service... of all the programs i have used in my many many years, Salonist is the only customer service who truly cares!
They have been so easy to contact and have bent over backwards to assist me and help me understand.

Not Ready for Medical or Complex

Not Ready for Medical or Complex Businesses, Horrible Support (August 11, 2025)

Salonist.io markets itself as a powerful management tool that "understands your business values" and helps streamline operations for beauty and wellness businesses. They even claim it's a "game-changer" with full integrations and easy appointment management. In reality, it's a broken promise — especially if your business is anything more than a simple salon.

I signed up for the ADVANCED plan in mid-July, expecting a fully set-up system as promised. Instead, I’ve faced a nightmare: three full days just to get basic staff logins working, and even now, core features like appointment history, consent forms, and integrations remain non-functional.

Despite multiple attempts to get help — including emails and messages via WhatsApp — I have received no response. They don’t answer calls or messages. For a company that proudly shares testimonials like #salonistlove, their customer support is completely absent when you actually need it.

If your business is a medical clinic, wellness center, or anything requiring reliable workflows and compliance, avoid Salonist. They are clearly not equipped to handle anything beyond a very basic salon setup.

They claim to help you "transform your business," but instead, they’ve paralyzed mine.

I will update this review in the future — for better or worse — depending on whether they ever respond and fix these issues.
Right now? This is a strong warning: poor functionality, zero support, and broken onboarding. Not recommended.

Salonist is the WORST service provider I have ever encountered!

I was using Fresha for my shop. However Fresha increased the fee, so I look for another provider option.Sadly,after paying first month fee,I just realised the software of Salonist is not well-built and staff is so unprofessional.Then I told them to end service in end of May. In result, they still charged me for Jun and even July! Even I already made a refund enquiry in Jun! I asked again in July and Aug, they replied me they will will refund within 6-7 working days on 15th Aug. OF COURSE, no refund after 2 weeks. I asked again today, and I asked for proof! Then, they blocked me today every time when I started the chat🤯

I am so pissed and that’s not the way to do business by cheating and blocking customers!!!!! Be aware with this extremely worse company!!! They are not what they wrote on internet and so many fake reviews on internet!

Clunky, mid-2000’s style platform with disgraceful staff.

I was made schedule a call before I got access to the dashboard. When I realised how bad the system is, I cancelled the call because it would be a waste of both our times.

When I messaged to cancel and provide feedback why I cancelled and won't be moving ahead (because that's how businesses do better) the sales rep responded with:

Salonist: No issues this is all managed by the backend only this is trusted by 12000+ users world wide. And no software have this sort of features but still you can check others thanks

Me: Why are you being rude?

Salonist: No no not rude dear

How is that a way to respond to someone in a professional manner?

1. You're clearly defensive and cannot take feedback from customers who are giving you valuable information on how you could go from a poor platform to an average platform. You truely know that your platform is poor to react in such a childish manner.

2. You either lied or you don't know salon platforms because Acuity Scheduling and SimplyBookMe offer this as I have been using both of them for multiple businesses.

3. Do not call a potential lead in a B2B setting 'Dear'. I am not your 'Dear' I am a potential lead that would contribute to the payment of your salary and the business from going under.

4. Please take this feedback on board whether it hurts your ego or not, and discuss your sales reps attitude, which is unacceptable. You’re up against Squarespace, a recent publicly stocked company. If you had a better platform and better attitude, you could call yourself a competitor, but right now I feel your only competitor is an excel spreadsheet or appointment notebook.
