Failed Fiber Installation… Need Support from SALT
Waiting 10 days for my Salt Fiber issues to be resolved …. I need support from Salt for this … please contact me with the number of an installer so I can arrange to get it resolved
Service and invoicing issues
I wanted to buy a phone as my old one fell and was not usable anymore. I went to 3 different Salt stores in Bern city and received 3 different rates for the same subscription when all I wanted was a new phone without changing my mobile subscription but somehow I ended up having a new mobile plan, more expensive and an extension of my mobile plan for 24 months. Next time, I’d just go to the next Apple Store/ Interdiscount or Galaxus and buy one new phone. I specifically ask the store to not change my plan and wanted to buy the phone cash at the store but the store manager told me that it was not possible to buy the phone anymore but confirmed to me that my subscription won’t change.
My second issue is the I made the mistake of sending a SMS that was cut in 36 messages and was invoiced 36 times… so it costs me CHF 17.64 to send 1 SMS. Yes my message was long but I found 160 words too little and i didn’t see the counting of the letters while writing.
I found it amazing those high subscriptions prices from the top 3 mobile providers. I am now waiting for my subscription to end and will go with a cheaper mobile phone service provider.

Random Marketing Calls
Salt please reach out to me. This is getting ridiculous. I've been telling you to stop calling me with these sales calls trying to sell me deals on your products. Just cold calling me. This happened about five times now, please just stop it immediately. Never call me again and delete my number from your system. For god sake.

Stuck without internet, unable to work.
I was moving, and once I gave them the fiber connection number they wouldn't respond to any of my emails for 4 weeks. In the last week I called every day.
I really needed the internet as I work from home.
Everybody I was on the phone with said "I don't know why it hasn't continued, I'll re-forward the email"
After being in my new apartment for a week without internet & not being able to do my job, I finally ended up talking with somebody who re-started my moving process and that seemed to work, as I had internet a week later.
They refused to refund me for the two weeks of internet I did not have and still charged me full-price for the address change. But when I switched providers THEN they offer 3 months free... what a joke.

Damm Salt
Salt made a portability and a phone plan, without my permission! They made the portability while I was paying for the phone that is in a collection company, Salt and a piece of crap, they have no respect for customers, I never received, not even a chip from Salt, they want me to pay 1,147, they are thieves

Salt price increase in the same month i become a customer even though they promised lifelong discount!
On the second month i switched to salt they just increased the price with some excuses… We already have a contract but they do not care… And I cannot even get an extra sim. They want to charge smt like 60 chf just to send you an extra sim + 10 chf per month… Before them i was a Swisscom customer. They are expensive but at least they are honorable, no hidden fees no tricks…
Edit: As expected respond from Salt, what kind of person can defend the price increase in the same month of the contract. Anyway be aware that they will try to charge for everything, never go for a binding contract. I will leave as soon as possible…

Would give a zero if possible
Would give a zero if possible. Horrible and unprofessional service. Waited over 20 days to receive a SIM card. Called several times but no one was reliable. Requested to cancel but wanted to charge me a fee eve though they weren’t delivering the service.
Horrible. Stay away from them.

Do not trust Salt
Do not use, and do not trust Salt for your mobile plan. After initially talking to them, they guarantee price and service and etc. I, unfortunately, did not read the contract throughly. Please read section 10, Amendments and assignability, of your contract. It literally states it can change your service and price AT ANY TIME. And, they do. Your price will increase. Even your plan may change.

STAY AWAY
WOW.
I came here expecting the average to be bad, not this bad.
I've been with SALT for 2 years with my mobile line. Horrible. They won't let you limit your expenses above-threshold, their billing is far from clear and customer service is horrible.
They tried rebranding after ORANGE was known for being a horrible supplier. Nothing changed.
Stay away from this crap

Avoid this company
As I can not reply to your email, i simply copy it here with my reply.
"Hello xxxxxxx,
Thank you for trusting Salt as your mobile provider – we are excited to continue serving you this year!
In 2024, we continued our substantial investments to develop a first-class network, recognized for the second consecutive year as “outstanding” in the well-known Connect mobile network test.
Like many service providers, last year, we faced rising operating costs due to increases in electricity expenses (+19% on average), insurance and rents.
While we have absorbed much of these increases through efficiency measures, we will need to adjust your mobile subscription prices by CHF 2.-, starting 1 March 2025 to compensate these rising costs.
Here is how your subscription(s) will be adjusted as of 1 March 2025:
Phone Number Subscription Adjustment
xxxxxxxxxxxxx Swiss XXL + CHF 2.-
xxxxxxxxxxxxx Swiss XXL + CHF 2.-
Only subscriptions that are affected by price adjustments are listed above.
In 2025, we remain dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers at attractive prices.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to counting you among our loyal customers in the future.
Best regards,
Your Salt Team"
My reply:
"hi,
this is ridiculous, i hardly have network coverage in my flat and at my workplace, i cant use the internet properly, plus we signed a contract about a price, and now you want to increase it, because of a made up reason????
In this case I don't want to be your client anymore, so I guess I can break the contract without paying a penalty, right?
You have 1.3 stars rating on Trustpilot, and instead of raising the quality of customer service, communication and the service itself, you are raising prices.
You can not be serious
Regards
A Shocked Client"
Im giving a 1 star rating as there is no option for -100 stars.
Plus the amateurism i am experiencing in regards of the "super high speed home internet", thats still not working after more than one month is another story... I just hope there is functioning consumer protection in Switzerland.
Reply to Sarah:
I wanted to purchase a subscription that would allow me to call EU countries from Switzerland at a reasonable price. However, at the Salt Store, I was sold a Swiss XXL package for this purpose. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the fine print in the contract, which specifies that I can only make local calls within EU countries, not from Switzerland to EU countries, which turns out to be very expensive. I'm not sure if the salesperson misled me intentionally or was simply uninformed about the product, but the situation has left me feeling taken advantage of. Moreover, just three months after signing the contract, I received an email stating that the monthly price would increase by nearly 10%, which is quite "surprising".
Now im trying to get connected via email with the appropriate person so I don't have to navigate the Salt hotline all day. Plus I have everything in written form. I have to waste my precious time with useless things, or I have to pay more. You know, at the end of the day its not about the money, its about the message...

Custom service quality very bad
Custom service quality very bad. Start saying 'thanks for choosing us as best provider in Swizerland blablabla' and two minutes are passed. Then you have to choose among too many different possibilities, and for each of them other many sub-possibilities, and despite this number of choises, the only one you need is not proposed. Trying to select the closest one to what you need, ther is the automatic voice that starts giving you useless infromation and sending messages with instructions on how to search on their website so that they don't need to make available someone for you. I asked for my contract and I even have to pay 9.90 CHF to have it by email, and when I asked where I can find it on the website in my account, she didn't even know. Goodbye salt

terrible aftercare, they change your subscription without your consent, disrupting your contract and when you want to correct it yourself they say it's impossible. Scammers

Misleading advertising
Misleading advertising. Poor telephone service. I have been charged almost 200CHF of extra charges above my subscription due to this (offered 50CHF refund). It took many unclear and contradictory phone calls before I got a better idea of the problem via mail correspondence ( this person was very good but then the feedback survey sent wouldn't work). They claim to be voted the best service provider in Switzerland.

Very bad experience with SALT
Received mobile hub impossible to activate, old model only accepting physical SIM that was not provided. Costume assistance from Portugal ineffective. I was told to go to local SALT shop, 250 km distant. I am still paying monthly without using it.

Haven’t been a client with this trash company for 4+ years.. Still receiving their spammcalls to resubscribe… This year alone 7+ times. Always tell them to remove me from their list. They never do. I keep blocking their number but they use different ones.
Just got another one 3 min ago.. they now know to put salt on the wound.

Misleading information
Misleading information. I bought 100 mins free EU calls, and still got charged 2ish CHF per minute. That's called rip off.
Reply to Salt:
Yes, Sarah, there was a reason for charging the extra fee: the reason was that I got misleading information in your shop and bought the wrong product (your website offer is also misleading, people have to go through the whole PDF of the offer to see what they are exactly buying). You should take responsibility and communicate your offers clearly.

Quality and expertise could not be worse
I spent 5 weeks trying to set up a cellular plan for our son's Apple Watch SE, including 4 visits in the Salt store and a dozen calls with customer support. Generally, nobody seemed interested in helping me, mostly due to a gaping lack of expertise. I've been BEGGING them to activate the watch connect option for me as this was the missing piece in getting everything running, but they just ignored it, god knows why. I've really had enough now, quit the plan and went to Swisscom without even using it once on the smart watch.
Also: their website is a catastrophe, you need to clear your cache every time you use it if you have multiple plans with Salt.
It's a shame, I've been with Orange/Salt/Sunrise (they changed their name/ownership so many times) since 25 years.

Salt Is a SCAM
Salt Is a SCAM. Stay away, even if there offers seem interesting. You cannot speak to finance (to resolve an issue, they just escalate the demand and tell you, we understand your point and you are correct, but nothing gets solved, just escalated).
They will block your data (even if you advised them you wanted to change plan) because you needed it increased, but there contract department and finance took over two weeks to get in touch with you (by the way, still waiting for a call back, and this after the problem has been escalated 8 times) so up to thus date, the 17th of December 2024, still waiting.
The telecom industry in Switzerland should have a supervisory body, companies like Salt are getting away with scamming clients and holding them hostage, even when all fees are paid.

I bought "unlimited data in Europe"…
I bought "unlimited data in Europe" because I commute cross border and was planning for a trip where I need data. But after just 20 GB my connection speed was suddenly capped to 0.01 GBPS, completley unusable, even for loading text!!! There was nothing written about this limitation on my page or my contract. This is an outright scam, and IF they want to sell a service with this limitation, they need to inform their customers much better about it so you are not stuck on the road trying to find a hotel, and your internet suddenly become useless. Suddenly not having a data connection can have real life consequences!!!
