Very unhappy

Very unhappy. Great credit rating / history, provided detail application, and refused credit. Not helpful and the response is ambiguous to say the least. I am not sure how on earth you can see that as acceptable in terms of managing something like this, but I guess given the size of company, you'll do nothing. Avoid, and try another bank (even if you have an excellent credit rating / score), are employed and have property!

The worst bank ever

The worst bank ever, this bank should be put out of business. They don't care about their customers one but, all they care about is to accumulate interest and revenue from fees. Their customer service representatives pick up calls, stay mute like they do not hear you and then hang up, happened to me many times. Stay away from this bank by any means necessary!

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, I have purchased a used car loan through this company. I've only had the loan for 2 months and have had problems from day one. Despite the fact that I registered the account online to have online access for payments, I'm unable to log in to the account. I've spoken to a few customer service representatives and was told my information is registered to a previous account, my account was never registered, and the last I was told was that they could have anything associated with the account deleted, and I would have to register the account again. I just spoke to someone in the executive office and was told that they don't have access to deleting anything from my account; this would be done by tech support. I'm beyond frustrated because I was told that my account issues would be resolved last month. If possible, please find another auto finance company to work with for your needs. I've purchased several cars before and never had any issues when it came to making a payment.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. You get connected to someone via phone and it disconnects. You get connected to someone via chat and they take 10 minutes to reply, then end the chat without solving anything or getting back

Justin ID # 10088923 is rude and terribly slow with support. I shouldnt be waiting 5+ minutes for you to tell me to and then he ended the chat without doing anything or saying anything

Absolutely horrible bank

Absolutely horrible bank. App never works. Online is a waste of time because it never lets you log in. This place will nickel and dime you to death! $3 charge just to pay a bill? Good luck trying to find anyone in customer service and when you do they are completely incapable of answering question

No-one at Santander Cares!!!!

Still not able to access my account after over a week of phone calls (all in excess of 10 min wait) and nothing happens - they make promises such as we will ring you back (they don't), we will write to you (they haven't) - at my wits end with them - no-one seems to care.

I had a very bad experience with this…

I had a very bad experience with this bank and the business department is horrendous.

Customer service is so bad and they're so incompetent and they do tell you things that not true and really let you down but no one takes any responsibility for it

For years I had a great banking…

For years I had a great banking experience, a customer service legacy from their Alliance and Leicester days. Now poor communication between the various parts and a complaints department that will maintain black is white rather than learn from failings. Same really, because they are becoming a failing bank.

SANTANDER caused my 95 year old grandmother and I unnecessary stress!

SANTANDER caused my 95 year old grandmother and I unnecessary stress. This is the thanks that we received, after having been loyal customers for almost 30 years! They truly are ruthless and they deserve to go under!! After having ignored my multiple emails and phone calls, I sent their corporate office following email to the SANTANDER executive team and they could care less!!

“I am writing to formally express my strong objection to the recent notice I received stating that my Santander Bank checking and money market accounts will be transferred to Community Bank.

I have been a loyal Santander customer for approximately thirty (30) years. My account was opened in Staten Island, New York, where I was born and raised. About twelve years ago, I relocated to Allentown, Pennsylvania, and have continued to use Santander branches throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York without interruption, due the fact that I travel throughout all three states for work on a daily basis. I have never considered closing my accounts precisely because of Santander’s accessibility and reliability.

To my surprise, I recently received a letter informing me that my accounts are being sold to Community Bank. This is deeply concerning, as my accounts were not opened in a branch affected by this transition. When I contacted customer service, the representative confirmed that this appeared to be an error, since my accounts originated in Staten Island, New York. Yet, despite this acknowledgment, I was not given any option to remain with Santander Bank. All I was told were lies (e.g., a Tier 2 rep acknowledged the error, stated that she was going to escalate the call and get back to me.). The CSC Tier 2 Customer Service Rep named Nancy K. has ignored three of my emails. Today a Customer Service Rep further lied stating that “I as the customer could not take this issue any higher.” I reeducated the Rep by reminding her that she has a supervisor and therefore, that she needed to escalate my call, which she had not done.

This situation is not only inconvenient but creates a significant hardship. My debit card is directly linked to my 95-year-old grandmother’s Santander account, which allows me to transfer funds on her behalf for essential expenses such as food and bills. If my account is moved, it will become impossible for me to manage these transactions without traveling two and a half hours each way to her local branch in New Jersey. This is completely unreasonable and unacceptable.

I have been informed that my accounts will be “disabled” by November 7th if I do not transition to Community Bank. Let me be absolutely clear:

I do not authorize Santander Bank to close or transfer my accounts. I expect my accounts to remain active and intact under Santander Bank, without interruption or change.

I am requesting:

Immediate written confirmation that my account will remain with Santander Bank.
A detailed explanation of why my account, opened in Staten Island, NY, was included in this transfer without my authorization.
Prompt corrective action to ensure my banking relationship with Santander continues without disruption.

After thirty years of trust and loyalty, this situation is both disappointing and unacceptable. I expect a timely written response and resolution to this matter prior to the deadline of November 7th when my debit card will be deactivated.

Should I not receive any timely response from Santander Bank, I will gladly consult my attorney.”
Stay away from SANTANDER!!

It's goodbye good riddance Santander

It's goodbye good riddance Santander. 48 years loyalty and you treated me like a money launderer. Why ? Because the executors of my grandfather's estate deposited my inheritance into my current account earlier this year .

They restricted my account as they weren't happy with the paperwork the executors provided. But Barcleys were happy with the checks prior to sending me it . Will checked . Death certificate supplied . Checks we were who we said we were . All good with Barcleys. Butnot Santander.

No payments in or out of my accounts for 12 days . Payments sent to PayPal recalled. Meaning I was issued with a £12 late payment bill today .

I'm now expecting this to affect my credit score which has been at 999 with Experian for over 16 years . Savings in the bank and couldn't even buy food or fuel for sale .

Complained in branch only for the chap to look down on me .

However Natwest have been fantastic. Arranged a switch twice . But was refused by Santander. Clearly wanting to hold onto my savings.

An official complaint and temporary access to get some funds . So like a stealth bomber I swept in and cleared out all 7 accounts with them .

I won't be back . Shove your Cahoot account at 4.60% where the sun don't shine.

I rather earn less with full access and no threats in future.

You did the same 2 years ago . I should have left then . A big mistake that was .

Avoid

This company is TERRIBLE

This company is TERRIBLE! I've had an auto loan through them for years and just recently did I have to sell the car and the buyer doesn't even have full rights to the car yet! I got a buyer and we had to jump through hoops just to get the thing sold. I was lucky to be with the buyer so we can go step by step together.
10/5 They don't take wire transfers so I had to attach the buyer's checking to the account to pay off the car. They told the buyer to give ME the money or make a legal contract to insure I don't steal the money! Super risky on the buyer's behalf! Luckily we got it paid and set up mailing to go to the buyer.

10/7 payment goes through and clears the account. I give the buyer the title and sign it over. Buyer gets temps and we wait for the lien.

10/21 buyer is wondering where the lien is. I call Santander and had to go through 3 agents to get an answer! They didn't say anything after payment but it wasn't until I called that the release just so happened to be sent out on 21st! Said it'd take 7-14 business days and not to the mailing address which we set up the buyer's address as. It's going to my physical address. If I were to move some random person would've gotten the lien and we wouldn't have known! I asked if we can get the lien docs emailed the 3rd person said yes it'll take 3-5 business days. 5 business days later. Nothing. Not in spam folder or trash. Just nothing.

10/27 Buyer gets a letter but it's not the lien. Just says the account was paid off on the 7th and to allow 30 days for the payment to reflect on my credit report.

I've yet to get the lien mailed to me or have anyone talk to or keep in contact with me besides receipts. Anytime I try to call someone I get a vague answer or they don't know what they're doing. I have to call multiple times just to get an answer that may or may not even be right!

Seriously, avoid this company at all cost. Do NOT let them handle your money or take loans.

Santander charged me a wrongful fee on…

Santander charged me a wrongful fee on a card that was frozen and at £0 balance. Despite me calling up and them returning the fees, they still reported it as a missed payment. I spoke to a disgustingly rude customer service adviser who didn’t even try to listen to my query when I asked him to remove the missed payment off the report. He didn’t even attempt or try and accused me of seeking ”special treatment” despite the fact I had resolved the issue with Santander prior and had all funds returned to me and an apology from Santander. Disgusted

Santander UK the worst bank ever!

I’ve been trying to claim a payback and it’s impossible to communicate by any means.
There is absolutely no reason why I shouldn’t get a payback under the consumers rights act. I’ve been trying for weeks to no avail.
Just a pity I didn’t read the reviews before opening an account.
Absolutely appalling, no customer care at all. An hour to get through on the phone and then no help at all.
Needless to say I’ve closed my account.
