Horrible experience, Ave Maria Lane, London

I've been coming on and off for nearly 30 years and have rarely had a good haircut in the last few years. The teachers treat clients and students with contempt. They are not professional. They do not seem to care about teaching and are not skilled at it. Haircuts are not checked and often take longer than they should because the teacher is cutting a clients hair that they are enjoying rather than teaching. Riding on the brand reputation can only last so long if it is abused. It is not worth 4 hours of your time if you leave with a bad haircut and are dehumanised. A skilled student may be your saving grace but I won't take the risk. I will not be coming back.

Had my hair done in Leeds today
I pretended I liked it because I was embarrassed to say anything but I’m really disappointed
£362 for cut and highlights and It looks exactly the same apart from shorter colour just the same
I wanted ice white I know it can take a couple of attempts but I was already blonde do surely couldn’t be that difficult
The staff were lovely but I won’t be returning I could honestly cry after spending all that money

Terrible hair cutting experience in…

Terrible hair cutting experience in SASSOON@SANRIZZ locate in 38A Brunswick Square WC1N 1AE!

When the hair cut was about to end, I suffered from discriminatory treatment and a very bad attitude! When the hair was cut close to 5 pm, the lecturer did not teach the barber in order, but skipped me and directly taught the other two barbers who cut the hair of European girls. My barber was the last person taught by the lecturer after 5 pm.

And the boss of this shop directly reached out to me and throw my shawl away rudely . Please note that this is a really rude gesture to pull it off, not to help me take it off, and to do this rude behaviour in front of all the people in the house! It's really the first time that I have been subjected to such bad behaviour in a consume place, and it's not how harsh my requirements are, but that they were incompetent but still want to be lazy and even think they were absolutely right and attacked you.

When I was about to leave, I still politely said goodbye to the fierce looking man-the boss, but the fierce looking man didn't answer me at all and didn't even look at me. I really can't use words to describe how angry I was! When I came to the front desk of the salon, I said that I had been treated with unprecedented unfriendliness today. The receptionist said that because the fierce man was the owner of the salon, and he was always very unfriendly to many people!

I have been doing this for decades

It’s a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you get an incredible cut, really out of this world. I think they know the cut you want, but they have to teach certain cuts to their students, so they can’t give it too you very often. Then occasionally you get a cut that’s weird and it makes you feel bad. What you get is much better than a high street salon. It’s a lot cheaper and you have to sit for 3 hours which is exhausting. On the whole the cuts are much much better than at high street salons.

Vidal Sassoon -you are back!

Vidal Sassoon -you are back!! Total redemption - after my complaint to them a few months ago they were great in letting me wait to return post Covid and they gave me the best cut and colour eveeeeeeeer! On the house and with all the bucket loads of talent and skill I always associate with them. Sooooooo pleased. Finally everyone saying again how fantastic my hair looks and asking me who does it! The heart and soul of Sassoon’s is very much alive and kicking - big thank you to them - Edward, Silvia and whole team at Chelsea plus co itself.

Really bad experience May 2021

Really bad experience May 2021, the class instructor Kitty was rude, bossy, hypocritical, she clearly made the trainees nervous, my trainee, a really lovely lady, who was retraining after the pandemic has made her redundant was exceptionally nice and clearly wanted to do a good job, but was clearly nervous of instructor, who at one point put her arms over the trainee from behind to demonstrate something and when asking if that was ok to do it, after having started, clearly put the trainee in an awkward position, instructor also kept getting the trainees names mixed up. Very unpleasant unprofessional experience. Tried to raise a complaint about her behaviour at the salon, never got a response.

Save your hair and don't even consider this HELL

Understood going into this that these were not fully qualified hairdressers, so prepared for a slightly wonky cut or maybe a few bad layers. I've ended up with quite possibly the worst haircut of my life- essentially a mullet but not even a well-cut one.

I specifically asked for a completely different cut and the intimidating teacher continuously pushed for an edgier look. His student obviously listened to him and not me despite voicing how I didn't like how it was going multiple times.

I think it's so unprofessional to be teaching these students to cut whatever they want and to not listen to clients. I think I've got about two years before this will grow out and I am devasted. Having to book in for hair extensions will cost me hundreds of pounds as I can't even style out or try and cover up this disaster. Nothing would ever convince me to return to that place and I highly suggest you read all the other atrocious reviews and not make the same mistake I did.

WORST HAIRCUT IN MY LIFE!!!

WORST HAIRCUT IN MY LIFE!!!
Came for a simple trimming and few layers.. would have never thought it can go so wrong ... the poor lad was so nervous he kept dropping his equipment on the floor.!! I was reassured that the teachers keep things safe... wrong again ... that didn’t happen ..
I am one of these polite hopefuls, who sits put.. hoping it will be fine .. and then gradually realise the damage.. so after they’ve ironed my hair I still had hope that if I wash it at home it will look ok..!! Wrong again !! I know I should have complained there and then but to be honest I wouldn’t even have let the teacher fix it !! And I know everybody needs to learn...& we all make mistakes .. but ..!!
So disappointing, now I’ll have to spend a fortune on fixing at a proper place. But worst and saddest thing is that waiting game for my hair to grow back. Learnt lesson. Never again !!! My first time at Sassoon academy; And my hair looks like it’s been nibbled-off by mice :(

Twice I went for a haircut and each…

Twice I went for a haircut and each time for the next few weeks I had to wear a hat!!! until my hair grew out.
When I went for a cut, I showed the instructor a picture of a pixie cut - and said I wanted something similar - instead he encouraged the student to shave my head. Once again I am wearing a hat for the past two weeks. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Had my first experience of Vidal…left upset once I saw they’d cut too much

Had my first experience of Vidal Sassoon academy today (I usually go to HOB in Camden). The length of time was over 3 hours and a lot longer then any modelling cut I’ve had over the years. I wanted 2 inches off the length and a tidy up and the guy cut off over 5 inches as he was correcting a rounding mistake (thanks). The students take their own before and after pics but at no time are you shown the back of your hair or asked if your happy ... the assumption is it’s cheap and you can’t complain. Annoyed 😒 more then double what i wanted was chopped off and also yes it’s cheap but other academies do cuts for free in less time and your not upset when you leave.

Terrible

I paid £30 to have my roots highlighted here. Afterwards the roots looked exactly the same - the roots didn't look any lighter. The highlights were basically non-existant. I was rudely told if I was specific about what I wanted then I should go to a salon. This isn't good enough- I'd paid £30 - it's not a free service. I wasn't happy but they wouldn't fix it. They said they couldn't put more highlights in as it wouldn't look natural. Well it certainly didn't loom natural the way they did it as I still had massive dark roots with a line where the previous dye was. As far as I'm concerned, you don't pay £30 to let the trainee do whatever they like and then get sent away if you're not happy. If that's the service then they shouldn't charge as you're doing th trainees a favour letting them mess with your hair and do a job you're not happy with and never agreed to in the first place. They wouldn't fix it so I was sent home unhappy and £30 poorer. I ended up having to dye my roots myself as they looked so bad.
If you want a good model cut go to Toni and guy acadamy. It's cheaper and they're not rude to you. And you go away with what you asked for (and if they want to do something different it's discussed beforehand- no nasty surprises at the end).
Vidal Sassoon academy did not dye my hair the way that was discussed and agreed in the consultation and I'm extremely unhappy to have wasted half a day and £30.

If You Don't Look Good, We Don't Look Good! Vidal Sassoon!

I really enjoyed the hair cutting services presented to me by the Sassoon Academy.

I have been trying to be their hair cutting model for years and the perseverance finally paid off!

I made an appointment last week and was finally seen today being Thursday, October 20th, 2016.

The academy has been around in the Santa Monica area for the past 15 years and is becoming bigger and better! They operate several floors and teach only the best in hair design and instruction and are always in the need for models who are more than willing to let their students practice their top hair cutting skills on them such as myself.

When I arrived, I was greeted by Karim who is their Receptionist and then I met with Dwight who is their North American Show And Event Coordinator who answered a lot of my questions and gave me a fantastic tour later on.

Very soon, I got to meet Kelsey, my hair stylist who has been cutting hair back east for the past 3-4 years who was being supervised by Matthew, her instructor who has been with the Sassoon Academy for the past three (3) years.

My overall experience for the 2.5 hours was Excellent and I enjoyed every minute of it including the long conversations that I had with my stylist during my visit.

I also ended up getting a Fantastic Fade Haircut and was very Satisfied with the results.

I more than Highly Recommend the Sassoon Academy to anyone looking for a Great Haircut or to anyone looking for a Great Hair Cutting School To Study At.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Howard Paul Shore
