Customer Service doesn’t exist
Please be careful with Zenith. I opened a 3 year fixed rate bond but then noticed that interest is paid annually. This is unsuitable for me (I require the interest to be paid on maturity) so I didn’t fund the account and attempted to cancel it, but couldn’t find any option to do so.
This is when I realised that Zenith offer NO customer service. Online Chat, after waiting 34 minutes, advised me to call into branch but I pointed out that there aren’t any branches (except perhaps in London?). I suspect I wasn’t actually dealing with a person and if I was, they were just there selecting automated responses. I was then given an email address. I received an immediate automatic reply, telling me to obtain support via online chat! I then found another email address but again just received an immediate automated response telling me they were dealing with high volumes of emails and provided answers to some FAQ, none of which helped me.
I now feel totally relieved that I didn’t actually invest with Zenith. My impression of them is now very poor. I expect the next email from them will be to ask why I haven’t funded my account. With any luck, when they see it remains unfunded after the initial 14 days. they will close.
I have now invested with another bank, this time via Raisin, who I strongly recommend. Zenith have previously been on Raisin, but not anymore. Interesting…
UPDATE - After providing me with a unique reference number and bank account details (when I initially signed up), stating I must fund my account within 14 days, four days later Zenith have now sent an email stating ‘Unfortunately, your application was not successful’. No reason given. Thank goodness I never funded this account!
At least it should all now be closed down.
