Zenith bank Ghana Stole my 6000ghana cedis

Zenith bank Ghana don't even deserve a single ⭐ star just yesterday 13/02/25 my 1200 Ghana cedis just got missing or vanished from my Zenith bank account without a trace and this is the second time Zenith bank has taken my money from my bank with out a trace last year 2024 the bank took my 6000 GH cedis . I fought with them for months before they payed me . To day I have given them just 6 hours to return my money or else am going live on Facebook and on ticktok to tell the world how bad Zenith bank is and what they did in Brazil

Efficient & helpful

I opened a 6 month fixed term (/rate) deposit account with Zenith following a recommendation on Martin Lewis’ MSE app
Applying for the account was straightforward & efficient.
Funding the account differs from other institutions in that you make transfers into Zenith’s UK-based bank account (held with Barclays) using a unique reference number supplied to you along with the account no & sort code. The following working day, deposits are processed / reconciled and allotted to your Zenith account.
Obviously, as there is no app or online banking, you need to wait for email confirmation and this isn’t sent until your deposit has been placed into your Zenith account.
I was nervous about this & reached out to the bank to check that all was well. They responded promptly to my email and when I late rang them with a query, the call was answered almost immediately and my query was resolved instantly by a very polite & kind gentleman.
Prior to maturity, I received a reminder that the date was approaching and was kept well informed.
The funds - plus interest - were returned to my current account at midnight on the maturity date.
I would not hesitate to recommend Zenith but you must, must, must read the Ts&Cs and understand the process. All the info is supplied to you in a clear & precise manner at the outset.

Interactive chat on their website was…

Interactive chat on their website was appalling. i sat there for half an hour and got no response, though I could see the agents had 'seen' my questions. The first agent dropped me for no reason.

I have a fixed rate bond due to mature…

I have a fixed rate bond due to mature and no postal communication re maturity options. I got an email but with a cut off date re selecting maturity options. This cut off date was weeks before maturity date. I was unable to respond before the cut off. I have now emailed them but not getting a response. They do not deserve my money.

I have just opened my second account

I have just opened my second account. My first 1 year bond matured and I got the savings and interest back without problem. I received emails when the money was originally deposited into the account. When I rang, customer services answered the phone within a minute and were very professional and helpful. I have now opened a 6 month bond. No problems at all!

Customer Service doesn’t exist

Please be careful with Zenith. I opened a 3 year fixed rate bond but then noticed that interest is paid annually. This is unsuitable for me (I require the interest to be paid on maturity) so I didn’t fund the account and attempted to cancel it, but couldn’t find any option to do so.
This is when I realised that Zenith offer NO customer service. Online Chat, after waiting 34 minutes, advised me to call into branch but I pointed out that there aren’t any branches (except perhaps in London?). I suspect I wasn’t actually dealing with a person and if I was, they were just there selecting automated responses. I was then given an email address. I received an immediate automatic reply, telling me to obtain support via online chat! I then found another email address but again just received an immediate automated response telling me they were dealing with high volumes of emails and provided answers to some FAQ, none of which helped me.
I now feel totally relieved that I didn’t actually invest with Zenith. My impression of them is now very poor. I expect the next email from them will be to ask why I haven’t funded my account. With any luck, when they see it remains unfunded after the initial 14 days. they will close.
I have now invested with another bank, this time via Raisin, who I strongly recommend. Zenith have previously been on Raisin, but not anymore. Interesting…

UPDATE - After providing me with a unique reference number and bank account details (when I initially signed up), stating I must fund my account within 14 days, four days later Zenith have now sent an email stating ‘Unfortunately, your application was not successful’. No reason given. Thank goodness I never funded this account!
At least it should all now be closed down.

Poor experience

Tried to open an account via Raisin , I have an excellent credit rating and money in the bank to fund my application. It was refused without giving a reason , which is quite upsetting when no financial institution in 40 years has ever refused an application from me . Quite offended and I hope Raisin take them off their platform …

Zenith is very lncompetent

Zenith is very incompetent, they linked my mobile number to my account while l was out of the country without my knowledge and kept charging me for sms service while the sim was inactive. I did my BVN with a new sim when MTN said l could not retrieve the line again. I also reinstated my account but zenith did not update the mobile number. MTN sold the line to someone else who started using my account to buy airtime. When I asked customer care service how much has gone out of mine account, she said N9, 000 but when I was later allowed access into the account, l realised the perpetrator had bought airtime of N15,000 within a week. I could have also noticed earlier than when I did but their network service is very bad these days.

Rubbish customer service

Rubbish customer service. Contacted them via their online ‘chat’. Hopeless. Nobody responded for ages, then when they did, they asked me how they could help even though I’d already typed this. I repeated my query. Nobody responded for ages again. Sent a follow-up prompt to see if anyone was still there and same person apologised for the delay and AGAIN asked me to remind them of my query! Despite the query being typed twice already in the chat history, the second time at their request! For a THIRD time I typed out my query and again nobody responded. After wasting so long already and without getting further than being asked my query, I gave up. I won’t be using them again.

Nigeria backed bank

Went through application process real pain to get passport in why they need it in such detail is strange. So started checking out and noted they are subsidiary of a Nigeria bank their main website has lots of bad reviews from Nigeria customers. Thats really worrying if you know anything about that country which I do so think I won't take risk!!!

Zenith / Raisin don't waste your time

OK 1st time I admit I didn't put my full passport number in. 2nd time I did.
I admit defeat this really isn't worth the effort. I won't use raisin again and zenith I have never used and destined never to.

Refused savings account - no explanation!

Like other reviews, I tried to open a savings account with Zenith (through Raisin) after it was recommended by the Martin Lewis money saving expert.com website. I have an excellent credit rating (though I’m not applying for credit!), was born and have lived in the UK all my life, and have never been turned down for any type of account I’ve ever applied for. Of course, you can’t get ANY information about why you’ve been turned down for the savings account. You’re just left angry, frustrated and worried but there is nothing you can do about it and no explanation either. I would NOT recommend Zenith to anyone I’m afraid.

Zenith Bank poor service on Raisin platform.

I opened up a fixed saving account with Zenith using the Raisin platform. I provide all the information required and the money. The account was being processed. The next day the money was returned with an email stating my application had been rejected. It also stated that its company policy not to give an explanation and so there is no way of correcting the matter. It would be nice to know what the problem was with my application.

I have an excellent credit history spanning 30 years. So I am very disappointed with the service from Zenith. Raisin is excellent and I have used it for several years without any problems so they should look at vetting those banks on its platform who provide a poor service to its Raisin customer base.
