They were really great before DNB…
They were really great before DNB bought them, now they are the worst. DNB does not really care for their customers.
DNB has destroyed what was Norway’s…
DNB has destroyed what was Norway’s best bank. Fees have gone up, customer service down and the new app is terrible.
Just no. Bye DNB.
What where they thinking? They had a great and intuitive app, and now they give us THIS? I can't even figure out how to pay my bills. All basic functionality is now gone.
Ruined bank
This bank is ruined by DNB. They have removed everything that was great, including the online bank.
Horrible service after DnB took over
Horrible service after DnB took over. Been happy customer customer since 2000 until DnB took over. Impossible to get accounts closed. Impossible to get through on customer service phone (been waiting 25+min repeatedly, w/o result). No service via mail, just referral to phone... No option to raise cases securely via app. No option in Norway to raise "Forbruker" complaint via e.g. Forbrukerrådet.
I have been with Sbanken since 2014
I have been with Sbanken since 2014, it was excellent. Since the DNB takeover, it is now a shambles. Bear in mind that the mighty DNB have had plenty of time to set the App up, it is still doesn't have the functionality of the old App since before Easter. My advice is avoid at all costs, and DNB of course, who incidentally have the nerve to say Sbanken is a DNB concept.
Stay AWAY
Stay AWAY! Norways best and cheapest bank was bought by the worst and most expensive bank (DNB). This has lead to crap functionality, even basic functionality like an online-bank has been removed. I have been a customer with Sbanken, formerly Skandiabanken, for over 15 years. But in its present form Sbanken is simply impossible to use even for simple banking-needs, and I have left for another bank.
From time to time they send some random…
From time to time they send some random sms in Norwegian that the online banking will not work for 3 days, most likely holidays when you travel.
Think 3 times before you sign up for this bank it is really bad.
And they do not support Apple Pay so welcome back in 2010 with your wallet.
App is horrible
In norwegian ONLY
Hopeless customer service
After having been a loyal customer to Sbanken over the last 20 years (first Kreditkassen) I am very disappointed in them after they merged into DnB last year. End of March '24 they will stop their online banking only leaving banking over smart phone as an option. I don't want that so best solution for me is to transfer my account to the DnB main bank. After several phone calls with the customer service they agreed to go ahead with this transfer and I was going to be contacted to execute this by a special department. Several appointments were made but nobody took the trouble of calling me back! Good to know how much they care for their loyal customers! Due to technical reasons I cannot initiate this myself with DnB so I am totally depending on the helpdesk of Sbanken. Trying to reach them by phone means long (and costly- I live abroad) waiting times of over 30 minutes and for that reason chatting is also impossible. Their website closes itself due to the long waiting time before a chat opens too! So frustrating when people are keeping you in the dark with empty promises. I don't know what to do anymore. Thank you Sbanken for your loyal support!
Consumed by greedy giant
DNB either purposefully destroyed a Sbanken by purchasing their competitor and then deliberately making it worse, or the DNB is run by incompotent people. Are the they corrupt or just stupid?
SBanken has become a shi**y bank
SBanken has become a shi**y bank after DnB took over. EVERYTHING becomes much more expensive. SMS increases from NOK 1 to NOK 2, i.e. 100%. It costs almost NOK 250 more to withdraw NOK 10,000 abroad, and the exchange rate is not taken into account. You have to look for a long time to find an equal garbage collector as SBanken
Victim 💔
Fake ,scam and ponzi . I was locked of my account for weeks .I had to find an alternative by reporting to the team/website written on my profile name and later got my refund of £53k
Offering better interest rate but....
They offer for refinancing of house loan, offering good interest rate. But this is "devil in disguise" and belive me not possible, even worst... You can see influence of DNB and DNB mindset, better say away from this bank
Had Sbanken all my life
Had Sbanken all my life. Now its the end for me. so much trouble now and they not even offer apple pay anymore. DNB (the bank who bought them) are the worst and cannot be trusted at all. cansel 100%
They used to be good before DNB
They used to be good before DNB. DNB took away Apple Pay. DNB are taking away Kodecards so now if anything is stolen abroad you are fu***ed.
They are also taking the p*** by saying "Concept from DNB", just insulting to the older customers.
They can take your money any time
I was a happy customer of Skandiabanken for nearly 20 years, however, after they recently got bought up by DNB, Norway's largest and worst bank, I got a user experience from hell. Despite having transferred funds to Coinbase USA for years, multiple times, they just froze my bank account. Told me in plain words that my money in their bank belonged to them, not me. They illegally confiscated my assets and only after I threatened to sue them did I get my money back. Today it was crypto they did not like, tomorrow it will be your politics, Russian relatives, carbon footprint or something equally absurd that will make them freeze your assets. Horrible experience.
Sbanken is DNB owned
Since Sbanken is now part of and owned by DNB (Norway's worst bank), they can no longer be trusted. It's a shame because they used to be a good bank. It seems like the management couldn't care less about their customers anymore. The DNB ownership is already showing with less customer service and higher loan interests.
Life's too short to use this bank
If you are not from Norway this is absolutely NOT the bank for you. Expect endless trips to the post office to try (and fail) to verify your passport. Over 12 months I've tried three times (the nearest PO is 45 minutes away). On the last occasion the verification process crashed Posten's scanner computer so heavily it took 3 hours to resurrect.
They've known about this since at least 2018 (see article on Oslo desk about one Korean's experience or read the reviews below). Yet they haven't bothered to fix it.
You'll be stuck with a half-opened bank account, unable to access your money.
Life's too short for S'banken's incompetence.
By comparison Lunar Bank (a Norwegian neobank) took approximately 5 minutes to scan my passport by their app. But they can't give you a bankID (yet).
Unable to provide BankID
Unable to provide BankID - they sent me to their competitors. If you are new to Norway, avoid this bank as it's useless to engage with them.
Long waiting times
Tried to open an account on this bank, however it's already more than a month and I still haven't received anything from them. I have to go to the post office for four times just to retrieve my letter but then I wasn't able to get it, nothing was given to me because their scanner wasn't working and it is really needed to have my passport scanned. They told me to go look for a public notary to have my documents notarized and so I did. I waited patiently, after weeks they messaged me that I can now LOG IN. But then it doesn't work because I need the one time password which I don't have (well I do have it, I just can't retrieve it in the post due to technical problems), so they said I have to wait because they will send it through post in the post office again. I don't get it why can't they just send it to my personal address, it actually works in other countries and it only takes 1-2 weeks in opening a bank. My salary is pending due to this situation. I suggest them to open more bank offices around Norway especially in Oslo which is the Capital City of the country.
