I purchased a 3 GB Minecraft server…
I purchased a 3 GB Minecraft server from ScalaCube, thinking it would easily handle my small modpack. After spending hours setting everything up and even cutting my mod list almost in half, the server still crashed constantly and couldn’t load the world properly.
The problem isn’t my setup — it’s their servers. They advertise that a few gigabytes of RAM are enough for modded Minecraft, but in reality, their system demands much more than it should. Even lightweight modpacks struggle to run unless you upgrade to a much more expensive plan.
When I reached out for help, I realized that their “recommended” plans are just a way to push customers into paying more. The 3 GB plan is practically unusable for modded servers, and it’s misleading to suggest otherwise.
If you value transparency and fair service, stay away from ScalaCube. There are better hosts out there that actually deliver the performance they promise. For me, this was a waste of time and money.

However, our development team constantly review the modpacks we support, and update their requirements based on the recommendations of its creators and the results of multiple performance tests.
This helps ensure that not only players have a smoother experience, but that the modpack are up to speed with the changes their creators make. However, we can recognize that this can be inconvenient for users on a budget or ones returning after a break.
Furthermore, the performance issues you've reported are due to the server reaching its memory limit. While you can continue running your mods on a 3GB plan, you may expect fluctuations in the server's performance, as our development team has confirmed that the recommended plan in our Plan Constructor page is higher than the one you chose.
That said, we apologise for any negative experiences you may have had.

Scale cube is one of the best minecraft server clients ive ever used
ScaleCube has been one of the best hosting services I’ve used for Minecraft. The setup was quick, the control panel is easy to navigate, and installing Forge or modpacks was way smoother than I expected. Server performance has been consistent with low lag, even when multiple players are on and running mods. Their pricing is solid for the amount of RAM and features you get. I also like that backups and file access are straightforward, so managing the server doesn’t feel like a chore. Overall, ScaleCube has delivered reliable performance and good value, definitely a 5-star host for Minecraft servers.
