Really impressed by Scamavert

I have been using Scamavert for a few weeks now, and I have been genuinely impressed.

I originally was looking for something to help protect my parents from AI-generated posts, scams and suspicious websites, especially after they were recently targeted by scammy offers via emails and text messages (and I have been getting those too).

What really surprised me is how quickly scamavert flags scammy chats and websites. I use it myself and get alerts about suspicious investment posts shared in WhatsApp group chats, as well as messages from people I don't know but who are in the same group.

For my parents, I have set myself up as their guardian, and I am receiving alerts when they come across scammy posts and websites. That alone makes me love the app!

Quite a unique application!!

Quite a unique app. It’s clearly early days, but after seeing a few ads and checking out their Facebook, I decided to give it a try.

The app feels like a mix between anti-phishing, a scam chat assistant, and remote-access monitoring, with a social engineering protection layer on top. It basically watches what you’re looking at and gives context-aware advice. For example, it flagged a job scam conversation immediately.

I’d love a mobile version since most scam attempts come to my phone (they say it’s coming soon). My only feedback would be to make the installation process clearer and simpler. It installs a bit like an antivirus, and I almost completely missed the need to install it or figure out how to make it work.

Overall, I love the concept. I’ll overlook the rough onboarding and lack of mobile support since they’re clearly in open beta and actively seeking feedback.
