This is a great school to learning motion graphics. I like how the videos to have a lot in them but you are able to grasp a lot of concepts with practice. I want to expand my skills within the motion graphics area and this school does give you the opportunity to learn and expand with excellent guidance.

I'm so glad I signed up for the Animation Bootcamp program — I learned so much more then I was expecting!! Not only did I learn the principles, but I learned the "why". And, I feel I got a lot better at AE as well.

This program really pushed me and at times I was exhausted (I work FT and other commitments too). Most of the work was done early in the AM before work, sometimes at lunch and mainly after work till about 11pm + and the weekends. So just know if you have other commitments - "you are going to feel it" and "you will be tired" — BUT PUSH THROUGH IT!!! (in the end you won't regret it)!! — I'm in the extended critique period and I'm so happy with how far I've come. My TA was/is awesome — I want to give a shout out to Randy M.

A valuable, concise course that pushes you to grow, expands your horizons, and helps you meet like-minded people.

Very well organised and the learning is very targeted. The course does progress at a very steep rate but stick to it and you'll be fine!

This school has amazing information, although I'm a graphic designer, but the course that I took gave me lots of information. Even when choosing the courses you know exactly what you are taking which made me know that what I chose was the right course for me.
Also with my teacher assistant, she was acurate and helping whenever I got stuck in some places.

Amazing course it really took me to the next level. After finishing the course I got a job at an animation studio. Seriously couldn’t have done it without school of motion.

I was a little skeptical when I first realized the lectures were not 'live' but pre-recorded (as I was worried I would lack motivation or accountability) ... but thanks to Nol's authentic vibe and charismatic vulnerability-- it really felt like he was virtually there with us.

The combination of video, podcast, PDFs, and supplemental content was a great balance to make us not ever feel burnt out.

This is the best motion graphics course I ever took, I'm so proud of how I've improved in the past few months.

I took the After Effects course this summer and it was AMAZING. I went from having never opened the program before to creating short animations, and the lectures and bonus content were easy to follow and understand at least 85% of the time.

The biggest criticism I have is that of timing. You go through a LOT of content over 8 weeks, and if you aren't near perfect in your time management it will be difficult to get everything in before the end of the course. If you're like me and have a full-time job and/or young children, it may be even more difficult to make sure everything is done. Still, if you're looking to learn animation and know you can get at least 70% of the course done on time, I'd say the course is still worth it.

Very complete classes, a lot of materials, TAs available to answer you.

The course is really good. Sarah is a good teacher and could explain really well her ideas. I loved the homework because it's based in real cases, so we can practice with challenges that could be possible happen in real life. The teacher assistants are all kind and give good tips to keep us going further. I really enjoyed this course. The only thing that were a little bit tough for me was the homework's deadlines. We have 2 homework for week, the complexity of each challenge normally took me one week to do. So it was a little bit overwhelming for me.

I enrolled into Animation Bootcamp. The course was structured well and had valuable lessons. I think the homework assignments are very beginner friendly - however, if you have prior experience with After Effects. I would suggest another class. I would also have liked more 1 on 1 or better critique from industry professionals to talk about maybe what some clients would like or share personal work to make it more engaging with real world applicable assignments.

Ideas for future changes to the course:
1. Go over how briefs work and give students an idea of how to complete one for a client. If this whole course according to the information sheet is to get someone more comfortable with After Effects and get them to start seeing with a more critical eye - harder assignments and harsher critique is a must.

2. Zoom meetings or some form of video call to show current progress on assignments will go a long way in that hands on approach to learning and will make troubleshooting problems and questions about the assignments overall easier to deal with.

This was my first class with SOM and it was really great! The pace was challenging to keep up with at times because I also work full time but the curriculum and teachers are awesome. I learned so much and I will definitely be going back over the material again. Looking forward to taking more classes here.

I think Animation Bootcamp is a very good animation course. There is so much stuff to learn and you can choose your own speed to complete the tasks. I think there is even the workload is slightly too big. You should at least have solid knowledge in After Effects to take part in the course. Great learning experience over all and very motivating!

I went in to this course not knowing very much about after effects or animation. Joey made it easy and fun to learn. At times it was a little overwhelming with the amount being thrown at you, but the catch up week and extended period at the end help. My TA was very encouraging and helpful in my progress and always gave constructive critiques.

I took the design bootcamp course. The lessons were very clear and well structured. The feedback from the TA was very useful and constant. I also loved the "woodshed" show, were you get to see some live reviews of student work, with detailed insight on what could be improved and what was working well.

Without a doubt, the best online school anywhere and certainly the best motion design school. The content, homework, teaching platform and teaching assistants are all brilliant and contribute to an extremely effective learning experience. I have now taken 5 courses and they have all been excellent.

I've taken extra-curricular art and design courses, both online and in-person, for over a decade, and I have to say I was blown away by the scope and depth of School of Motion's Cinema 4D Basecamp course. If you're looking for a deep-dive into this program and you've got the scratch, it's worth every penny.

The only reason I'm giving this course 4 stars instead of 5 is that due to the format (mostly pre-recorded videos), there appears to be some difficulty re-recording segments in cases where updates have been made to C4D's UX/UI (e.g., a function whose name, icon, and interface location have changed in the most recent version of C4D, but the pre-recorded video has not been updated, leaving the student to figure it out on their own or to stop a lesson and message their TA).

School of Motion has been the best online learning experience I've had.
